I knew you could do this just didn't know how and didn't wanna waste time on it cause I didn't have time thanks alot but does the computer connected to the printer and router have to be on at fist and any other time?
Many many thanks. I've been trying to figure this out for the past six months or so and not understanding dongles, bluetooth, etc., your method is EXACTLY what I was looking for. You should be a teacher.
mine didnt work when i clicked on my desktop with the printer and router it asked for a password i put in its log in password and it says it wrong wtf
A person is better off using a network print server or buying a network card for their non-network ready printer; then the printer can have a network IP address that all computers can access (no file and printer sharing necessary). Or better yet, buy a printer with an integrated network card.
Excellent Handsome! keep Up d Good work... U are so excited & Impromptu that is why u are babbling but over all u are great thanks 4 sharing... u entertain us & made us laugh while learning from u. Don't forget 2 use this ability & share d Lord Jesus in your Life so that u will be 1 of d kings of d King of Kings. Dwell in God's Word & u will be very Successful with Peace & Joy in your Heart that d world cannot give. Cheers!
This didnt help. I amtrying to Print from a ;ap top to a printer that is hooked up to my desktop. I didnt find this helpful. If you can think of something i need to do, I'd appriciate it
with everyone else does this only work if the desktop PC is on? when i try to do this on my laptop, if the desktop is not on it does not show up on the network map. have i done something wrong, or is this the same for everyone?
very good vid btw masterasm one of the best i seen on utube!!
Thank you thank you, Been working all day with this, following instructions and nothing would work. This worked so fast. I had my printer working great but when I shut down and tried to print it kept giving an error message Access Denied. So far this has worked and it is so simple. Thanks again an old granma
You are the man!! Couldn't find anything on the web that told me how to do this right but you did. I have a Vista laptop and a Windows 7 desktop which is connected to my printer. It works! @Ventilator: make sure Network Discovery is on at your main computer, also make sure both computers R setup as home not public networks. @Darkarceus: right click it and you should see an option to Open. Also for everyone: make sure u disable password for network sharing. Need to try on my XP laptop too.
I tried it on a Windows 7 computer, doesnt work. When i view the map, i can see my other computer which is connected to that printer, but i cant click it.
this did NOT work for me i do not know what the problem is my xp has my WIRED printer which is hooked up to a dlink router and then in my other room there is a long ethernet cable going into my other room n yeah i did this n it did NOT work
Having only recently set up a wireless network between my PC (running XP) and my Laptop (runnnin Vista) i had made several unsuccesful attempts at connecting to my wired printer. I followed the steps in this video and it has worked first time - I've just printed a document on my laptop and it's printed on my printer on my desktop in the other room. Excellent video!!
thanks i watched another video which didnt do wat i wanted but you had commented saying yours was better so i watched yours Thank You Best video on this subject
I did what you said and it didn't work. I immediately thought to check my printer's settings and make sure that the printer was on the network. Now that it is... it works!
THANKYOU! My father is very happpy that he can print from his laptop computer.
Ok what do we do if all the computers are wireless(All Laptops) and there is no way for the one with the printer hooked up because there is no eethernet port around it
Thanks but it's more like pending for me
