Five stars cause it looked like Amy was all dressed up for something special, although I disagree on this issue. Yeah, nobody's gonna vote on it, but 63% of Americans knew enough about the case to have an opinion and that opinion was that the pardon was wrong. Further, I don't think Clinton's pardons have much to do with say, Conyers or Leahy criticizing Bush's commutation of Libby's sentence (no matter the hypocrisy the White House alleges).
These events reflect on the party as a whole. Guilt by association, maybe, but its still influence. Presidents always abuse their privilege to pardon, but this in interference with the business of national security. No punishment for lying, yet congress acts as though it is trying to curb corruption in government? The Bush legacy reflects on congress because they are our last line of defense to such an abuse of power.
We don't forget comments like "...you can hear a pin drop in this room."
