  • it sounds like dying cats!!!! such an over rated guitar player and to think he was actually in a film with jimmy page called it might get loud shame shame

  • If i buy a $4,000 dollar guitar and play in the same 4 frets for 4 minutes i guess i'm suddenly a Jimmy Page.

  • Mistake, mistake, crappy tone (altough Gretch are great guitar), another mistake... pfff

He is "the future of music" ? No thanks.

Seriously, if you learn guitar for 2 years you are able to do well better than this. (a better quality playing).

  • @RandallRhoads7 yeah, well, that's just like, your opinion, man.

  • Jack White is the present and future of music. And to those who say otherwise, Nickelback is on tour..have fun.

  • wtf ? scales, harmony melody ? Rolling stones no. # 17 ? how ? if he, why not me ? maybe justin bieber can play better !

PS : i know music is all about personal taste and all that blah blah.....

  • I could try to rationalize with you idiots that dont like Jack White, but it's easier just to say fuck you!

  • Jack White doesn't have to be amazing at guitar to make good music. He takes what he has and makes great music out of it. Music isn't about badass guitar solos and speed riffs all the time.

  • For all you Jack haters....how about you don't come to his videos and preach, and let us Jack lovers listen and enjoy

  • his tone is very screamy

  • Why is everyone bashing jack white? thats his own unique style of playing, of course you cant compare him to eddie van halen or jimi hendrix because they all developed their own style. Watch a documentary called "It might get loud" maybe that can change your perspective on his playing.

  • who is the title of this song?

  • @WTFjimaras123 the racontueurs "blue veins"

  • This is honestly terrible. His vibrato sounds like a cat being run over by a semi-trailer.

  • @SmokescreenAbyss

dont you hear all that "soul" and "feeling" in all those terrible notes? yeah, this guy's a joke. He's proof that if you play shitty, sound shitty and make faces while doing it, millions of idiots will think you are great.

  • Lol look at all these stupid people comparing him to Classic Rock legends. He is not a classic rock artist at all, get over it. Its very different music.

  • Bad solo like his voice.

  • This is sex.

  • @favianutube No... just no... Jack is a fucking amazing guitarist but he is no where near the level of Frank Zappa and Randy. He is better than Eddie though.

  • @rottt80005 Blue Veins

  • what's the name of this song?

  • Unbelievably overrated guitar player. Perhaps only bested in that regard by Slash. Don't get me wrong, Mr. White has lots of talent, just not in guitar playing. His singing and songwriting are just excellent (which Slash lacks incidentally), I just don't understand his portrayal as some sort of guitar hero.

  • He is legend!!! What type of guitar is he using?

  • He's not bad but he doesn't diserve his place on the top 100 of best guitarists of all times.

Randy Rhoads, Eddy Van Halen, Slash, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Steve Stevens, Kirk Hammet, Zakk Wylde... Only legends and then Jack White! It's a joke!

    Damn it!...Guitar Heroes are dead

  • Does anyone have a link for the full video?

  • Would you put the complete video please ?

  • I fucking love this solo

  • Comment removed

  • great musician.

    shit guitarist....

  • people people please please! the tone is shit because youtube sucks and compresses the audio in all their videos which is why tone sucks on essentially every video, it works in reverse,if it sounds shit then its great! if it sounds great then in reality its SHIT!

  • I can't stand Jack White as a person. I think over-all, he's a bad musician. Though, his playing style is very unique and original, when I hear him solo it's as if his guitar is being amplicated from his soul, and that's what it's all about. He's not just trying to replicate what some one else had done or is doing with their guitar, truly original.

But his guitar sounds terrible in this video, not just the screatching, which is part of his style I guess, but the guitar sounds flat, no tone.

  • @1m2a3t4t5 its youtube, they compress the audio in videos which is why you cant really communicate tone well over this damned website *shakes fist furiously*

  • Oh, God, that is the worst tone I've ever heard. Sounds like a thousand baby kittens getting run over. I get that he shows emotion and everything, but EJ did that and had good tone.

  • when i think of a great guitarist i think of someone who not only can play well but puts everything they are feeling into their playing. The best guitarist to me are the ones that play with emotion. Some of the tops on my list are Jack White and John Frusciante because of that. I know of a lot of good technical guitarist but they aren't my favorites because they don't have any emotion. Eddie Van Halen fits into that to that category very good technically but no heart.

  • JACK WHITE CAN PLAY THAT GUITAR!!!! I DONT CARE WHAT ANY OF YOU SAY, COULD IT BE THAT YOU WISH YOU COULD PLAY LIKE THAT!!! ANYONE??? GUITAR GOD!!!!! 333

  • I have only been playing 11 years and i seriously think i could improvise better than this

  • @JustinWeber90 make it happen kiddo. that's what youtube is for

  • @JustinWeber90

---- "only 11 years" How long do you think Jack White's been playing

don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of him either.

  • @JustinWeber90 ... never!

  • can you do it with the overwhleming sense of attitude and emotion that he does?

  • @JustinWeber90 He sounds like he's playing on the right chords. The rest is personal bro.

  • @JustinWeber90 You obviously don't understand the point of this if you think it's simply a measure of his ability to improvise.

  • @JustinWeber90 nuh-uh

  • @JustinWeber90 on which scale is that? lol keep practicing bud

  • @JustinWeber90 THANKS GOD!!!! my friend I am with you I mean this guy is so overrated

  • @1m2a3t4t5 LOGIC IN MUSIC?! Are you fucking kiding ?!You have not even a little tiny bit of knowledge about music. Music is timeless and there is absolutly no logic in music. That's why music is the only thing which seems nowadays great in this messed up world.I want to see you playing guitar like he does with bleeding hands and develop the mic he build in his guitar. Or try to explain how even JIMMY PAGE love his song "Seven Nation Army". Just STFU if you have no idear what youre talking about!

  • @1m2a3t4t5 why you mad about it though? certainly a vitriolic response.

  • @favianutube

Mad? He's an overrated guitar player, with no sense of logic or playing.

  • @1m2a3t4t5 logic? doesn't this come down to tastes? who cares? I haven't debated tastes since I was a teenager. trying to convince everyone that you have better taste in music is a total pathetic lost cause. get over it. everyone gets offended that their favorite guitarist or singer is not everyone else's favorite. snooze.

  • @favianutube

    So you're admitting I win? ...

  • @1m2a3t4t5 wait what? Did you have your volume on when you listened to this? That was one of the most ridiculous and passionate solo's I've ever heard. If you lived in 1969 you'd be saying the same thing about hendrix.... claiming he's a poser and all the guitarists that came before him were much better. Just because he a modern day guitar god doesn't mean that it's bad.

  • @urwholefamilydied

I appriciete your argument, though parts of it as quite off.

I would most definetly not be saying that about Hendrix.

Jack White is a great guitar soloist, it's a shame that for many guitarists, the only way to listen to them play is through medicore and sometimes even bad music.

  • @MetalHell696 playing guitar is more than "Eruption" eddie's great and all but jack is more emotional and original with the way he plays

  • @MetalHell696 wow what a bullshitter. I have that issue Jack was in the 70s lol

  • @MetalHell696 damn, you just made me lose like...all respect for metalheads, appreciate all music man otherwise you're just as bad as some redneck racist

  • @VictorC53 All I'm saying is that Frank made so much great music the mufin man-willi the pimp, Eddie and his eruption solo could blow jack shitty solo's and let's not forget randy who made mr.crowly-crazy train-no more tears-time after time in just 1 year, it's not fair to put all those legends behind him beside there's alot of mistakes in the rolling stone and great guitarists were not included on there list, so metal up your asse's!

  • @MetalHell696 Yes, eddie van halen's eruption is fuckin' awesome - and theres no denying that he is a ledgend of guitar influencing thousands. But jacks a TOTALLY different style, comparing them is stupid.

  • @ShortSleeveCircus We are not talking about style's where saying who's best and your said it for you self comparing them is stupid !

  • @MetalHell696 eh its not neccaserily the quality of the solo that makes a great guitarist, its the aesthetics, jack whites gone and taken a classic tone and blown it way out of proportion, hes got a sound that you cant compare to the others because theyre of a completely different genre, another thing is that speed does not equal talent

  • @MetalHell696 Don't get so butt hurt about what rolling stone said, they abandoned rock a long time ago.

P.S Jack just has a different style.

  • @MetalHell696 Van Halen and Randy Rhodes (which who'm I think you're referring too) are good guitarists

But in no way can play like Jack White; they're known for their blazing fast solo's and all of those fun things but they don't have any soul in their music

right here you can feel Jack White's soul coming through those amps

I never "felt" that while listening to Van Halen or Ozzie

  • @MetalHell696 With those guys it just all technique, they don't play with the same rawness and passion White does. Infact very few do.

  • @MetalHell696 They also put Alex Lifeson at 98. You style of music different from his? Fine, that's the beauty of artistic expression. However, if you gauge what you deem as quality off of what a magazine tells you, you are not a fan of the musician who produced the art but the journalist who wrote about it. Don't be a follower.

  • @MetalHell696 New RS list has him at 70

  • @MetalHell696 Nice capitalization, and grammar. Maybe Jack White can't play a hundred note per second, but he has soul. If you ever watch "It Might Get Loud", he says his favorite song is "Grinning In Your Face" by Son House and he has always been emulating that song. I will give that all those artists you name are good (besides Van Halen) but Jack White has soul and his guitar technique and sound is straight out of the Delta. Maybe you don't like him, but no one here cares.

  • which is the song??

  • i'm wondering why everyone here is hating on him, why come watch the video?

  • @demondays7 Because they hear people claiming the guy is good so they come see, only to find out the guy sucks donkey ass as a guitar player. So many tone deaf horrible musicians out there have this guy as a hero. Damn that is sad..

  • so you don't like his style, don't watch it, he's not trying to do what makes you happy, he's rich enough now where he can write music that makes him happy and not worry about pleasing people that just won't like him, your comments on youtube won't change that

  • Terrible solo. He has such awful technique and tone...it's beyond me.

  • Jack black, tenacious D is way better. :p

  • What song is this ???

  • @WayneCasey25 Blue Vein

  • @WayneCasey25 Oh hang on, sorry. Blue Veins.

  • God I love Jack White!!!! Does anyone know what guitar he is wailing on?!

  • @KacieKluts its a custom Gretch triple jet

  • it isnt about soul. <its all about string bendings and vibrato. lol

  • Where is this from?

  • You rock guys never get out of these "blues boxes", and never stop thinking it's hip. It ain't, and you ain't. And Jack White ain't.

You clowns wouldn't know a great solo if it bit you on the ass and said hello. Jack White? Seriously, get over yourselves.

  • @gretschjazzer y so mad about it?

  • @gretschjazzer Frankly if you consider yourself to be hip, then I don't want to be hip.

  • @gretschjazzer it sounds to me like you just don't like rock guitar, maybe you like jazz better?

  • He is a genius!

  • and this man refused to play on Slash's album. Now I know why, he was afraid to outplay the bastard o.O...

  • Every time I watch this video, I go back and listen to the studio version, and it feels so lame. This is so fantastic.

  • paul gilbert is a monster

  • apparently, jack white is a pretty good musician.

  • I still don;t get it.

  • where was this?

  • I used to hate Jack White cuz I thought HE was Synyster Gates JAck White was just his real name, man I was stupid back in the day :P thank god I gave Jack a chance, still hate Syn though

  • Wie machst n du das??????

  • Why is Jack White being compared with Paul Gilbert? Completely different styles of playing.

  • He's good, but Paul Gilbert does it better :/

  • @liamschulz y r u bringing pual gilbert into this for yes hes awsome but did he do that solo?

  • yea right imho he is overrated put him against PG and u'll see it

  • @syaoran9 kiddo, I've got news for you. It's totally plausible and not without precedent to like more than one guitarist. And if you're referring to Peter Green. Yes he rocks.

  • @syaoran9 Aw come on two very very different guitarists.

  • Jack White is the God of guitar, and Jack Black is the God of Comedy. All Jack's are God... and Jack Daniels.

  • jack i love ou, you are a fucking god

  • Jack only appeals to people who can only play the blues scale, are attached to the "solo with feeling" argument, hipsters, indie kids, people who want to be unique by listening to him, only listen to led zeppelin, or are not guitar players. I'm a troll

  • @ElectricTurkey1 Jack White can't even play blues scales or licks. He's a hack with absolutely no technique whatsoever.

  • @yourtubesteak Someones mad because he's not selling out huge shows.

Saw The Raconteurs at Voodoo fest in NOLA and they killed it

  • @havok1258, Jealousy isn't the answer to everything.

  • wich band of jack white is in that video??? and wich song?

  • @MenschOhneBeziehung The Raconteurs - Blue veins ;)

  • He's in the Key of Jack

  • the triple jet is one of the most beautiful guitars ever to exist i swear to god

  • I can play a guitar like that --- if I wanted to.

  • @MrMidwestgreg I can play your mom if I wanted to..

Nobody can play like him..you can hit the notes not his sound and feeling ;)

  • @000Z9A "I can play your mom if I wanted to." Well, by all means go for it --- but.... she's been dead for 23 years.

If you changed your mind, "gotmilk" & "icedog" , are right below "if you really want to play with them..." Anyway, you're right. I can't hit the notes but I can eloquently capture his sound and feeling -- If I wanted to.

  • @000Z9A "Sound and feeling" That's rich. Cheesy effects and horrible technique equal "sound and feeling". This is probably the motto of all horrible guitar players.

  • my nipples are so hard right now they could cut diamonds

  • I have a boner.

  • I have a boner.

  • no description needed.

  • I never knew this guy existed til last.fm, and I play exactly like him, he is a new inspiration, and now I have a totally new idea of where to take my sound

  • 0.09 ♥

  • He has real soul, thats why he'll be well remembered in 20 years time

  • @jamemarsh if then theres still anybody there to remember

  • @LzN16 Lol, well i'm not even 30 yet, and I hope to be around for at least another 20 years!

  • @jamemarsh i hope so, either. I'm 18

  • @jamemarsh, There is no "soul" in shredding.

  • @GuitarHeroPhenomSux I guess that counts for some fantastic songwriting too. But I suppose the multi-million record sales prove your FACT.., I mean OPINION, which, in the grand scheme of things, counts for sweet F.A.

  • @jamemarsh, If you're going to bring in sales to prove a point, then I guess Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber are the greatest musicians of all time? See how your logic fails? Shredding doesn't have any soul. Playing a scale real fast has no soul. It takes some talent. But it's value to real music, just isn't the same.

  • @GuitarHeroPhenomSux actually shredding does have soul if you want it to! Somebody like Yngwie Malmsteen wouldnt be a good example though cause he mostly relies on nothing but speed but every now and then you will hear him playing extremely fast and its so full of soul, it sends massive chills down your spine! It just depends on how ya play it! Of course if you play a really fast scale by itself it wont do much, but if you play that scale fast and you have emotion surrounding it, it works! :D

  • i WANT that guitar!

  • So i saw Guthrie Govan's videos saying that Jack White was better, but i never heard Jack White play. Now i understand why they say Jack White is better.

  • I guess he wasn't lying when he said in It Might Get Loud that he'd nick every trick from Page as well as the Edge....but we ALL nick form the previous best, trying to come close to what the better ones have done in the past, nothing new here

  • @bluesintheblood imitate, incorporate, innovate.

  • @bluesintheblood not sure just what the 'innovation' is exactly...this has been done, and done better in the 60's and 70's...in fact this song sounds very much like since I've been loving you...Zep

  • Where did you get the video with higher quality than full one ?

  • to add to how fucking badass Jack is, note how he plays the chords with his fucked up index sticking out @ 2:38 . He had to reteach himself how to play without the index after he broke it. The man is a fucking beast

  • Blue veins

  • can someone please tell me which song they are performing

  • jack =living version of jimi hendrix

  • @vxXwhitestripesXxv jacks good but not even a short curly pubic hair on Jimi's balls!!!!

everyone want to caompare to Jimi - Jimi is Jimi and only Jimi Is Jimi RIP

  • @chungazrevenge jimi was pretty average i know im gonna get shit for this but he was a one trick pony

  • i love how the crowd is like not moving at all at like 1:49

  • i almost forgot how fucking beautiful a jack white guitar solo is and then i watched this

  • Am i the only one who thinks Jack White hears a genre and decides to make a phenominal band to fit in it, plus creates as he transcends genres.

  • Motherfucking brass gretsche!

  • did somebody say shred??? what a dumbass

  • The guitar is having an orgasm inside of his hands ...... epic ... flawelessly done...

  • haha fuck me thats amazing he can shred the fuck out of that guitar

  • modern "since ive been loving you"

  • @Oriente7 took the thoughts right out of my head.

  • @300daysandnights Haha beautiful, thank you for bring me back to this, so much.

  • lol when Brendan comes in at like 2:30 im like "Oh, yeah Bensons there too...i forgot"

  • nice

  • Whats the live version where his hand is bleeding all over his guitar?

  • @dan3452648 Just search "Jack White's Bleeding Solo"

  • What guitar is that ?

Not this particular model but hte body shape. What's it called?

  • @ragrytakr Double cut away. :)

  • wow just another played out slow minor blues solo, welcome back to the 50's, 60's and 70's

  • @SteMiBar2112

But played over a cool progression , 50's and 60's were all about the 12-bar blues.

    This is refreshing.

  • Jack White is one of the best Guitarists ever, he plays so expressive his modern blues! It's great, the musician's like Jack White can be Famous today, in a mainstream period of electronic, pop or other shit! Beautifull. x3

  • the crowd is like ... wow

  • what song is this? or is it just a solo?

  • @21Placebo The racounters- blue veins

  • @beermebaby What are you basing this off of?

  • @favianutube 1) i'd like to say that i love that when it all comes down to it, jack white is a total blues player badass who is crazy talented.

    2) nothing wrong with bein a fraternity man lol

  • @beermebaby ...Really? I guess you don't appreciate music.

  • @BlueVeinGirl

I appreciate good music. That's the difference. Some of the WS music is ok. However, I'm not disillusioned by the fact that he's an amateur level guitarist at best. He's simply not that great.

  • @beermebaby its not that hes an amateur guitar player, its that he is not a technical guitar player. He enjoys using shitty beat up guitars and getting a raw blues vibe out of them instead overplaying.

  • @beermebaby

How does one measure ones guitar playing level ?

You want him to shred and play some sick arpeggios and possibly sweep-pick them aswell ? You do that and let's see how much of Your sould it'll display if played over this piece of music.

He's in no way technical, but the genre doesn't demand he to be overly technical. Heäs got this awesome tone and it's only more awesome with all the notes that he doesn't mute half-purposedly.

    He's great.

    But that's just my opinion.

  • fuckkkkkkkkkkkk

  • Great solo. I see a lot of Gilmour in this.
