Ok so you're judging AN ENTIRE BAND'S REPUTATION just by a song. Look Rise Against is Punk because Punk is about expressing one's self and standing for what's right and forgetting the insults for who you are, and how you stand on your own feet. I'm sure those bands you listed are great but don't judge.

The official music video is somewhere on YT, go listen to it and come back. This was the version released with the album, "Punk Goes Acoustic"

@t3hpwnag3 I can tell this is actually a technique called "Semi-Studio" This is altered a bit from a live session and then put out for the album you mentioned. This is different yes, but it is meant to be a live rendition of the original song, not a whole new version entirely.

I prefer the real version. They did a good job making the acoustic, I just feel like they didn't change much, but rather removed things to make it more acoustic. Plus the studio is more sonorous, with songs like this I find the full sound to add more than any lyric
