You are correct when you state that there is no empirical evidence for UFOs being extraterrestrial in nature. However, there are many Theories in Science which also can't produce any empirical evidence (Evolution, Abiogenesis, Singularities, etc...), so we obviously can't demand 'empirical' evidence with all things.
It all boils down to this:
There is no proof that the UFO phenomena is extraterrestrial in nature, however, there is proof of a phenomena.
There may be no proof for SOME...but for others..who have had close encounters..and even contact...your argument is moot..

There is no proof that the phenomena is extraterrestrial. The extraterrestrial hypothesis may turn out to be correct, but as it stands there is simply no proof that the phenomena is extraterrestrial in nature.
The way science works is that one forms a hypothesis and then tests the hypothesis. Currently there is no way one could test the extraterrestrial hypothesis, which means there is no proof for the extraterrestrial hypothesis.

This is one theory I heard of why these things have been happening all the sudden since Roswell. It was right around the time of the experimentations with nuclear fusion. From what I read, others outside earth became interested when they realized that we crazy, destructive, murderous humans created the bomb. As nutty as David Serenda is, he has a fascinating theory that the Roswell UFO & the other crash site as it's know, were knocked out by a bomb two years earlier and went thru a time window.

Stanton Friedman has never seen one either, but he believes in them. I seen three different instances. One was an orb, another one was something that moved extremely fast in outer space and the third, I saw it fly over the large lake we live next to, glowing a white light I had never seen before, and the all too familiar 'no noise'. I have always been curious about them since the late 70's and now I know that there is definitely something going on.

You are correct when you state that there is no empirical evidence for UFOs being extraterrestrial in nature. However, there are many Theories in Science which also can't produce any empirical evidence (Evolution, Abiogenesis, Singularities, etc...), so we obviously can't demand 'empirical' evidence with all things.
It all boils down to this:
There is no proof that the UFO phenomena is extraterrestrial in nature, however, there is proof of a phenomena.

There is no proof that the phenomena is extraterrestrial. The extraterrestrial hypothesis may turn out to be correct, but as it stands there is simply no proof that the phenomena is extraterrestrial in nature.
The way science works is that one forms a hypothesis and then tests the hypothesis. Currently there is no way one could test the extraterrestrial hypothesis, which means there is no proof for the extraterrestrial hypothesis.

I cannot say myself about "all" the races of ET, but I have encountered the greys. On one encounter, They were in my head..through telepathy. I do know they are not like us at all. They have no feelings nor emotion. They do not think, act or react like us.
There are times that greys can "appear" as almost regular humans. They also come as MIBs.
I encountered MIBS in '81. I was taken again. They have been doing that for a very long time. There are a few encounters that can confirm on the Net.
