It's sort of a grey area when it comes to what people think is appropriate when training someone. What may feel appropriate to someone can completely be offensive to someone else. Hell, you're probably not required to do anything more than stand there and tell them what they need to do but what trainers do that.

I would expect that there is no way possible for this personal trainer to have never thought about touching a client in a way that was 'more than required,' and that this question brings up some 'questionable' thoughts for him. He may have never crossed the line, physically, but he's a guy, and probably crossed the line in his imagination. That may have triggered the 'lie' detector. Who knows.

I don't believe polygraphs to be objective or exact in any way, questions are interpreted in many ways, your answers also, so, it's a matter of point of view, polygraphs aren't reliable. Words such as "required", "needed", "wanted" give way too much space for interpretation, it's all relative.
