Free energy technology exists! But the Oil companies want these technologies unknown to the masses,Go to LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM and get the blueprints for a genuine magnet motor ,take part in the revolution!
I just saw them in Québec tonight (our summer festival)... Was very impressive. It must be seen live at least one time to fully feel this music. Persons of different ages were in the audience and most seems to really enjoy the show. With a hand on the chest, Peter Hammill just said in french after a ton of applause: ''What can be said''... and said nothing else...
June 19, 20 & 21, 2009, Zoellner Arts Center, Bethlehem, PA LINE UP: Van der Graaf Generator (UK) PFM (Italy) Gong (UK) Steve Hillage Band (UK) Trettioåriga Kriget (Sweden) D.F.A. (Italy) Oblivion Sun (United States) Beardfish (Sweden) Quantum Fantay (Belgium) Cabezas de Cera (Mexico)
Its a great shame that Jaxon is no longer part of the band. However if you buy Real time it is clear that his playing was often not quite 100%. Saying this he was still pretty darn good on many if not all of the tracks.
Not in my book. What I think is that PF fits more into the mainstream of music (nothing wrong with that) and VDGG is a much more of a raw deal you get. It is unfinished music in the sense that you need to be an active listener, you need to do something with the songs, give them your own shape.
I do like PF but for different reasons than VDGG. I rate them higher but that's personal taste.
Amazing song from H To He who am the Only One - a brilliant Cd - I watched this while playing the Cd version - works well with the track. Love this band - unfriendly music but compelling if you let it become you
Was reading a book on singing and the interviewer asked Bruce Dickinson what groups he was into growing up....Van Der Graaf Generator was one of them!!!!!
Its a shame that Jaxon is now gone and seemingly for good but the VDGG trio is still utterly awesome check out the free concert footage at Fabchannel...
If you should see the skeletons of sailing ships far sinking low, you begin to wonder if the myths of all the ancient prophets are solemnly directed straight at you
I'm too young to see VDGG in the seventies but they are one of my favourite band ever. Finally I'seen them in Milan and in Gardone in 2005... Stunning!!!
I was at that gig. Best concert I ever attended. And I will definitely buy the double live CD, which will contain the whole concert and will be out on March 5th 2007. The name of the album will be "Real Time". The tracklist of the concert was 1. The Undercover Man 2. Scorched Earth 3. Refugees 4. Every Bloody Emperor 5. Lemmings 6. (In the) Black Room 7. Nutter Alert 8. Darkness (11/11) 9. Masks 10. Childlike Faith in Childhood's End 11. The Sleepwalkers 12. Man-Erg 13. Killer 14. Wondering
ASTONISGING!Many thanks to the poster, I truly appreciate this vid! I actually met with Peter Hammill somewhere in 1973 in Quebec City, Canada at le cegep de Limoilou. I think that was his In Camera Tour.

Actually, Robert Fripp from King Crimson plays guitar on a few VDGG recordings. So there is real similarity.

Anybody hear see where Bowie got the main frame of Station To Station from?
The changes and the basic rifff. Maybe it's just me then?!
I was at this gig - t'was amazing when they went into it and with Hammill going walkies round the back... amazing sound coming out of three players!

I can, but lemmings is:
A) longer than the allowed 10 minutes, IIRC
B) not as good as killer/undercover/darkness due to lack of footage sources from that part of the show.
It's still very nice though

I remember Hammill obsessively walking around at the back during the instrumental passage, and timing his cue to sing perfectly- all great stuff.
They're supposed to be releasing their own DVD of it sometime.
Pstephen 5 years ago
They have CONSIDERED releasing a DVD of the performance at Leverkusen, Germany, but it seems to have gone off of the agenda lately.
I'm somewhat glad about it - the Leverkusen was a rather weak show of theirs, in my opinion.
