Also I study Japanese so basically you are breaking English words up in to syllables which would be equal to moras in Japanese. for example Fune (ship)
fu, ne = two syllables. Ringo (apple) ri, n, go. the reason I isolate the n is because in Japanese the n stands alone all the time and can not be combined with a vowel or consonant.
