Hey rholo That really IS a Gibson EH 150 amp? Omigawd my buddy had one of those back in 1948 when I first started playing. We also had a Webcor....WIRE RECORDER....lol, but um, I'm dating myself here, aren't I. Thought I recognized that amp from their video of "Stardust" but I thought...no way, it couldn't be.
Whatta band.....whatta sound.....whatta guitar player, bass player, and that gal with the fiddle.......wowza! Gonna watch it again!
I have loved Hot club of Cow Town from the first time I ever heard them. They have a wonderful sound that I try to emulate when ever I play out. I play stand up bass and love his style.
I don't know her, but he is Whit Smith, a really tasty player in this style whose tone is so legit and spot-on that it's enough to make any guitar player bum-rush the stage to see what he's playing... '53 Triumph Regent through an EH150 with little if any effects. Old School Rules. It's not "like" vintage sound, it IS THE vintage sound that he's getting.
Wayne Hancock kicks ass. Jake's doing a fine job on bass too. He ain't hitting the notes 100% true but... who knows what was happening on stage? (sometimes you can't hear up there) One thing's for sure, he never missed a beat!
Love this song! Thanks for sharing!
