  • This Video Is so breathtaking it's such a peace of mind to listen to. . The music Is is so spirtual beautiful and sad you feel it's begining.... the love and the ending of its goodbye I luv It

  • aa vile of the vilest!

  • OUTSTANDING FOOTAGE.from a superb airline.

  • WeArelegends01 Channel :) watch it!

  • If I could go back and save one airline of the past...

  • nice video

  • Que emoción este vídeo se veía lo grandioso que era volar por la aerolínea mas grande de Usa

  • Such a beautiful, and sad, video of a Pan American World Airways 747 flying over Florida. Every time I watch it, I always have this urge to resurrect this great airline! And I wish could have traveled back to the 1980s to be PA's CEO and save Pan Am.

  • 5 people work for american airlines

  • How majestic!

  • Beautiful video!

  • I've always wondered why the older 747s (100s, 200s, 300s) have that antenna sticking out from each wing.

  • Dat was beautifull :.)

  • How was this ad shot? They used fighter aircraft and Steadicams?

  • I have never flown Pan Am. That was before my time. But I guess that was the airline of all time. This ad is a testament to the Pan Am's greatness. So tasteful, so beautiful. I only wonder how they did it? They used a fighter jet and Steadicam equipment? The only company today that approaches Pan Am is Germany's Lufthansa in my opinion.

  • @MowgliX no, Emirates really is the only airline today that can even compare to Pan American World Airways. Someday, I want to create another airline that will match the greatness of both Emirates and Pan Am.

  • @compdude100 Go!!!! I'm your fan! What will it be called? Pam An? Pan Canadian? Trans Am? Pan Siberian?

  • It was done with a Lear jet that has a gyro camera mounted under the belly of the aircraft. The lear flew around the 747. The story goes that soon after they took off they hit a bird on the nose. They had to land to clean it off to continue filming. It was filmed over south Florida out of Mia airport. The takeoff was at an airport west of Mia it was going to be used by the SST aircraft witch didn't happen. So they just keep it up for training now.

  • One of the greatest Airlines of the world. PAN-AM you will never be forgotten sweety.

  • Very very sad about pan american or pan am

  • Couldn't agree more. I had the pleasure of flying from Seattle to London and New York to London. Today's air carriers don't even come close to the world class sservice of PAN-AM. Oh, the golden age of travel with TWA, PAN-AM to name a few.

  • Was lucky enough to be in the business from the 60's until retirement. It was truly a golden age and will never be seen again. I grieve for all the legacies that have gone away........TWA, Northwest, Western, PSA and countless others we knew in those days. Of all of them we thought Pan Am was indestructible. I remember everyone in the terminal actually gazing in wonder at the Pan Am crews walking through, knowing they were seeing the entire globe.

  • I absolutely miss this era of flight. I'm only 29, so most of my memories of PanAm were when I was 10 or less... but I always remembered it being such an amazing and remarkable time. Dad was military, so we usually flew civilian on PanAm back to the States, and I was always so amazed to fly on a PanAm B-747.

Flying for a living now, I can say that NOTHING compares to the service from that time. In a time where we cut corners and ignore service.. makes you miss times like then.

  • Interesting how the ad on the front page is for the Pan Am show

  • pan am is coming back soon

  • i hate it when the top comment is in another language :S lol

  • Whenever I watch this video and read people's comments, I want to recreate Pan Am when I grow up.

  • This video makes me sad :( I wish I was older; I would have gotten to fly in a plane belonging to the greatest airline there ever was, Pan American World Airways.

  • Pan Am was all about great flying service and experience. I always wear a Pan Am lapel pin everywhere I go. It will be interesting to see if ABC does Pan Am justice with the Pan Am series this Fall 2011.

  • I had the privilege of working for Pan Am in the early 1980s and the 747 was my "office". What a great airplane and what a great airline. That era is long gone, but it and Pan Am will never be forgotten. "You can't beat the experience: PAN AM"

  • Thumbs up if you're here from anet, y'all!!!

  • Wow what a great video, this advert is legend, cheers for the posting, the shots are amazing, here was once upon a time when airlines knew how to make interesting adverts, just compare them to the crap we have to live with today. I was too young to experience PAN AM but heard off the elders that it was a great experience and today passengers get ripped off, awful customer service and are treated like cattle at airports - no respect whatsoever. PAN AM should come back again.

  • it´s look like that happen in any place here in brazil we´ve had a varig that was considered by their excellent service unfortunatly our governement doesn´t give any support so that they closed nowadays tam and gol it semeed that you are traveling in a squeezed seat like a tin can

  • I came back from a flight in hell flying with American Airlines two days ago, a four hour flight that came to an end 12 hours later and my luggage lost. No refund or anything from AA. I really hope airlines like Pan Am can rise again and beat the living crap out of airlines like AA who don´t give a damn about their customers just about their money. Pan Am deserves that just as much as AA deserves to go bust. AA should paint their fleet shit brown and rename it American Craplines.

  • @Sooksawaspakdee961 fuk AA & United

  • @Sooksawaspakdee961 If you fly the eastern triangle within the US and Canada, try Porter Airlines. Best experience in 20 years!

  • @sdrawkcab96 Thanks for the tip, i try the out for sure. I will never ever set my foot on an American Airlines aircraft ever again. Guess what, my luggage is still missing and AA has no clue where it is, and in good old AA customer style told me last time i called their pathetic customer service to forget it. No refund or anything. Not even an excuse or anything. Join the American Airlines boycott so we can get rid of this incompetent airline for good.

  • @Sooksawaspakdee961 You know, most airlines are like that nowadays, worldwide. Flying is a pain now. And wow, that is a really majestic commercial!!!!

  • @Sooksawaspakdee961 Yeah, the wonderful US international airlines deserve to go bust just as much as Emirates deserves to take over the world. In my opinion, Emirates is the Pan Am of today, except it's not a US airline!

  • @Sooksawaspakdee961 and that awful pack lunch they serve -- sadly a symptom of America's demise and Asia's rise- just compare the level of service on Asian airlines - I never fly US airlines...

  • @sdvplatt wow so comparing meals signals a nations demise now? Who woulda thought. Yes i'm being sarcastic as u would have ta be a brain dead loser to actually take such a comment seriously.

  • The music makes me feel like flying again with Pan Am.

  • I'm optimistic about the U.S. economy and Pan Am both will make a recovery and come back.

  • My home airline. Pan Am always will be. She took me all over the world... and brought me home again... safe. This amazing video make me smile... and a little teary. Thanks to entire Pan Am family.

  • Most beautiful airliner to ever grace the skies. Queen of the skies!!! I remember riding on one in the early 1970's. A National Airlines 747-100 series. In those days they were used domestically too. My trip was from JFK to MIA. Now they use Embraer's on routes that long. LOL!!!!

  • @jimdep333 Funny you mention that, because its true - even for most cross-continent domestic flights. Hell, delta is even using that pencil 757 for international flights from Seattle to Narita. What the shit is that?

  • @hillypop6725 747-121 "clipper ocean peral" (N740PA) went to GATX dry leased post Pan Am then to Tower Air registered N613FF, it was stored in AZ as of 2002, one report said it had flown in 2007.

  • this video makes me so sad. Every time I watch it this vid, I want to re-create Pan American World Airways, but my airline will never be as good as original Pan Am!

  • Pan Am ! I need you to take me back to American Samoa during one of my vacations annually. I was only a 7year kid when you first showed me the skied, and a coupled more times, before living in Seattle for good during my early teens. I still have the bag(Pan Am Kids school bag) you gave me when I was 7. This is the very same type aircraft (747-100) you flew me on from American Samoa to Hawaii, and then I got on Northwest Orient from Hawaii to Seattle.Missed you both; especially you...PAN AM

  • Why did Pan Am "disappear"?

  • @vuthead Poor management = bankruptcy.

  • @Einhander49 No. It was the de-regulation of the airline industry. Pan Am had passengers feeding into it's immense (at the time) international network before de-reg happened. After that (no more fare guarantees) Pan Am had to struggle to fill their aircraft (as they had a very weak domestic network). They bought National Airlines, hoping to form a domestic network. But it was too little and too late. They started selling route-rights and quickly died. In Trippe's era, it was the BEST management.

  • Those were the days!

  • Absolutely beautiful. I will never forget you Pan Am.

  • I hope there could still be Pan Am

  • I enjoyed the distinct privilege of crewing on the E-4B, Advanced Airborne Command Post, for a number of years. The E-4B is a variant of the B-747, the most beautiful aircraft ever made. All of you who flew on these gorgeous machines are truly blessed. I thoroughly enjoyed my time on a "74".

  • Oh yes the good ole days before deregulation, when tickets were 600 bucks and up and this kept the riff raff off our airlines and out of our airports... no pwt on board in those days.. . damn deregulation.

  • Very Nice Vid! Thanks!

  • I was a stewardess/flight attendant for Pan American....this has brought back such good memories......made me cry.....such a great company, such great people.

Such a beautiful aircraft, it was a joy to work on. My favorite aircraft, a beautiful bird.

  • What a truly elegant bird. My 1st flight was on a Pan Am 747 in 1972 from New York's JFK to San Juan, Puerto Rico. I still have the wings & the deck of cards I got from the stewardess. I went on to fly Pan Am to many destinations throughout the 70s & 80s and all were as memorable as the last. Thank you for posting this amazing video and thank you Pan American World Airways for safely showing me the world in class. You are greatly missed.

  • Amazing !

  • such wonderful videography in this video! And great music, too!

  • I wish Pan Am was still around! If only I was older, then maybe i would have gotten a chance to fly with the greatest airline of all time!

  • Jazajia that airport is the so-called Everglades Jetport... It was originally supposed to be a huge 6 runway international airport that would handle the Boeing SST. However, the SST got cancelled, and environmentalists raised a stink about the Jetport, so the project got scuttled after only one runway was completed. It's now called the Dade-Collier Training and Transition airport but gets very little use these days.

  • Despite her now advancing years, I'm still yet to see Airbus build something this beautiful. Cracking video thanks alot.

  • One of the best videos I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing. Which airport is it?

  • @jazajia the airport was to be called Everglades Jetport and have runways for supersonic planes, the construction was not completed, only 1 run way finished, its now called Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport ; owned by Dade County FL.

  • where can I download this video!!!

I thought it used to be downloadable on video google but now I cant find it!!!

  • "AWESOME" FOOTAGE, THANK YOU FOR SHARING AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU!!!!!!!

  • If sooooo many airlines have come back from bankruptcy why can't Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) do the same? I remember flying as a five year old, coming home to LA from my grandparents' on my own. I remember the flight attendants taking upstairs to first class and me getting a play briefcase with my captain's wings, a coloring book, and crayons. I wish I still had those things. I used to love flying on the Pan-A m 747 Jumbo Jet. I miss Pan Am.

  • AWESOME VIDEO! It's sooooooo sad that pan am isn't around anymore :(

  • NOTHING BETTER LIKE THE OLD DAYS MAN!

  • i cried in this vid

  • Simply Beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fantastic video!

  • Those days are gone. Never to be forgotten. The world will never have the freedom to fly like we did before.

  • I never flew Pan Am, but I do remember their legendary planes and how they stood out in the world's major airports back in the seventies and eighties. What a fantastic video...

  • DAMN AIRLINE DEREGULATION ACT OF 1978!

  • @flyingzeto91 i know right? Yeah that really killed the big airlines, while allowing the smaller ones to prosper! Well, it's partly the airlines own fault too.

  • Pan American World Airways.............

  • Even with these new "super" jumbo jets coming out, the Boeing 747 is still a wonder to behold. I flew in it a few times and I loved it. Great safety record too.

  • @chloe7829 -best safety record (NTSB) So much for the unionized technicians/pilots huh!! You wanna discuss american airlines safety record both mechanical/flight..It will enlighten you!!!!! Pan American World Airways represented the best The United States offered but when you look at the United States today you see a country broke.corrupt,a nation with no direction nor future!!! This is what happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @chloe7829 "the unions took over" ???????? Here we go blaming the unions!!!! Want the facts ,read SkyGods!!!! Second, "fly the flag routes" were profitable!! until deregulation thanks to Ted Kennedy and the Carter administration allowed garbage united.american and delta to chip away!! Yes Juan Trippe appointed the wrong man in Halabe but it was Seawell and Acker that raped and destroyed the airline!! "our equipment was unkempt" Hilarious...It's interesting Pan American to this day had the-

  • Pan Am was the greatest, so what happened? The unions took over, we flew "fly-the-flag" routes for Uncle Sam which were non-profitable, we operated the R&R flights during the Vietnam war for One US Dollar a year from Washington eating into our profits, Juan Trippe appointed the wrong successor in Najib Halabe, our equipment was unkempt and then came the coup de grace: Lockerbee. Delta reneged on the payments for the routes they got. PAA II lasted just 2 yrs and PAA III is not airworthy anymore

  • this makes me sad im only 13 and i never flown with pan an

  • Pan Am, TWA, Eastern, Western, Braniff...all gone

  • "Pan Am" the name is so ispiring. Sigh... makes me nostalgic, I don't know why, but it reminds me when I was a little kid, damn that name used to attract me so much!

  • this video made me dream during 9'20''......so good......

  • AWESOME VIDEO !!!

Anyone know the name of the music ???

  • Windham Hill - Water Trade by Michael Whiteley and Peace of Mind by Richard Schonherz are the two pieces of music used.

  • The video stops at 4:10.

  • Fantastic footage... I worked for Eastern for 18 years, Northwest for 2 years, and British Airways for 10 years then retired. Pan Am was one of my favorite airlines... thanks for posting this video.

  • This flight had one of the shortest layover's in history. The smoke from the tires hitting the runway had barely cleared and then the plane took off again. I hope no one needed to get off at that stop (or to get on that flight).

  • We flew them a lot, and never had a bad experience.

Remember the 1969 2001 movie? It had a PanAm spacecraft in it. How sad this company was not saved. It deserved to be.

I remember the spiral staircases and the beautiful (and friendly) stewardesses. Those were the days. We will never see them again.

  • @RealityCheck86 I don't think there is another airline that was as beloved as Pan Am. I wear a lapel pin of the beautiful logo on my jacket everywhere I go. Pan Am reminds me of soaring childhood dreams.

  • @RealityCheck86

Fully agree. Experienced perhaps 1,500 hours aboard Pan Am (alone) and there was, to the best of my recollection, never a single glitch. Their entire staff were always some of the absolute best. Halcyon days tragically gone by not just for the carrier, but the once great USA.

    Heil Maobama!

  • ALUCINANTE!!!!!. Ese vuelo fue con pasajeros, o alguno que otro vuelo especial???

  • They were the best, no one flew better than Pan Am. What a pity that this historic American corporation could not be saved.

  • This business will never see the likes of Pan American World Airways again. How I wish I could have seen a Pan Am 777 at LHR or NRT...

  • I never forgotten

  • Gente eu ja não sei quantas vezes eu ja assiti este filme o problema que ele e d +

  • Flying at high speeds over that huge Ocean / Scary thing is there is no radar over the Ocean only point to point radio contact so your on your own !

  • does anyone know what the first song is called?

  • So elegant video , music...image....amazing...just Pan am....

  • Sadly, we won't see another carrier to quite match Pan Am for innovation, in-flight service and great crews.

  • 1991....a sad year

  • Esse video é d+ eu fico aqui "voando" baixo quando eu assisto...

  • I am sadly too young to have ever flown Pan Am, but my parents have both flown them several times during the 80s.

    Also which songs are these?

  • lindo, lindo, ...

    pons tempos velhos tempos

    !!

    :})

  • Beautiful images of a beautiful ship on a beautiful line. Pan Am, you're missed.

  • what happened to this 747?

  • @9T6Q ...believe it or not,she still flies,as an engine test bed,for General Electric as N747GE.Great new life for such a classic jet.Delivered new to Pan Am in 1970.40 years old this year!!

  • @dutchy1176 N747GE is a different plane to this one, That 747 started out as "Clipper star of the union" and went to GE.

"clipper ocean peral" (N740PA) went to GATX dry leased post Pan Am then to Tower Air registered N613FF, it was stored in AZ as of 2002, one report said it had flown in 2007.

  • @GMHGTO You're right.Stupid of me.This plane went to Tower Air,which usually didn't mean much good for the plane's future. It was parked at JFK at one time, for spares.Has it not been scrapped yet?

  • Beatifull....She makes the 747 and brokes because that...

  • I remember playing this video during boarding....brought back a lot of GREAT memories!

  • Nice video, I worked for Pan Am as an Aircraft Mechanic in JFK during the mid 80's, seems like such a long time ago.

  • It's such a shame that Pan Am doesn't exist anymore. I love the Pan Am livery.

  • @AndrewUK1987 I'm more of a fan of the old livery, We couldn't believe our eyes when this paintjob rolled up to the gate. But that's just me, I'm more of the traditional kinda person.

  • The Whistling Shitbox. We love 'em though.

  • I like this livery for Pan Am planes with its big bold letters minus the blue stripe. 747s are really awesome. Long live 747s!

  • @abeamarra I feel the same way. The big-bold letters really made those 747s stand out. The old livery was nice, too. But it was a little too conservative.

  • this brings back good memories. I flew on clipper Ocean Spray between LAX and Philadelphia back in the earlies 80's.

  • If Pan Am should alive maybe it should

    have a 777-200 777-300 747 400 and maybe airbus A380

  • I agree. As a former Pan American Flight Atteendant (1980-1991) I would come back to flying if the Flying Clippers resumed operations

  • Comment removed

  • America's and world's best.celebrated airline system. The amount of material still available online via former staff and passengers proves investment beyond just a career and sentiment. Pan Am really had something special no branding campaign can quite capture. You're great!

  • romeox600: The aircraft in this video is Boeing 747-121 N740PA (cn 19647/16) Clipper Ocean Pearl, the 16th Boeing 747-121 built. This aircraft went on to serve with Tower Air after Pan Am shut down, and was still doing so in 2000! A true high-timer! The aircraft you are thinking of is Boeing 747-121 N739PA (cn 19646/15), Clipper Maid Of The Seas, the 15th B747-121 built. She was destroyed over Lockerbie Scotland on Dec 21, 1988 while operating Pan Am 103. Love the vid. I'm a 747 for sure!

  • I love the music on this video. It is so beautiful...

  • this is the 15th plane that boeing have made but after 20 years of unsing this plane it have crash in united kingdom but it was a terrorist attack

  • El artista de la primera cancion es Michael Whiteley, pero ¿como se llama la melodia?.

  • Beautiful video, Beautiful aircraft 5 stars!!

  • Pan Am. Not just the world's most experienced airline; the most beautiful, too.

  • i love pan am,what a great Air line!

  • boeing 747s are beautiful =)

  • Frank William Abignale Jr

  • What became of this 747 tail #? Scrapped, sold, etc..?

  • The 16th 747 ever built. It served with Pan Am from 1970 until 1990. It was sold to GATX,Burnstein,Trans Intercontinental Airlines and finally to Tower Air in 1993. Propably it has been scrapped.

  • good

  • Spectacular! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this amazing footage and music.

  • very nice share! One of the better promo vids I've seen

  • The golden age of aviation was America's greatest

inspiration to the world about freedom and innovation.

Juan Trippe's spirit lives on in this video, along with so

many of the intoxicating dreams that brought us to this

business from such an early age.

  • If ever PAN-AM flies again, it has to be a long haul big quad operator, not a commuter economy line like it has been, got to be the real thing I think, maybe a long haul branch of Delta?

  • wow how long pan am stay now over 100 years?

  • Pan Am is out of business since December 7, 1991...

  • @tomcatpilot1 December 4, 1991, I was there and locked out.

  • Thank you, Pan American Heavy Aircraft Maintenance, JFK, two generations.

  • THANK YOU ever so much for posting this! It's very dreamy...

  • what a wast come back pan am

  • I flew PA812 LAX SYD in October of '82. I went scuba diving on Heron Island on the Great Barrier Reef. On the way home on Flight 811, got on the plane almost a month later, and the terrific flight crew saw me and asked one question, "Vodka & Tonic?"

My hat's off to the videographer from the touch & go to a setting sun for beautiful lighting... not to mention the editing.

    SIERRA HOTEL!

  • Sublime

  • I remember my first International Flight was on Pan Am from JFK to Munich. I think it was Pan Am flight 091.

My family flew Pan Am all the time on International Flights.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • As a former Pan American employee. You had it almost right MUC-JFK was flt. 77 while Flt 91 wasZRH-JFK . Glad you enjoyed your flight.

  • I flew on this plane back in 1983. I loved this plane!

  • Spectacular and Elegant in the same frame.

Nowadays in this de-regulated market we are crunched in like livestock and are made to feel grateful for the packet of pretzels and half-can of soda pop !!

    Thanks for posting this jewell.

  • Pan Am was the premier carrier,America's flagship. Thanks for the great video.

  • I miss Pan Am

  • You will never be forgotten by us...Diniz-rj

  • @zeparaiba1 as i chose u would u like to see my youtube vids, i suscribe u

  • For my part I enjoyed flying on PanAm 747 once in 1987 during a USA trip with my father. The flight was from L.A. Intl. Airport to N.Y. JFK nonstop. Great service onboard, nice personnel and I didn't miss anything of comfort. PanAm was also one of the main serving inner-german lines (beneath Air France and the British Airways) to and from Berlin, using smaller planes like 737's and 727's.

  • This video is beautiful, but it is sad knowing that one of these planes will never grace the skies again. = [

  • u never know pan am may come back

  • hope so to :))

  • Would love to have this as a screensaver :o

  • This is a great tribute to the most wonderful aircraft ever made! The 747 Classic! The one and only princess of the skies with the most wonderful livery. Miss you Pan Am. You´re gone, but not forgotten! Thank you for this Video. Can´t stop my tears............

  • Loved Pan Am, my first fight was on Pan Am from Guam to Hawaii than California. Great services, caviar and champagne before a meal is nice. I miss flying Pan Am
