  • Absolutely lovely! The time lapse of the clouds works perfectly with the music.

Thanks so much for posting this!

  • beautiful musics and scene

  • By far the best work by Barry. Great movie aswell...

  • John Barry is a master. I am so sorry he will never pass this way again.

  • I've done that shot before. This piece inspires me to duplicate it again, and even try using the same music for it.

  • This is what real mlusic sounds like and you start to cry and you need no pictures around just the sound of the music

  • @ OnePeopleOneChina

Try talking about the beauty of the song rather than history rewritten to suit your imperialist lackeys.

It's a truly lovely piece of movie music!

  • This music and video is brilliant!

  • Sadly this story took place about the time when the British actually did enter China through the High Road. In 1904, British General Francis Younghusband and his Indian troops shot their way into Tibet, slaughtering hundreds and thousands of peaceful natives. Then the British government crafted a one-sided treaty declaring Tibet sovereign and independent of China. China was only able to recover Tibet in 1949 with the formation of the People's Republic of China.

  • @OnePeopleOneChina

I agreed with you, I wish you could go back in time and stop such violence in the world. what would the world be like today.

  • @OnePeopleOneChina As opposed to the over 50 million Chinese dead at the hands of Mao. One China indeed.

  • Wow...haven't heard this in a long time. What a beautiful Melody. I loved hearing it at the end of the movie watching the bi-plane acrobatics. Love this....

  • I would have loved to have met John Barry. His music tells a lot about his spirit.

  • In my humble opinion John Barry was one the the greatest composers of our time

  • @pasgad...it should..it's the same composer...John Barry....He is known for his sweeping music...

  • @jdcc061 Most of Barry's scores in the 80's and 90's followed a similar path with most of his scores being romance ones, all were very similar, somewhere in time, out of africa, scarlett letter, dances with wolves etc

  • Licence to Thrill (BBC Omnibus TV doc)

  • I happened to watch the movie almost 30 yrs ago. This wonder got into my mind and then became part of my life. Something for me to wonder how could it be that ___. Out of all the things are intuitively perceived, beautiful music makes life worth enjoying and living for.

  • @ImaginaryGod2009 Well Said, Bravo!! Yes, without music, life would indeed be dull.

  • The adventure has ended but the music lives on. See you on the other side John.

  • There's just something about John Barry's music. I can never quite put my finger on it, but it's a very familiar underlying sound or melody common to all of his compositions, It just sounds so smooth, so perfect, and it draws you in from the very first note.

  • From the very first notes, you can tell its a John Barry score. So romantic and flowing.

One of my favorite composers of movie music.

  • @Mavrilon I know what you mean!

  • The music to the movie is beautiful, all of it. Fan of movie when first came out and all of John Barry's Scores.

  • I have searched high and low for this music. Thank you so much for sharing it. I loved this film and my only son was named Patrick, after the main character.

  • Świetna muza!!!

  • This theme is an amazing tribute to Bobby Vinton's "Mr. Lonely"

  • LOVE this music.. thank you.

  • Perfect romantic score

  • His music moves the soul and gives sound a feeling of passion.

  • Much of Barry's music is reminiscent of his other music, enough so that it was sometimes easy to tell who had composed the score for some movies just by listening. The total yearning for something lost is a constant theme that reaches deep into the soul. For my money, he was the best movie composer ever although we only have about 80 years to deal with. It will be interseting to see how he fares over time.

  • This guy deserves a lifetime "Grammy" in my book. Where's the 40-50 something Redhead in KS that loves his music as much as I do.

    Manthatdraws

  • Ah. Now I see why this sounded vaguely like a Bond movie soundtrack. Barry conducted 11 bond soundtracks. Duh.

  • j. barry is pure magic. you're right. it does sound like bond music. i have a few movie soundtracks of j. barry. they are all beautiful. i'd love to see him collaborate w/ j. williams.

  • Glorious!

  • Love this music and the movie was one of my all time fav's

  • John Barry is the man period. Nuff said.

  • you are right. you could hear & feel it. wow, these shots of clouds & sunset are beautiful. i could see these scenes when flying on an airliner. just wished j. barry did superman along with j. williams.****

  • this theme very much reminds me of Out of Africa.. wonderful

  • This is the original. Barre simply brushed this of and adapted it for Out of Africa.

  • beautiful..breathtaking

  • ;)

    ;)

  • I had forgotten all about this music. I remember it now. Bravo, jrels83. And thank you.

  • this is a very beautiful melody. this has been a personal favorite since the movie first came in the early '80s.
