In case you're unfamiliar with George Putnam, he was a popular local TV newscaster in Los Angeles in the 1950s and '60s, who was known for his outspoken ultraconservative views. He's still alive and doing talk radio today -- at the age of 92!

BTW, this 1965 film was produced by anti-porn crusader Charles Keating, who was later convicted of fraud in the 1980s junk-bond scandals. (His convictions were eventually overturned.)

We are today witnessing a Major resurgence of these views in the US. I am unsure if the reasons behind today's views are the same as in yesteryears. In believe in the past it was mainly based on fears of the unknown and misinformation. We have no excuse today for believing misinformation.
