  • i wish i can go back to the 80's

  • the music sounds like it from 1982

  • movie was released in the US at 1986

  • How come this is a trailer shown in japan when it's all spoken in english?

  • While originally a Japanese property, the Transformers show and movie were produced by Americans for American audiences. I guess they kept the original audio and used subtitles here because, like with other foreign cinema, it's preferable to not lose the original acting.

Probably helped the Japanese kids watching it with their English a bit too. *lol*

  • Transformers came from a two late '70s/early '80s Japanese toy lines known as Microman and Diaclone.

  • "It is the year 2005..."

*looks at calender to see 2008*

    *Depressed sigh*

  • I'm still looking for rocket-powered hoverboards too... *lol*

  • I really wanted a silver jumpsuit by now as well, & why don't we all live in a big dome on the moon..?

    Science has lied to us..!

  • Science didn't lie to us, it just doesn't know how to market itself very well. Look at all of the super-futuristic concept cars that can't get off the showroom floor. :P

Besides, the moon sucks. Why live there? *lol*

  • the city fight looks more realistic in this version

    :)

  • Why did they bother to announce the actor's names if they were gonna dub it in Japanese anyway?

  • the story I heard was that this was the trailer they used to shop the movie to distributors

  • LOL My favorite is the line "...And, at the end, when Unicron reveals his secret..." ok, guess it's not a secret anymore!

  • lol ya thats what i said

  • Thats new

  • hrm..is it just me..or did i see a few scenes/recuts and animation not present in the american release? did they upgrade/add for japanese release?

  • It's not just you, but they weren't included in the movie. The only additions to the Japanese film was the character's names being placed on screen. From what I remember hearing, this trailer was actually put together with some of the final footage, and pre-animation footage(which would explain the use of Magnus's Powered Convoy Diaclone scheme) to get investors interested in the project. At least, that's how I've heard it explained.
