@SmokingBarrels88 If you mean Tolfdir, there's a bug on the quest if you talk to him before entering the maze that causes he to never show up inside, along with some of the students.

If you gonna take this quest without lydia etc , you need to be a werewolf. Thats how i killed the Boss. Just do strategy like that :

I'm confused, I never got caught in any sort of trap. I took the amulet off the wall, shit started glowing, I got scared and blew the wall down...then we explored it some more? Maybe I was trapped and didnt know it somehow. maybe I just completely missed that part haha.

a good tip if you have the scourge and you can't beat him, use your beast form if you have it i took him out really fast with that. and the last boss fight was easy with fire

@stKittsLongboarding2: go to the Bee and Barb in Riften and hire marcurio. He's a skilled destruction mage using sparks and flames (and any other weapons and armor you give him). He's extremely helpful i assure you.

I was nowhere near this strong or skilled when I did this quest. The boss would kill me very quickly. So when I got to the wight, instead of fighting him, I outsmarted the game. I used a scroll of the bane of the undead so he ran away from me for 30 seconds. That was plenty of time to run through the door he was guarding and close it behind me.

My *genius* way of fighting the boss was using my Spectral Assassin to battle it before Marking it For Death and then running like hell towards the next pillar challenge, closing all door behind me.

find the sword of Gaarthaul or whatever and it has an enchantment that gives you 15 pts of health every time or just find the enchantment and put it on any sword/mace but keep feeding it soul gems whenever it dies, shouts help out a lot too, but the flame/storm/ice antronachs always help out with distracting the enemy...Spectral Assassin too
