@Jampop888 If you saw the movie you would learn that the apes had no intention to kill humans as directed by their leader Ceasar. They also by chance were able to get "spears" when they dismantled the zoo fence that imprisoned the other apes they freed. They had no access to guns to capture and at that point they had never seen guns other than a tranquillizer dart gun. They also were ignorant to the fact that the humans would have such weapons and try to exterminate them all.
@metalhealth1980 (dont read this if u havent seen the movie) it does if u understand that the virus had bad side effects to humans and not apes remember how the scientist guy and the dad died? it was because they both took the virus. so what happens after caesar and the apes go into hiding, the virus spreads from person to person and starts killing off humans. (there was a scene during the credits of a dude at the airport coughing up blood) they plan on making a sequel to show what happens next

This one looks to have great cgsfx. I only wish the story was more intelligent and stopped blaming science for 'creating doomsday', aka Will Smith's 'elegant virus' which wiped out humanity in "Legend". I look forward to this 'Apes', though. It's time to get away from the zombies!

The said "virus" is fatal to humans, but is beneficial to other primates. Ok, so there are about 250,000 apes in the world, and about 7 BILLION humans with guns, tanks, aircraft and battleships. The apes win with spears. Stupid shit like this is why I will not watch this movie.
side note: The original planet of the apes was made as a metaphor about humanity. Now modern hollywood has destroyed even that.
well since they are really smart really strong apes,and they probably reproduce more often and are more willing to die for their cause, they could actually do it. also, they would probably catch humans off guard, i.e. military leaders, aircraft pilots, weapon production workers, etc. until eventually they rule. it takes time for a human to learn all those things, while the apes are just out to tear you apart if they get a hold on you.
In the city the apes would do a little bit better, but there would be divisions guarding streets and snipers on the roof tops sniping down on apes. Tanks and air support would take out the the apes the quickest, becasue air craft can hardly be hit by the apes. Also bombing runs would take out streets over ran by apes. I think humans live
Even if apes are stronger than humans, I still can't imagine how apes with spears and sticks can take out an entire race like humanity and control it. Imagine a huge number of apes just chraging or maybe trying to surround a millitary blockade in a city or out in the open. They would be ripped to shreds. Imagine attack helicopters and tanks with troops and special forces like Navy Seals and Army Rangers. Apes just don't stand a chance

I was lucky enough to see the gorillors in Rwanda many years ago, the silverback boss and his buddies came down to observe us watching the females and young, it was a humbling moment. They looked at us from the eyes down and back up again, we were warned not to stare or point. One lady got hit by a young male as she took a photo using a flash - not allowed (Stupid bitch).
I tell you this they are docile but fearsome, I watched some breaking bamboo for nests with their hands, strong buggers!

This has always been my problem with tackling prequels to planet of the apes. Its too absurd. Its hard to take seriously, for starters, seeing loads of apes tackling gun toting armed to the teeth soldiers for example. I can see this doing the same thing the other crappy prequel did, which is to say, making man with his obscene amount of weaponry and technology, suddenly lose to a few apes with ak's.

@tedchirvasiu Yes, they did consider about this point. You forgot that the "virus" was highly contagious and subsequently became a global epidemic. The said "virus" is fatal to humans, but is beneficial to other primates. I am guessing, the human population centers probably became decimated by the virus, while the spreading "virus" made the rest of the primates intelligent. Actually it is logical, remember we humans never had the chance to dominate until the dinosaurs were wiped out.

But after a week... ppl would realize there is a problem, and the problem would expand and more and more ppl would hear about it. Before you know it, you have an all out war... then what would an ape do? They sure as hell cant swim on the seas... and thats where battleships are, and they could easily bomb the coasts of the world. And in cities, there would be airstrikes.

well since they are really smart really strong apes,and they probably reproduce more often and are more willing to die for their cause, they could actually do it. also, they would probably catch humans off guard, i.e. military leaders, aircraft pilots, weapon production workers, etc. until eventually they rule. it takes time for a human to learn all those things, while the apes are just out to tear you apart if they get a hold on you.

In the city the apes would do a little bit better, but there would be divisions guarding streets and snipers on the roof tops sniping down on apes. Tanks and air support would take out the the apes the quickest, becasue air craft can hardly be hit by the apes. Also bombing runs would take out streets over ran by apes. I think humans live

Even if apes are stronger than humans, I still can't imagine how apes with spears and sticks can take out an entire race like humanity and control it. Imagine a huge number of apes just chraging or maybe trying to surround a millitary blockade in a city or out in the open. They would be ripped to shreds. Imagine attack helicopters and tanks with troops and special forces like Navy Seals and Army Rangers. Apes just don't stand a chance

I was lucky enough to see the gorillors in Rwanda many years ago, the silverback boss and his buddies came down to observe us watching the females and young, it was a humbling moment. They looked at us from the eyes down and back up again, we were warned not to stare or point. One lady got hit by a young male as she took a photo using a flash - not allowed (Stupid bitch).
I tell you this they are docile but fearsome, I watched some breaking bamboo for nests with their hands, strong buggers!

This has always been my problem with tackling prequels to planet of the apes. Its too absurd. Its hard to take seriously, for starters, seeing loads of apes tackling gun toting armed to the teeth soldiers for example. I can see this doing the same thing the other crappy prequel did, which is to say, making man with his obscene amount of weaponry and technology, suddenly lose to a few apes with ak's.
