This is the version (brown tinted) that I originally saw on TV back when it first came out. Don't know why they changed it later.

Best version of the song by Paul. Most natural and breezy, and the father-son pictures are heartwarming. Talk about a song that can bring tears to one's eyes. Well, yes, I am a father of two boys. Have I been a good father to them, I always wonder. Did I always have them put it there when it weighed a ton?

Yeah, I had a McCartney hits CD that actually has a preferable version to this song.

"It" probably refers to the kid's problems, and "there" probably refers to his (the father's) shoulders. Sort of a "let me take the load for you" kinda thing. That's my guess.
