Where is the class, this is a great step class and looks like lots of fun too, they are WORKING!!!!!!! I want to join in on the fun, where is the class
TOO MUCH FUN! My friend & I visit eachother's houses (we each have our own step) but who wants to ug it every time! Now we can share one & both have fun. I just hope we don't bump heads lol I'm sure we'll pick up the routine fast enough! thanks for posting! I'm hoping you have a few more so I can make a laylist of shared step videos!
not for beginners, but when they do it on a single step which is how they learn and know the routine, they put in their own little things which when partnered up, causes problems. But shared step takes practice and they have the option of sharing or not. That is the beauty of this class, I get to do more or less anything I want.
Love this - I teach a high level of choreography in my club. This will give everyone a great workout and a challenge as well. Am going to teach it tonight. Going to teach on own step then partner together at the end. Thanks
After reading some of the feed back i think My goodness its hard to please some people. I have been teaching for about 12years and I think this class and all of stepaholics routines are fabulous, i have used heaps of ideas from this site, fantastic work look forward to seeing more... thanks
LOOKS GOOD, if this is the main idea of all the videos i just watch, for this class is perfect, (simple but sharing the step) for a regular step class, i dont think so.
Thanks for that. This group I knew before I became an instructor, we travelled around together to find some good, mad and quality step classes and even attended the 3ness weekender in May together. So I have an excellent friendship with all of them in the class and I guess that shows through the different routines I throw at them and the way the class is conducted;-)
I love how your partner marks time and keeps the beat when he misses a step and also how he "clears" out of your way. This is such "bonding" thing when you add new partners to your list and build trust with them.
In the UK, Garage (yes that is the name of the music type) was and still is very popular.
The ones that I would recommend because they are continuous play and mostly 32 counts just some of the mixing can take you off it a little, but I work round it as it is only 1 or 2 tracks are:
Pure Garage Classic (3 CDs)
Pure Garage IV (3 CDs)
Pure Garage III (3 CDs)
Kiss Garage by DJ Luck & MC Neat (2 CDs)
Don't quote me on how many CDs in each, but I know that you get more than one.
Are you jealous? Do you teach? Just remember they are inspiration - this is not a competition to see how many combos you can come up with. In fact, if you attended many step masterclass days, weekenders etc you may realise that all the moves are identical, what makes it different is the presentation. Stop being so spiteful when people take the time to share. If you don't like it - jog on!
I'm not being spiteful, I'm just experienced enough (7 years of teaching and attending numerous conventions and workshops)to notice the fact that some blocks here are identical. And believe me, you CAN do something different if you have an advanced group. Sharing, of course is nice, I may use one or two of these blocks myself if suddenly i run out of inspiration for sth easy to teach:)
I can agree that American conventions suck (not ALL presenters - some are really good). There's one coming in October in Chicago, I'm going there but it's out of sense of duty, there's nothing really interesting there. European conventions are completely different, you go there and ENJOY. I know Cida, she's great, has an mazing pedagogical process and technique, the same Gabriela Retamar. When I lived in Europe I used to go Euroconventions by Guillermo and some Fitnesslandias.
I also went to countless conventions in my home country. Have you heard of APF Instructors?
You can't imagine how I long to get back to Europe...
I wasn't saying anywhere that this class was advanced, I would say it's (pre-)intermediate, I wrote that there's nothing really difficult there. Although I wouldn't try it with beginners:))
Well, I can't say that I really know so many American presenters teaching step, but come on, G-Force guys are ok. The other ones, well, let's say they aren't eye-openers. Have you been to Johan Jansonn or Frederik Sjeoberg's class (both step and earo)? These guys ara amazing!!!
Its amazing to me that you guys have a lot to say but to date haven't yet put any videos on to contribute to this free service that offers you a variety. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but actions speak louder than words so I look forward to seeing your contributions and seeing how great you are in a class environment.
At the moment I can't contribute with a video. I don't know if you are familiar with a way American instructors teach step...(oh my God), I'm starting a step group in September but first I will probably have to UN-TEACH all bad habits such as tapping down (whenever's possible). this may take quite some time as it's a rotation basis class (who really wants to teach every Sunday).
you are totally right, i have to say this, but i´m from mexico, and here we don´t work all right first as americans does, and about of sharing some stuff(well, i don´t do stuff...), well, i´m trying to film myself, i don't have any problem to do that. hopefully my video will be here by the end of next week.
Well, you'll have to be patient as it will take some time... I was in a big shock recently, I was showing how I teach step to group fitness manager(sounds proud) in a studio I was applying for a job. The girl was supposed to follow... she wasn't able to... And the choreography wasn't difficult atall. So if instructors level is not really high, what can you expect of club members??? If I am to show sth here, I'd like it to be relly nice.
That's what I'm talkin about, know you gotta keep it simple but with two it just looks really wicked. thanks for sending me this LOVE IT!!! Most people in my class would just stand and look too-get into it!

Awesome@! How the heck did you break this down???

oh, come on... these are very easy steps, these combinations are not really that complicated. It's only because you share a step they look difficult
aleksandralm 4 years ago
And in fact if you watch another video from stepaholic - one of extreme steppers, you'll see the first block is almost the same

what kind of conventions do you go?
First, ALL AMERICAN presenters suck (TALKING ABOUT STEP)did you hear about CIDA CONTI?, or YOAV AVIDAR?, i bet you don't.
This class are just BASICS for me, don't judge until you try another conventions....
