96 Impala Air Pump Delete

I just did this to my 94 z28, wasnt that bad to do..Just now my electric fans come on whenever they feel like at any tempature even initial start up and the check engine light comes on only when the fans come on? will reprograming get rid if this?

@gunshin25 Coolant lines - sounds like someone did your throttle bypass already... search "throttle bypass" on the  impalassforum for info on that.

Ah!!.. I've been trying to figure out what that was on my vette, it's located differently but now I know what that little bastard is! Had to tie off the Egr valve for headers so I guess this comes next.. Oh and, gotta love pre-obd2 cars!

so your light came on, did it effect the performance of your car while it was on? Does a person have to get a reprogram, Or does the reprogram just turn the light off.

@shotimeplayer Without reprogram the car runs on straight engine power alone - once reprogrammed for air pump delete the computer will compensate, control the injectors and everything better and you'll get better horsepower and mpg. Car will still run without reprogram, it's just not as tuned.

I bought the three peice blockoff plates from summit and i also bought hooker supercomp long tube headers for my '95 camaro z28 soo i want to do the egr delete is it the same way as in this video ? cause i dont know if there's really any difference in the b-body egr system ? I'm also saving up for Llyoid elliot's stage 1 heads and cam package and i bought a summit universal 3inch x pipe i plan on having all of this installed this spring, also i'm gonna get it tuned by pcmforless and do a/c delet

@GPryan I don't know about difference between b-body and yours for egr - best to post on the impala forum in this video's description (drop down button) and someone there will know.

did you already do a/c delete - i'm thinking about doing it on this car.

@michiganshooter i have the f-body soo i dont think the impala forum would do much for me lol. But for the a/c delete i haven't yet, but when you buy the pulley dont go cheap go for the gm.

For some reason I can't reply to djay23's post... the air pump was an emissions thing, something about burning some of the exhaust air again... water would get in them and screw things up so GM wrote up a disable procedure.
