@dcxxxo55 Salt, something with a high concentration of alcohol, rubbing alcohol should work better then whiskey, and dish soap. Mix all those with some cells in a water solution. Boom. DNA.

@p3r0uE Looks like he didn't, I didn't notice the first time watching it. Salt precipitates the proteins and carbohydrates away from the DNA in solution. While it improves the results of a DNA isolation experiment like this, I guess its not imperative. This fella managed to get some good results without our 'ol pal salt.
