My dad's '57 will do a 12.88 all day long. He bought it in 1972, and with enough money left over, bought a wrecked '67 Camaro, and swapped the drivetrain.. That Bel Air has been running the MP-coded 302ci, Muncie M-21, and 4.10 Posi 12-bolt for almost 40 years.. We've taken it to Classic Automotive Restoration Specialists down in Belews Creek, NC to bring it back to it's former glory..

But i would love to get a Classic dodge fixed cause they are see alot. I see why more Chevy cars in Classic car shows than Ford or Dodge. FORD forever! What? The invincible '57 Chevy gets blown out by a lowly Ford! Hah Hah! The car looks like a no-frills Mainline Tudoe sedan. If the engine is stock more than likely it's a 272 or 292 CID Y-block V-8My first car was a '56 Customline with a 272 Y-block and Fordomatic. It was solid Raven Black and we paid $300 for it in 1963. It only had 6,000 miles on it and no rust from our Western New York winters. The original owner put it away each winter. I wish I still had that car.
@bulldogbarks55 Sorry to bust your bubble, but the 56 didn't have a Y block engine, It was a 351. The 57 Chevy did have a 283. The 57 has both a smaller engine and more weight. The 57 lost by 1-2 lengths,not bad considering all that.
@spockistheman I said IF the FORD was stock it would have been a Y-block. At least the FORD has FORD power and not a GD Chevy 350. And the '57 Chevy has a supercharger, no? How is the FORD aspirated? Carb? Fuel Injection? You do know that the 351 CID Ford V-8s actually are 352 CID but FoMoCo called them "351" so as not to be confused with the 352 CID FE engine that debuted in 1958. That FE series is he basis for the 332, 352, 390, 406, 427, 428 and 429 engines through the early 1970s.
