Also, it's not true - but some lazy players parrot the idea.

Athletes play positions, much as Justin or Wong play "characters". If you're going by "personality", which usually isn't evinced during the play itself, MvC2 has plenty of interesting personalities.

"Abusing their partner"? You mean calling their assist too often? That comment as regards to Strider/Doom or MSP show a fundamental lack of understanding of the game. I mean I wish you luck and all, but MvC2 *is* an assist-based game. =)

Watch Combo Videos to see dedicated combos. There's combos here too. if they don't make you happy, try DJ-b13's vids. =)

LOL.. but i'm just not use too it... and sometimes on line.. i use to the lamest player EVER!! and it makes me p/o... i mean if those players online fight like the two fighter in your vid. then i tottally understand.. but come one.. you gotta give online a try to see what i'm talking about.. they abuse it so much its just liek no point of combos or anything.. i might as well run away from you and use my assist as much as i can.. you get what i'm saying?

I do play online regularly.

It's an assist-centric game. If you don't get that, you're missing out on half the game.

Punishing assists is generally easy: you should learn how to do it. Double snapbacks for example, make calling assists "as much as I can" a dumb plan.

dude.. you gotta give me some tips then.. lol.. and i just gotta put the the "assist" in my brain.. see.. i'm a tekken player so i'm more use to one on one but when players pull out assists i'm likst" oh shit, i'm fucked"... Tips from you will help! so i can become better..

Check out GameFAQs or Shoryuken. Plus check out videos of good players and try to understand why they do what they do. It's complex and the execution will take a bit, but the logic is fairly straight-forward. There's tons of information already out there for you to mine from. =)

Only Yipes can pull off a MSP against pros, its a good team to smoke newbs quick with but against a Pro, MSS is the way to go.
