  • Why i Hate Politicians in one word: gibberish! What they hell point is this guy making anyway? I can't even isolate one statement. What a bunch of words w/o meaning behind them.Either I'm really stupid or they are so smart I can't understand them- waste of tax money to back people who speak in code!

  • Sarkozy, who .???? Jewish? yes Jews of Thessaloniki. Who is Sarkozy. Gaddafi, currently one of the campaign money

  • I can't imagine Ron Johnson, the salesman, asking these types of pointed and important questions.

  • all i ever see at these hearings is dodging the questions... all they ever fuking do is dodge the questions... what the fuk is the point of all this if all they ever do is fuking dodge the questions... how about "if you dodge my question one more time you're fuking fired..."

  • Petraeus doesn't give a shit whether or not these dumbasses in Congress voted to go to war in Iraq or not. He was there to give his report on the progress made during the surge and that's it. Fucking politicians.

  • Feingold is an arrogant, career politician who needs to be unelected. Vote for the other guy no matter who it is.

  • Pelter1: Its all good acording to that faggy looking guy with over 100 medals in 30 years.

Did he get one for not shitting his pants and passing basic training?

  • Petraus: I bet he would say it went swell tho.

  • Feingold is an asshole.

  • Everyone that votes the slimy democRATS in is also an A-Hole.

  • Feingold is the only Senator that gives a shit about your rights, who cares about whether we have a reason to go to war or not. Voted against the Patriot Act, voted against the Authorization for War Profiteering, and tries to wring the truth out of maggots like these guys who are lying to their true bosses, the American people. Check out Crocker, 1st hand experience in both countries and he refuses to say Afghanistan should be the top priority. LIE!

  • I feel sorry for Petraus having to listen to such vermits like Feingold, Obama, and all the STUPID democRATS. These democRATS are mere insects compared to Petraus, possibly the best General in recent history.

  • "I feel sorry for Petraus having to listen to such vermits like Feingold, Obama, and all the STUPID democRATS"

They aren't worthy of cleaning his latrine.

  • Are you serious? You really believe all the things that are going on in the world, are in your best interest? I pray for you!

  • Petraeus has been vindicated but the media doesnt care.

The last 2months have seen casualties that have only been lower in 6months out of the 57months since we removed Saddams bloodthirsty regime. October casualties were only a third of what it was in 2006 and November was down almost 50%. Casualties havent been this low in a two month period since Aug/Sept 03.

Way to go Petraeus. Its a victory for America and a political loss for Feingold. Maybe he will join our side sometime?

  • petraus is not a miracle worker even with all those commendations. Pretty amazing man, but Iraq is a political nightmaire and Blackwater has committed mass tragedy.

  • What happened to the opinions that by just killing Bin Laden wouldn't stop Al Qaeda? It's a global war against fanatical Islamic terrorism. I think this is just all political pandering. Feingold wants America to loose the war in Iraq. Feingold is not representing the American people. He's representing the liberal democratic party. When America sends a message of unity this war ends quickly. common sense.

  • the iraq war is totally counter productive in fighting al-qaeda and anti american terrorism. bush is creating more terrorists than he can kill. US is less safe because of iraq as teh NIE has reported al-qaeda recruiting and sympathy has greatly increased.

  • Hahahah...The whole world is America's Bitch.....Take it and like it....We'll use Terrorisum as a reason to invade your countrey next!!!! What are you gonna do about it??? huh....You little bitch.

  • if you had the IQ of a worm, you would know that America is broke and has no money other than what they steal from the voters to invade any country.

  • Feingold should be president. He seems to always be in touch with what is really going on.

  • the senator just made the general his bitch yall

  • "I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil"

-Alan Greenspan, former eighteen year Chairman of the Federal Reserve

so much for the WMD's, Freedom (TM), or whatever is politically expedient this month.

  • "For bureaucratic reasons, we settled on one issue, weapons of mass destruction (as justification for invading Iraq) because it was the one reason everyone could agree on."

Paul "I Don't Have My Job at the World Bank Anymore" Wolfowitz May 28, 2003

and now, we're left to figure out how to clean up this mess that the United States created

  • Just like Hitler inve´nted an "invasion" of a german radio station inside the border from Poland with german soldiers in polish uniforms as a reason to invade Poland.

Bush, the biggest moron of them all invented the WMD as his reason.

  • quj i believe the mess we are in is irreversible. Now we are going after Iran for a similar reason. Just like the nazi's i'm sure it appears to be an arrogant and greedy USA. Since our furor represents the US he will create a bigger mess which could lead to the demise of the good ol USA

  • i certainly don't like our chances =(

  • I watched a documentary on the Oprah show regarding the living hell the women and children are experiencing. Although this war has turned, to cut and run would leave innocent lives shattered. We did that in Vietnam and communism walked in an murdered US supporters. This is why we have a large Vietnamese community in the US. We can't just run, we need a plan somewhere in the middle. Instead of the left vs the right, a real solution needs to be found.

  • from what i see a third party with Feingold running would be the solution. Both parties r only in this for personal gain. At least we should elect someone who has some facts because they have done their homework. NOT someone so obssessed by greed that they feel they must control all the oil in the world

  • Also its not like we are invading another country for the fun of it. WE ARE DEFENDING PEOPLES FREEDOM. It must be nice for us to sit at our computers and argue about this when terrorist are cutting off childrens fingers in Iraq for smoking. Im sure none of us have ever experienced that.

  • we have killed 1.2 million civilians. Who are the evil doers??? we neeed to get the fuck out !!! end of story

  • You are so blind.Tell me about all your homework.I want to know about the research that you've done.Seriously, have you done any homework...? Come on now.The world is relying on your educated vote!!

  • Evil doers>> Give me a break..Let me ask you this. Are you a teenager? If you are,I still require a lot from you. The quality not to mention the very lives of our ancestors rely on you and I making very educated decisions based on facts and NOT feelings. Please,I say this with complete respect.

  • the civilian death toll from the U.S. invasion has topped 1.2 million. The British agency Opinion Research Business surveyed more than 1400 Iraqi adults. estimate was based on the number of deaths reported per household and the number of total households in Iraq. One in two households in Baghdad reported losing at least one family member. The 1.2 million estimate is the highest on civilian deaths so far. A study in the British medical journal the Lancet last year reported over 650 thousand dead.

  • hey boopy i am telling you we are killing massive amounts of innocents- does this mean anything too u?? lets impeach these guys

  • ksh we are defending who? what freedoms? we are occupying their country which puts people in greater danger. They say they are securing iraq and we can't even secure new orleans. Have you had any of your fingers cut off? Stop watching to faux news

  • Hey maxx1000 i think allowing men to rape and kill children which is what the terrorist are doing is the crime. terrorism isn't just iraqs problem but everybodys, and iraq wasn't a sovereign nation. It was ruled by random terrorist factions.....do some research.

  • Please read what the brave soldiers of the 82nd Airborne have to say about the Iraq war in an op-ed first published in the NY Times, Aug. 19, 2007. Mora and Gray have since died and Murphy has been seriously wounded.

  • "Iraq is suffering about double the number of war-related deaths throughout the country compared with last year." - AP, 8/25/07

US troop deaths are higher each month this year than the same month in 06.

Al Qaeda is stronger now than at any time since 2001 - CIA.

You're doing a heck of a job, Betrayus!

  • Everybody is doing their job but results are questionable. Is there a watchdog group out there that analyzes gov. and nongov. reciepts and expenditures? A money trail would help prioritize.

  • Feingold is the only senator to vote against the fascist Patriot Act.

  • Fascist huh? If you only knew what that really is. Thanks to the us military you don't. Of course since you dislike the Patriot Act then you must be a terrorist. Do you really think the govt really gives a hoot what you or anyone else who is not planning to blow something up or kill people is doing?

  • Oh I know what it is. All you have to do is read about Prescott Bush at the BBC website:

    bbc. co. uk/radio4/history/document/document_20070723. shtml

  • firejack007,

    Of course they do:

Jails full of nonviolent drug offenders.

Folks arrested on public property for wearing anti-Shrub t-shirts.

IRS audits of nonviolent corporate watchdogs.

Pentagon surveillance and dirty tricks against nonviolent peace groups.

Agent provocateurs placed in nonviolent demonstrations in order to give the police cause to repress the protest, etc.

  • When these SALESMEN can get fresh water and electricity to the majority of the Iraqi people & when they can start going to school and work without being killed, then I'll listen to how they think they're making progress. Until then, it's all been the same shit for the past 5 years. Unfortunately, an entire generation of Iraqi children are going to grow up hating America for what has happened in thier country. We'll be dealing with the blowback from this for decades. :-(

  • 57% of Iraqis support attacks on American troops according to a new BBC/ABC poll. At a time when our nation is 9 TRILLION DOLLARS in the hole it is time to stop pouring hundreds more billions into a country where the people hate us. Today's Wall Street Journal had a survey of economists- 36% now say the US will face a recession in the next 6 months to a year. War is expensive- stop wasting US blood AND treasure on a country where the majority of people support attacks on our troops!

  • It's been said that the world hates us. So are we to quit feeding and giving money to the world? Are we to quit our endeavors to give out medications for Aids and other problems? Yes world war is expensive. So if we quit and come home does that mean the enemy will say, "oh ok we quit too"? Maybe if the Democrats in Congress would quit fighting Bush and do their jobs in regards to providing for the troops and controlling their spending on pet projects we might be better off.

  • So you support our troops dying in a country where a majority of the population supports attacks on them? At a time when the nation is 9 TRILLION DOLLARS in the hole you support spending hundreds of billions more on a nation where a majority of the people support attacks on our troops? You and your kind are running our country into the ground.

  • Do you agree with Republican House Leader John Boehner when he said that the deaths of thousands of American soldiers and wounding of tens of thousands is a "small price" to pay? Just to be clear, you have no problem with Americans spending half a trillion dollars to rebuild a country where 57% of the population supports attacks on our troops? Are you an American firejack007? I can't see any sane American supporting such insanity.

  • ron an entire generation of Iraqi children are going to grow up orphans if they are even around to grow up.We are already dealing with the blowback because many people in the middle east have had enough. What a sad part of history we will all have to try and explain to our children

  • "This is a very dangerous world. It's an era of terror, and fixing this problem will not be easy," said Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.)

"We can see in regions there is now al Qaeda ... there will surely be an umbrella group in Europe and possibly [a group] here," she said, noting that "car bombings and suicide bombings are likely to be in our future."

MY NOTE > and I strongly believe that the liberals will blame bush even after he's out office and I suspect they will even assist them

  • capsource1,

Of course we will, given that Al Qaeda is stronger now than at any time since 2001, according to the CIA. Shrub has squandered an ideal opportunity and the good will of much of the world during the last six wasted years since 9/11.

  • .

    MISSION ACCOMPLISHED... YET?

  • TRANSCEND POLITICS! Watch a video by lightbliss called "Unshackle your Mind" especially part 2. Stop these actors of propaganda from mind slaying you!

  • Transcend politics, stop letting them mind slay you! Watch a video by "lightbliss" especially part 2.

  • TRANSCEND POLITICS! See a video by "lightbliss" on youtube part 1 and 2. Also military catch a video called "In the line of duty...Are you brainwashed?"

  • When will people realize that government doesn't want anything but to simply occupy Iraq long-term to secure oil interests, however many American soldiers lives and lies to the American people it takes.

  • You spout your crap that Bush is a facist. Just another one of your stradegy tactics. But are you clowns. Your agenda item for item is that of Karl Marx socialism mask in the new frontier of LIBERALISM. Oh don't your clowns think for one minute that your agenda is good for America.

  • Everytime I attempt to chat with one you liberal loonies you spout off your potty mouth. You see rarely do I defend Bush. I think the guy is an idiot too. But what I do dispise is Democrats. They have masked themselves in this tromoil and are hiding their true agenda. To radically move this country to the left and have more control over society. Bush is not good for America BUT NEITHER ARE YOU.

  • .

    Not all Liberals are Democrats.

    Are all Republicans Fascist?

    .

  • These are the same retards that didn't know to scramble fighter jets after the first plane hit the world trade towers.

Hell...even I knew and said out loud that that wasn't an accident. My words exactly: "they need to get some fighter jets in the air because that was not an accident!" I knew that in spite of the talking heads on the news saying that it may have been an accident.

    And I'm not a General.

  • From what I could find, the F15's were scrambled at 08:46, the same time Flight 11 hit WTC,then they were sent to a holding pattern. No one knew what was going on or where the airliners were. The main reason tho...all the cutbacks in the 90's and a society lulled into a belief that we would not be attacked, especially from the air. I will agree that we dropped the ball just like 1941.

  • man how do we make congress listen to us, do we have to start using force to retake the govt. not one straight answer. is al queda worse in Pakistan or Iraq? pick one u idiot. Ron Paul 08

  • LOL I knew it! I knew I would find at least one "Ron Paul 08" comment on the first page. You guys obviously don't sleep and probably don't work either.

  • No we have Jobs we're not part of the 5% that got a Bush Jr tax break.

    We just don't sleep.

We're part of the other tax bracket group that has to work 2 or 3 jobs.

  • It just seems that way because there are so many of us--we far outnumber the supporters of other candidates, but the mainstream media is trying to hide that fact.

  • bust my ass 40 hrs a week doin construction. its hard and exhausting and thats y i want my taxes back and to be able to do watevr the hell i want as long as i dont hurt neone. that to much to ask for

  • The, '* ♥ *' , of this, IS THAT PETRAEUS, is not the, DECIDER, of whether the spending of American, LIVES, and hundreds of 'Billions' of dollars, on maybe a type of Government, will happen, or not, so called, Nation building, Corporation deals, and Neocon interests is worth it to, America.

America, is not being attacked by Iraq; our, children go to substandard schools; we have our infrastructure crumbling all around us, homelessness, medical crisis, and on and on and on!

    OIL ?!?!?!?

  • Ya we don't have to fear Iraq now. The schools are a product of liberal mismanagement. You've got to be kidding. Oil? Where? I'd like some. We didn't take one barrel from Kuwait and not one now from Iraq but it's funny I here people say now that we should. Haha

  • .

Iraq was containable BEFORE this Administration decided to commit an illegal act and invade a sovereign nation without just cause.

When is vigilantism ever right? And when is creating the world's largest humanitarian crisis something to defend as if it were an achievement; Something to be proud of?

Nazism behaved as such. Why mimic it?

    .

  • Blame America first. Tipical for left wing kooks to do just that.

  • vote ron paul 08 and lets make america great agian!

  • yeah, this guy is one of the more honest senators. i like him!

  • As for Feingold, one of the best senators in Washington DC. The man truly earns his salary and stands for what he believes.

  • Where did you get that percentage? Did you or anyone go ask 225 million people? You mistakenly think this is a democracy. We don't go ask the public day by day on each subject. We are a republic with a representative govt. Petraeus is the general in charge. We also don't go ask the public how to conduct a war. And we dam sure don't even ask 435 members of the Legislature who have no clue how to fight a war. Feingold has no strategic sense whatsoever.

  • firejack007,

    AP, 9/11/07:

59% of Americans see the Iraq war as a faliure, 34% a success.

58% see the surge as a flop, 36% a success.

These are record disapproval numbers for an active war.

Whether you or I like it, modern war cannot be conducted for long without public support. It must be difficult for you to be in such a rapidly diminishing minority.

  • Once again Polls. You don't make decisions by polls. The 3776 men and women who have sacrificed for us to freely chat like this are not statistics, the ones still fighting aren't, and I'm not about to be represented in a poll by some lamebrain I don't even know.

  • First of all, you need to take a statistics class. You don't have to ask 225 million people in order to have consensus. Second, when Petraeus says 'I don't know if this war is making us safer" you need to really think about that. Who have our soldiers died for?, if not to make us safer. This war is a crime!

  • No tony50195,

You and the way you think (as well as spell) are an embarrassment to this country.

Petraeus is a mouthpiece for the Whitehouse. If the "surge" is working then why pull out a whole brigade by the end of the month? It makes no sense.

  • artleigh, I was educated by liberals, sorry about missing one of the r's. I'm sure you never have had a spelling error in your life. Its obvious that the lowest rated congress of all time can lead our forces better than our military. Its time you go back to your parent's basement (I realize you are 52) and dream up some more conspiracies.

  • After the Democrats won in Nov 2005 'Ol King George decides a surge of 30,000 is needed to give the Iraq Gov't time to get their 18 benchmarks passed.

Fast forward to TODAY and Iraq Gov't only met 5 of the 18 benchmarks. So what do they recommend? Draw down by 30,0000.

The fact that the Iraq Gov't DID NOT meet the 18 benchmarks should be the "FINAL REASON" to pull ALL of our troops out of that mess. Period!

  • And it is not up to the USA to dictate benchmarks to another country, nor to have organized elections and dictated their constitution and imposed laws which benefit only the foreign (mainly American) corporations to the detriment of the Iraqi people. The sovereignty that Bush conferred upon Iraq is a farce.

  • First of all it's 8 of 18 and secondly, how many benchmarks has our Congress met? Maybe 1.

  • Last I checked we DID NOT send our troops into District of Columbia. They are not going door-to-door in the DC ghettos. We are not pouring in Billions of dollars to reconstruct our Nations Capital. SO WHAT FUCKIN PLANET DID YOU COME FROM?

And if our money and soldiers were re-invested back on our own soil then Congress meeting just meeting 1 benchmark if FUCKIN-A great for me! Rather see our money wasted here for the next 200 years than some stupid desert Hell hole.

  • I should meant to write that the response to 911 should have been against the people who perpetrated it--NOT against those who had nothing whatsoever to do with it.

  • 911, indeed, deserved a response ---but against the people! Iraq had NOTHING to do with 911!

    NOTHING!

And "al Qaeda in Iraq" WASN'T in Iraq before Bush attacked.

Bush should be tried for war crimes. US Codes, Title 18, Section 2441, a capital crime.

  • The war on Iraq is, IN FACT, a war crime, punishable by death even under US Codes. But who has the nerve to put Bush in the dock in the Hague? Bush believes himself above the law, a dictator. Not even European Monarchs had the kind of power Bush claims he has.

  • .

    WAR CORPRATISM... gotta loathe it.

This "war in Iraq" or the "Iraq war" is NOT a legal war.

Congress can not abdicate their Constitutionally mandated role for declaring war. The U.N. never sanctioned this mis-adventure.

What do we validate when we call this a "war".

What do we surreptitiously legitimize by calling it a "war"?

    .

  • .

Al-Qaeda is NOT a national army and therefore can not be recognized as an army in ANY sense of a war. What nation does al-Qaeda fight for?

    .

  • Who cares about the UN? They don't run this country. Legal war? You bring lawyers while al Queda brings bombs. Ya that'll stop em.

  • .

The U.S. should care what role it plays on the world's stage. The U.N. is one of those stages. So is the Constitution. Acting above common law and Constitutional Law only proves a height of arrogance that others see.

Is the U.S.A. above international law?

Is the Administration above the Constitution?

You seem to imply yes, yes.

    .

  • .

    Besides,

The track record of successful prosecutions against terrorists within the bounds of the legal Justice system far outweighs the illegal inhumane treatment being afforded currently under the U.S policy toward terror SUSPECTS.

Is it now, presumed guilty BEFORE innocence?

If so, what is the crime I should presume you've committed that makes me less safe?

    .

  • .

    The Supremacy Clause...

Our Constitution binds any and all legal agreements the U.S.A. has entered into and that have been confirmed by the Senate. Human rights treatments and detention issues have already been decided by the SCOTUS as Unconstitutional. These two examples were directly BECAUSE of our international role and binding agreements.

What, now the SCOTUS doesn't count as legal?

    .

  • .

    And finally,

The current crop of terrorists your team obsesses about is the same crop of terrorists your team funded, trained and aided 25 years ago. They don't hate us for our freedoms, silly, they hate us because we're in their lands. And yet, someone thought it wise to keep on pissing them off... MISSION ACCOMPLISHED... YET?

What will that blow back look like in 25 years?

    .

  • The war on terror is just as bad as the war in Iraq. The terrorism against Amerika is caused by our governments bad foreign policy. It is an Imperialist foreign policy and this policy is the basis of terrorism. We are trying to take over the world and they are resisting. The risistance to our Imperialism is the terrorism. It will go away when Amerika becomes America again.

  • If you do not want this war to continue join the protest this Saturday.

  • god help us all in the rest of the world :( i call upon the good people of america to put a leash on your military machine and your war mongering politicians for gods sake before they go for a airstrike in Iran and start WWIII

  • hahaha, the general cannot even answer the senator's question when is the serious withdrawal of troops? He is just blabbering.

  • Al-Qaida, literally "the database", was originally the CIA's computer file of the thousands of mujahideen who were recruited and trained with help from the CIA to defeat the Soviets in Afghanistan. It is a CIA organization.

  • That's incorrect about the name. Al-Qaeda doesn't mean "the database" it means "the base", as in a foundation.

  • Both definitions are correct.

  • Russ is a good man, but he is partly wrong - Al Qaeda is not a real threat to the US, and a military response to terrorism is completely wrong - Afghanistan never should have been attacked, especially as none of the alleged 9/11 terrorists were Afghans, and about eight of them are still alive and well today. See also watch?v=ttcV6NIvkqE

  • I agree. But, how do you begin to explain to the American People the "big lie" we have been told? They do not believe me; do they you? Maybe tiny baby steps at first is the way to go; create doubt about the lies, first using some proof.

  • Well, 9/11 was kind of a big deal I would say, and worthy of a military response. It was a Pearl Harbor-type incident, and the government of Afghanistan (to use the term loosely, since the Taliban wasn't much of a government) was providing sanctuary and support to al Queda to the extent the two organizations had practically merged, so, in effect, Afghanistan had attacked the US no less so than Japan attacked the US.

Of course, then attacking Iraq afterwards would be like FDR attacking India.

  • There is no evidence whatsoever that Al Qaeda was behind 9/11, only allegations - about eight of the nineteen alleged terrorists (none of whom appeared on the passenger manifests - a first in aviation) are still alive and well. The Taliban government offered several times to deliver Bin Laden in a manner that would save the face of both the USA and the Taliban, Bush adamantly refused, he was so eager to bomb the poorest of countries into smithereens.

  • Furthermore, the attack on Afghanistan was planned months before 9/11, as was published in several news media (among which the BBC). It had to do with the Taliban refusing to have a pipeline built from the Caspian Sea oil and gas wells through Afghanistan and into Pakistan and India.

  • You are absolutely correct about Afghanistan. There is NO evidence that Afghanistan had anything to do with 911. The pipeline, however, was a US project involving UNOCAL which met with Taliban envoys in Tom DeLay's district of Sugar Land, TX BEFORE 911. It;s all about oil. Bush IS a terrorist.

  • I'm with Chalmers Johnson on this one - if we really wanted to get Bin Laden we could have done it quickly and easily. We could've brought him back here, tried him, and executed him and no one would've said boo about it. It could've been treated as a law enforcement issue, and there would've been few, if any, geopolitical ramifications. Of course, this wouldn't have provided the oil price or war profiteering windfalls that were the point of the Iraq War.

  • It's funny, when you see the actual video of the hearing, you see what an empty partisan shill the general is. Quite a contrast from the mainstream media portrayal of his testimony. Thanks Sen. Feingold!

  • He sure is no Major General Smedley D. Butler, that's for sure!

  • General BETRAY US

  • everyone needs to see this. perhaps the 25%-ers that still support Bush (and, by no coincidence, still believe Saddam/Iraq had anything to do with 9/11) would finally begin to wake the hell up and get this country back on track.

  • Wow.

Tell it like it is, Russ!

  • TylerNull,
