This is a story I'm currently writing up (it's kind of kiddie): In the future (about 200 years from now) Earth is running low on food, water (usual stuff). Four scientists in the US Army volunteer to go on a mission to touch down on a new habitable planet, only to see that planet destroyed. They resort to going into cryo sleep, waiting for rescue. They wake up thousands of years later to find out that 99% of humans (except for genetically engineered & them) have evolved. (Keep reading the reply)

I play the piano, french horn (and sing occasionally), I also did an Masters degree in Composition for Film and Television. Probably the best sounding orchestral samples I've ever heard! But it's not just the samples, it's what's been done with them such as very clever techniques to make it sound performed and real! The orchestrations are fantastic! I hope to hear your music in blockbusters in the future (it's technically far superior to a lot of the music heard in the cinema today!)

I've loved to listen to film and orchestral music and a couple of friends laugh about it, because my music taste isn't the same as most 19 years old dudes ^^

Anyhow, I've played guitar for 3 years now, via a music school and I'm about to buy myself a keyboard, which can be hooked up into a computer. Above that I'l willing to buy Cubase as a midi-sound-software.

Are there guides, music theory, etc which could help me compoising this sort of music, because currently I only had the basics.

@kefkef5 Good on you! Follow your dreams and don't be put down by your friends. You have every right to choose the path you want to take - don't be misled by others. I'm sorry to say your friends don't seem very supportive if they don't respect your taste in music.

It a very good idea to listen to as much music as you can and follow the full scores. It's good to analyse texture, harmony, melodies, rhythm and orchestration techniques. Learn from the masters!
