Wow just had the luck of being very accessible (noob friendly, casual friendly), and being brought out in the time that playing a game online was mainstream.

Mmorpg`s before Wow.. were often fairly hardcore (dieing it meant you lost something, or gained a penalty, not just the annoyance of having to run back to your corpse in totally save ghost mode), and they were brought out in a time when only the nerds played games..

i played daoc then tried warhammer, i went back to daoc. with the ywain cluster there have been some massive battles that really get the blood pumping. imo daoc has the best pvp mechanics around.

Hi childrens world of warhamer has been created 1985. Blizzard has been created after warhammer. Warcraft 1 and all anothers warcraft are only copies of warhammer.

@trondy89 The status on servers like Badlands, Karak-Norn, Karak Azgul is still active and fairly balanced. Any performance issues are from insufficient PC power or network issues, not caused on Mythic's end. War is a fairly demanding game when it comes to RvR zergs

I like warhammers strat games, i play those all the time, but this is a failed mmo in my opinion. Oh well i can play rts's and fps's for another couple years until a good mmo comes out.

@Stryke988 I don't know when you played WAR or what kind of system you have, but the game IS NOT slow and sluggish as you suggest. I have the game on full video settings to the max, 1920x1600 2xAA and it's smooth as glass and runs beautifully even with the screen full of players. I know it was laggy when the game first came out so maybe they've just really improved and optimized it since 2008. But as of right now, the game runs really smooth.

Pretty much the limit is as much as the server can handle before crashing which only happened during initial release do to the massive influx of players (even then it was rare).

Yeah. I agree with Afflixionz. This game did NOT 'kill' WoW. WoW still has over 12 million players, so idk how this even affected WoW. Might have brought Blizzard down a few hundred thousand players, but they made up for it with new ones.

I loved this game, just don't have the comp for it. Mine only handles WoW, and not this. :(

@skill3cb9 realm vs. realm is basically a giant pvp sector of map. It automatically equals all the levels of all involved on the battleground, and you don't have to wait for anything. It's immediate, just run on the battlefield, find the place where the action is, and jump in.
