Actually, the information that Remo Giazotto is the real composer of the Adagio is not just from Wikipedia; the program notes on several albums (which I happen to own) in which this composition appears also state that Giazotto wrote it based on a fragment of Albinoni's work "discovered" in 1945.
I'm one of the saxophone players in my quartet in High School. I really love the interpretation of this piece on sax, it's very beautiful and sweet sounding. Could you please send me the score/parts to this piece? I would really appreciate it.
@Annetje99 Albinoni is the composer, Giazotto found this adagio and he only published it to the world... wikipedia sucks... you should search for real resources not only a little of clicks in your computer
THIS MUSIC MAKES YOU CRY..... sweet tears of endless sorrow unite the deep unhappieness and hopelessness of one's universum of grief....................... Its for me the most endurable version of this adagio coz it promises you the eternal joy of the other worlds... this dont do other versions... at least for me..
Great Interpretation of this piece. But, as you certainly know, this isn't an Albinoni's piece. A Biograph of the XIXth century found a not finished prelude of Albinoni and he wrote this well-known "Adagio". But I have to admit that this score is really marvellous !
soory it makes no sence whay whold you call an instrument maid out of brass wood wind and not brass wind its maid from brass it soundes like brass it looks like brass bat still cald wood wind i gues it has a historicel esence bat still today it makes no sence and all of this barss wood convesation is missing the point
"The saxophone (also referred to simply as sax) is a conical-bored transposing musical instrument considered a member of the woodwind family. Saxophones are usually made of brass and are played with a single-reed mouthpiece similar to the clarinet."
"Most saxophones, both past and present, are made from brass. Despite this, they are categorized as woodwind instruments rather than brass because the sound waves are produced by an oscillating reed, not the player's lips against a mouthpiece as in a brass instrument, and because different pitches are produced by opening and closing keys."
well i am sorry for may atitude erliar bat i still stick with may opinen brass are regarded as all instrument maid out of brass trumpets sax tuba and so on the main carcter in that famly of instrument is the punch (the attack of the sounde) a drum for instence has a lot more "punch" then lets say a veolin creshendo this is the carcter of the instrument so i was simply saing in a "brass" ansmble i whold acspect to hear that "punch" come out good day & peace
wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it!!! played so beautifuly! you can feel the emotions
i never heard this version on saxo Q but now i am proud of Saxophone players because this is a difficulte music for saxophone the dynamics are so hard..
i wish i could play with you (i am alto player ^^)

Timbric completeness and precision of reeds in great performance.

I think that it is good that the saxophone is getting to perform classically. Sometimes I find jazz to be obnoxious. Sorry if I offended anyone.

Love the use of Sax as a replacement for organ, wonderful idea.

It's not from Albinoni. It's from Remo Giazotto. He fraudulously attributed this to Albinoni.
More info at Wikipedia: Adagio in G minor

I actually ADORE the interpretation of the piece!
it still has the essence of the original, and the timbre of the saxophones s absolutly gorgeous!
where do i find an arrangement of this for my string quartet?

@rpalmatron
"where do i find an arrangement of this for my string quartet?"
I imagine you will find it in the big muddled heap that is your overblown self importance .

@MarcusCardiff
How rude are you!
So just because I want this for a string quartet I'm in, I'm now obviously self important? are you actually being serious?

@rpalmatron
I am very rude now you come to ask.

Yes, he was Remo Giazotto (1910 - 1998).
I credited him in the "More Info" section. :)

From the Saxophone article in Wikipedia:
"The saxophone (also referred to simply as sax) is a conical-bored transposing musical instrument considered a member of the woodwind family. Saxophones are usually made of brass and are played with a single-reed mouthpiece similar to the clarinet."

The30YearOldVirgin 2 years ago
i'm afraid you're missing the point.
What makes the brass section is not just the obvious, but it's also the mouthpiece and the technique that comes with it.
which the saxophone does not have, which is why it is not part of the brass family.
the woodwind is classed by needing a mouthpiece, whether it is the flute, clarinet (single reed) or the oboe (double reed)
because of this, the saxphone is woodwind as it has a single reed.
Please read your textbooks etc.

Hey, you have the right to your own opinion, mate! :)
Same way as we have the right to disagree!
All the best! Peace!
The30YearOldVirgin 3 years ago
the saxophone is not a brass instrument, it's a woodwind
SuxToYourAssMar 2 years ago 2
Indeed. Saxophones are usually made of brass but they're a woodwind instruments.
The30YearOldVirgin 2 years ago
i cant respect your opinion with all those spelling errors.
plus, its a well known established fact that the sax belongs to the woodwind family....
nickysaxpiccolo 2 years ago 2
well about the mix
to much compressor no dynmics some times the attack glich and you hear just how much
whats the point doing it with brass if ther is no punch
no clsical engenires in venice?
krop009 3 years ago
Well, if my video sucks that much, why don't you just post a better one? :)
I'll be waiting for it! ;)
The30YearOldVirgin 3 years ago
if you cant even tell the instrumentation by listening then what qualifies you to make a comment about the dynamics or the mix? just wondering ;)

Thanks for commenting my video!
I'm not a saxophone player myself... but I have a few friends who play sax and I can recognize the considerable difficulty in performing this piece.
Best regards
