  • I knew you could do this just didn't know how and didn't wanna waste time on it cause I didn't have time thanks alot but does the computer connected to the printer and router have to be on at fist and any other time?

  • Thanks

  • Many many thanks. I've been trying to figure this out for the past six months or so and not understanding dongles, bluetooth, etc., your method is EXACTLY what I was looking for. You should be a teacher.

  • Good Job, but this is called file and printer sharing. It has been around for years.

  • mine didnt work when i clicked on my desktop with the printer and router it asked for a password i put in its log in password and it says it wrong wtf

  • @customfaceplates go to your desktop computer open up network and sharing center then on the bottom turn off the password protection.

  • This is amazing how did you figure this out cause it worked for this is soooooo awsomee :)

  • I cant believe this works!!

  • please do this video for mac....

  • does this work on a mac?

  • Do my computer connected to the printer has to be on all the time?

  • A person is better off using a network print server or buying a network card for their non-network ready printer; then the printer can have a network IP address that all computers can access (no file and printer sharing necessary). Or better yet, buy a printer with an integrated network card.

  • Thank you now I do not have to use my USB every time to connect to the printer.

  • Thanks for the video, but how did you get the mac look?

  • @SimBa599 he has another video called "how to get mac on a pc"

  • You are the man!! Couldn't find anything on the web that told me how to do this right but you did. I have a Vista laptop and a Windows 7 desktop which is connected to my printer. It works! @Ventilator: make sure Network Discovery is on at your main computer, also make sure both computers R setup as home not public networks. @Darkarceus: right click it and you should see an option to Open. Also for everyone: make sure u disable password for network sharing. Need to try on my XP laptop too.

  • @mkarias1 Thx got it working after upgrading to windows 7 on my desktop

  • Very nice!

  • GOOD JOB IT DID WORK

  • Having only recently set up a wireless network between my PC (running XP) and my Laptop (runnnin Vista) i had made several unsuccesful attempts at connecting to my wired printer. I followed the steps in this video and it has worked first time - I've just printed a document on my laptop and it's printed on my printer on my desktop in the other room. Excellent video!!

  • I did what you said and it didn't work. I immediately thought to check my printer's settings and make sure that the printer was on the network. Now that it is... it works!

THANKYOU! My father is very happpy that he can print from his laptop computer.

  • what if the desktop that is hooked up 2 d printer is off will it still work

  • Ok what do we do if all the computers are wireless(All Laptops) and there is no way for the one with the printer hooked up because there is no eethernet port around it

  • lol forgot how terrible windows wireless security is. nice vid though, good job :)

  • Really Helped Thanks!!!

  • good job! you were very excited huh. lol
