This is an incredibly scary injury, it gives me a sick feeling in my stomach to watch a guy possibly lose his career from something like this. It could very well be his last game if the damage is too severe, but I know they will get the very best specialists to work on him.

I'm a Hawks fan, but they are toast this year, so I hope his teammates take it all the way and get him a Cup and a ring. He might not have another chance. Just don't let the damned Flyers get it.

Serious eye injuries are really rare in the NHL, no need to go overboard with a visor rule. Every year rules are added in almost every sport to pussify it just a little more. I had the same thing happen to me, shot deflected off the golie's stick. It shattered my orbital bone, detached retina, nice 10 stich gash, broken nose and a concussion.

It took like 6 months till I regained my full vision...I hope he makes a full recovery.
