  • at 0:29 the kid turning around was my dads friend

  • good

  • Looks like Chavs running again.

  • i was a little suedehead in those days....wasn't everyone !

  • Arsenal FC.Original skinhead club 1969.Proper Chels will agree

  • 16 seconds in-THATS MAN UTD FANS ON THE STRETFORD END,FILMED IN THE GAME AGAINST COVENTRY CITY FOR THE GERMAN TV PROGRAMME ON GEORGE BEST WHERE HE WAS FOLLOWED BY A CAMERA ALL GAME...

THIS FOOTAGE WAS ALSO SHOWN ON THE WORLD OF GEORGIE BEST PROGRAMME IN COLOUR...

  • name the tune please?

  • @Moonvirgin john holt-reggae from the ghetto

  • Looks like a school coming out.

  • Heya fellers I am looking to document some of the people who were actually around in 68, 69, 70, 71, and 72 when Reggae and Jamaican influence were part of the Skinhead culture If you know anyone who might be able to shed some light (firsthand accounting) on this subject I would be quite grateful.

    -G

  • @GibberSnapp

well in that case the Chelsea variety of skinhead probably isn't what you're looking for...

    They're all horrible racist cunts....

  • god, I don't know what to say, I think he went to Cardinal Wiseman's school though I'm not sure. Tommy Liston , my age, went to Cardinal Wiseman's and died around that time from the same ailment..Jez Buckley was Bill's best mate at the time I worked with him. This is too personal to talk on here...so so sorry. RIP W.O'S

  • @springycfc1 he died in March 2005 so you probably saw him at one of the last games he went to. He died of a brain tumour, but he was only ill for 11 months so wasn't suffering for long. Much loved and much missed.

  • They're weren't any firms in 69. They came much later around the start of the eighties.

  • @springycfc1 yep, that is exacty who my dad is :)

  • @bebegracie So so sorry to hear about Billie your dad. I used to see him now and then at Chelsea games throughout the years, the last being Watford vChelsea in the Fa cup 6 years or so ago. He tapped me and said "Hi Steve " We shook hands and I said "Hi Bill you ok?" I wished we'd gone for a pint now. Thanks for letting me know.Awful news

  • i love football violence. Bring back the 70's!

  • @LordRassy 80s you mean? :/

  • "We're all mad - in the 'ead - we're the North Stand not The Shed !".

And... "Bertie Mee said to Bill Shankley - have you heard of the North Stand Highbury?. Bill said no, I don't think so, but I've heard of the Chelsea ....Aggro".

    Happy days

  • This is one THE best pieces of original Skin footage! Absolute class! In the working class, street environs of football - wish there was more!

  • i think i was born in the wrong time

  • Wow! What a concept!

London full of White people !

Now many parts are like a Third World Country and often I'm the only White person on the bus and I'm only visiting from Kent1 lol

  • CHELSEA SKINHEADS!!

  • Ian Stuart - heroes never die ... RIP! Skins not red!

  • hardly appropriate::: a video clip of skinheads..your playing nigger music...

  • @sheepsfoot2 original skins were black and white, know your history

  • @StudioTwoReggae

Not really, mostly white but they mixed with West Indian kids most of the time. West Indian kids had their own style back then which was close to the skinhead style but not entirely the same.

  • @sheepsfoot2 Visit Wikipedia, it should enlighten you on this matter.

  • @sheepsfoot2

Your right about one thing, it's not appropriate... by the time this tune came out most skinheads didn't listen to Reggae anymore, it had become fairground music. Kids moved on to T Rex, but James Brown was big too! You wouldn't feel at home with these skinheads, since they hung about with some black kids and are not wasting their life by devoting it to racial hatred... they where to busy being a teenager for that (and fighting rival skinhead gangs)!

  • Comment removed

  • @sheepsfoot2 haha funner fuker lol

  • well,your a cunt as well?

  • your dad was a cunt????

  • soft cockney scum, boro did you so many times, you thick cockney scum, you just a town full of rent boys.

    from a boro top boy.

cockneys are full of crap.have you ever been to boro.

  • @rubykins1 yes mate Spurs were there a few seasons back

  • scouse scalls best terrace fashion of all time.

  • I was a regular at the Bridge 1977 to 1981. Football fans everywhere were part of a movement that really meant something.

I've been to the Bridge about 5 times in the last 10 years and the fans going now treat it like a trip to Alton Towers. It's so f*****g naff!!

  • LFC turning over Chelsea at the bridge.

  • skinhead come from the rudeboy from jamaica that moved to london... and i don't know many white jamaicans... and white people just got involved... in fact... if you listen to the skinhead reggae... they're jamaicans and most say I'M A SKINHEAD... so stop talking bullshit... it's a black movement, just like hiphop right now...hiphop is a black and latino movement shared with white people...

  • @Flama20 They say Skinhead because they were marketing to the skinhead kids to buy their records. Skinhead are from England and CHOSE reggae as their music. If you're saying Jamicains were the first to call themselves skinhead you're wrong.

  • chelsea were always in London to west ham and millwall. not to mention boro, scousers, utd, leeds etc.. lads from west london and the home counties[or fuckin tumbridge wells] arent scaring no one! a bunch of train wreckers ,thats all they could do in their day! they would be in same bracket as baby squad[hence why they are rivals],forest and the like

  • @ronyeats Ron old son, you post on every bloody video portraying football violence on here and now turn up on this one. Half the time you talk sense, the other half absolute bollarks. Chelsea fans wern't banned from all away matches twice, 1977 and 1982, by the home secretary and the fa because they were wrecking trains ffs. They were banned for cumulative acts of aggro with the mobs of all those you've mentioned and many more. There's no working class areas of South and West London, eh? FFS

  • Comment removed

  • @ronyeats yeah u sumtimes say ok things but that's 1 of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard - yes chelsea got their support from west london and the London satellite towns in the western HomeCounties - evry town there had a Chelsea mob & yr seriously sayin because their estates were there you wouldn't be scared of them - i'd like to see u walk in2 a pub on 1 of those estates.TBH you probably wouldnt get a slap because they'd just laugh at you. Yes & that even applies to Tunbridge Wells

  • I'd like to twang that kid's braces at 28'' or so.

  • respect.

  • Back in 69-70 I remember hearing of two characters called Eccles and Jesus who 'ruled' the Shed. Did they really exist?

  • this firm is west ham - I am in the clip, and believe me in 1969 even more so than in subsequent years when the North Bank turned up at Stamford Bridge Chelsea's firm just gave it up; sorry babegracie but with the greatest respect these aren't Chelsea fans. My son was moved by this clip when he saw me on it so I'll say hello to your Dad when I see him in the near future, and we can make sure we team up and run any yids out of heaven

  • Please SHUT UP, you left-wing middleclass hippies. No the orginal skins were no nazis, but they were not anti-rascist either! Thats a diffrence. They were all patriotic and hatet immigrants even though they liked black music. A contradiction, yes, but it was a teen sub-cult from the working class not snobbish hippies like you. They used to love bashing colored people and fight on the streets and salute their flag. They were not left or right, they were kids you idiot!

  • nigers did not come to england with steel toed dms and fred perrys and ben shermans there were some real skinheads that hated that niger music back in 69 thay just wanted to fight and drink

  • do u know what fascism is? the middle class swing between the working class and the capitalist class. if the working class can't offer a revolutionary way out they turn to the capitalist class and become the basis of support for the fascists. the fascists do the dirty work for the capitalists and disable the weapons of the working class. fascist middle class scum. make me feel ashamed to be a chelsea fan but i know ur kind are a dying breed so that cheers me up

  • @marxistsoldier I am a fascist and proud. We will never go away. Soon come the 4th reich shit head

  • the base of support for fascism has gone.

fascism relied on the middle class and backwards peasantry.

now the peasants and middle class are workers.

now they are mostly lumpen proletarians, hooligans etc.

fascism will never be a force again.

  • @marxistsoldier The state that the world is in (Especially England) I wouldnt bet on that

  • @skinheadhitler the base of support for fascism has gone.

fascism relied on the middle class and backwards peasantry.

now the peasants and middle class are workers.

now they are mostly lumpen proletarians, hooligans etc.

fascism will never be a force again.

  • @skinheadhitler

How soon? Have you picked a date?

  • @marxistsoldier well im a teenager living in london. and id say that most white kids i know hate immigrants, so we aint a dying breed.

  • Most white kids living in London have asian and black friends, unless they are from the posh part of London. Yes u are a dying breed.

  • @marxistsoldier no no no, if you are from a posh part of london you have black and asian friends. if your from places like tottenham like me or other rough parts, black people stick to black people, asians to asians and whites to whites. the working class mentality is not portrayed in the media.

  • You're a moron. Blacks and asians don't live in the rough parts. The white kids in Hackney have black friends, it's normal for them. It's the whites in the posh parts that are scared and hate black people because they don't associate. Stop talking shit about working class mentality, u don't even know what the working class is u stupid kid.

  • @marxistsoldier ok then, where do you originate from. and no bullshit.

  • London. Born in UCH.

  • Sums up why Chelsea fans are biggest morons in country - proud of being scumbags.

  • @canthavteee if thats the best you can do I think you should go to bed with no supper :)

  • Have to laugh as I went to Boxhill,Surrey for a climb with 4 of my M8's.

At the train station back to South London afterwards 500 Chelsea, mainly skinheads, turned up and starting chasing 10 guys near us.

We had to run down the line to and climbed over someone's garden to escape.

Lucky we did not tell them we were Miliwall lol

  • That was in 1969 during THe Easter School Holidays.

Worse moment was seeing a skinhead catching me up on the fence that I was climbing!....luckily he was one of the guys being chased!

Just as London was in 1969 as well 99% All-White Britsh.....did we all move to The Suburbs or abroad ?

  • @Isleofskye they would of known you where millwall.... the running away being the biggest clue

  • @theslice2

....and I would have known is was Chelsea as there were around 500 of them chasing about 7 guys on our side of the train station...

    Brave Boys.:(

  • @Isleofskye IT was Chelsea NOT ~"is" etc..

  • @Isleofskye 10 guys now 7 being chased by 500 which was probably only 20.... I know that station at West Humble and i don't think 500 would fit on it unless they all stood very still

  • @theslice2

Actually it was, probably, only "5" as the five of us, who were caught up in the chase, made up the "10"...lol

  • jaich bin heute richtig gut bei laune wer will mit mir chatn oder telen

  • esta bien no esta mal

  • Ahhhh they were the good old days! UP THE CHELS!

  • @TwitchCFC Dirty suedehead cunts think there well arrd.

  • @moeydogg77 yeah I agree you dont have to be in a youth cult to be arrd

  • @moeydogg77 SHUT UP YOU SAD LITTLE SCOUSE!!!

  • if u actually look at the u wont see any skinheads because they are all mods, u wankers. i was there with them

  • I'm from L.A., and we're definitely keeping the spirit alive and well! All it needed was a little sunshine. Here, it's all about the reggae and northern soul night. Barely any Oi! bands come running through here anymore and the mod scene has died down considerably. I've been a skin since the late 90s and I'm still at it. Best subculture and way of life in my book, but it's good to always hear from the original cats that got the Spirit started.

  • SKINHEAD FOR LIFE! my dad was a skinhead origional, he supported chelsea and still turns up to the bridge every weekend, and im keepin on the tradition! anyone who says that skinheads weerent anything you try and say that to my dad, he is sixty and he will still beat the shit out of ya.

  • your dad is a fucking looser as u....scum bag !!

    Fucking stupid tradition....fucking nerds idiots

  • Your dad was probably one of the Chelsea fans who only fought if they outnumbered other fans by 10 to 1, us Wolves fans have never lost to Crap Chelsea fans, cockney nancy boys

  • @america1sucks1my1nob sounds like ya dads a freekin idiot.... why would he go to the bridge EVERY weekend.... most weekends don't have a game at the bridge so i'd guess he'd be lonely..... oh no.... I just noticed that you are keeping up the tradition

  • same here , i was around that time when happen in the stamford bridge incident. i was around my 17s walking until i see kids running, good thing i was walking with my little sister when she was 5, and she was scared, so she started to cry, so the bobbies were looking at me, they didn't bother of getting me, since they thought i was with my daughter. but still i remember when it was all peace and love, just music, than the boneheads damage the image, your the future and make it positve. god bless

  • @FernyBass007 real skins loved reggae, there own dress code,it was all about belonging being someone, and i dont rember a lot of trouble, IT WAS THE MUSIC

  • @hunkydoryize1 yeah, that's the spirit, as i remember but there where some gangs and others the style, either way...it was the music as in my time at 68

  • @america1sucks1my1nob no he wont, he would probly try and bum you, thats about it

  • My Dad is in this video. He would only have been 14 at the time. If you look at 28 seconds he looks back. Such a shame he isn't alive for me to show him this as he would probably have liked it. Was a diehard chelsea fan till he died in 2005. So thank you to whoever posted this, it has brought a smile to lots of family and friends. :)

  • @bebegracie my dad 2 !!

  • @bebegracie May his soul Rest in Peace. great video. everything great.....

  • @bebegracie our hearts are with you RIP

  • Comment removed

  • @bebegracie quality mate full respect - chelsea skinhead 45

  • @bebegracie I respect your dad and everyone was an original skinhead during that period. They were the real skinhead... A lot of people think that skinhead are only nazis.... Look at this video and shut up.

  • @bebegracie Respect mate, KTBFFH.

  • @bebegracie respect Carlisle boots had to be crombie boy less hassle

  • @bebegracie respect Carlisle boots had to be crombie boy less hassle now 60!!!

  • @bebegracie He was part of something great, something big. People all over the world look at this, and wish they were part of your Dad's world. how cool.

  • @bebegracie I'm sorry about your Dad. The guy at 28 looks very much like Billie O'Sullivan from West Ealing. I worked with him as an apprentice at the AEC in Southall both aged 15 in 1970 I was in this crowd somewhere as well. Could you be so kind as to let me know if it was Billy..Thanks Springy

  • Anyone know what happened to Eccles. Chelsea Skinhead and Face from late 60s early 70s.

  • He's still about and attending matches. He features on a couple of other skinhead videos here.

  • I was just getting into that then the music stopped. Put some more on it takes me back. Anyone know John Miles, Boot Boy 1972 from Benfleet?

  • Used to be in the shed in these days

  • Shut ya cake-hole!

  • still amazed that there are still dipshits that have woken up to the cross culture link between skin and reggae cultures.

  • good to see the no brain brigade are still believing everything they read in the media lol

  • There is plenty of skinheads in london. Try the Elephants Head in Camden on a Sunday. lol

  • Isn't that the worst two to put together? Skinheads and reggae...

  • i recommend, you gather some information about skinhead culture. media just abuses that word today.

like a tyrant was nothing negative the first few hundret years.

  • I like Skinhead culture, but hate reggae.

  • then start listening to ska soul and Oi!

  • lol well they kinda go 2geva

  • Haha, aren't you cool!

  • Yes, that's it. THEY'RE the plonkers!

  • in 1970 some skins in north london sported a mohiccan believe it or not.

  • Who is this song? please

  • I think its John Holt if my memory serves me right !!

  • It says John Holt right next to the video.

  • The song is "reggae from the getto" by John Holt

  • you got it all wrong skinheads started in a alley in west long beach ca by me and my need to beat up people for what i believed in not the established gangs around like the crips ese's uso's and asians who killed i just wanted to fight hahahahah

  • Where historically does Chelsea's support come from in London, as that area unlike say the east end, has always been a bit posh.

  • south west london and the industrial sites around that area like battersea power station.

  • Comment removed

  • remember loads of skinheads at upton park west ham back in the day.

  • west ham skin till i die

  • i live near STAMFORD BRIDGE and i'll tell you there is not such thing as skinheads there anymore, infact all the white kids are trying to be black lol. seriously

  • Agree. The kids in London speak inna jamaican/pakistani accent. It's fucking hilarious. They all sound like mongs. The cockney accent is dead and buried in London. You can still hear it parts of Essex though.

  • correct me if i'm wrong but that's what skinhead was, is and forever shall be. Skinhead IS BLACK CULTURE adopted by whites. :-) KTF.

  • You're wrong ! The music adopted, was obviously of West Indian origin, however, the fashion and ideology was 100% White and working class, with an underlying unspoken, right wing swing from modernism. The movement didn't just come to support and represent British Nationalism/racism by accident.

  • Sorry mate your wrong....Skinheads were a collaberation of Black music and white working class kids. Right wings views eventually dominated the skinhead scene and evolved into Punk and all the other racist shite produced today... Skinhead was never a black culture.....it was a white working class culture influenced by the Black music. and by music I mean music, not this fucking Soulja boy / Lil Chris piss that pours out of every fucking teenage IPOD in the Country.

  • hear hear!

  • @leedou72 i hope you arent trying to say that punks are racist?

  • @bobbym47 - not original punks no. However the facist movement got a foothold in Punk and turnd alot of heads. At Cheslea in particular alot of the Punks became overnight facists or weekend racists. Fucking farcical really.

  • Comment removed

  • @leedou72 Here here! I'm convinced all this rap shi*e has put the plight of black people back thirty years........it endorses every negative stereotype going. Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye and many more must be turning in their graves thinking "why did we bother"

  • @nigerbify If you believe all hip hop or "rap" as you call it is negative, you are as ignorant as the people who claim all skinheads are racist.

  • @MondoMatty So where's the positive image from rap (hip hop if you like)? Certainly not in glorifying gang culture, second class status for women and black on black violence surely....and that's before I even get started on the way it encourages illiteracy, and bad grammar!

  • @MondoMatty Just recieved an e-mail of numerous pictures taken at weddings "in da hood"......no doubt you will eventually get a copy of it as it wings it's way around the ether, and when you do........I REST MY CASE!

  • @nigerbify Just received an e-mail of numerous pictures taken at a nazi skinhead march. Because I'm an ignorant gump with no education, I'm going to automatically assume that all skinheads are nazis.

There was never a case to rest.

  • @MondoMatty The hard truth is old chap, that ALL social and racial stereotypes exist because they have a grounding in truth. A large percentage os skinheads were racists, primarily because they (we!) were young and knew no better at the time, but fortunately the majority of them (us!) grew up, learnt to think and saw the light. By the way I'm still waiting for an example of the "positive" aspects of rap music by the way....but take your time, no great rush.

  • @nigerbify I don't need to justify myself or an entire genre of music and culture to youtube . But again I will implore you to just read even just the Wikipedia entry for hip hop, you will see that the music was born from much the same conditions as Northern Soul or Ska did here in the UK. It was and is in REAL hip hop circles about art, dancing and making music. You of all people growing up in misunderstood and maligned subculture should surely understand this. I guess you've lost it with age.

  • @MondoMatty Good grief, if anyone has "lost it" it's someone who references "wikipedia" as a reliable source of information! And I repeat, I cansee no positives whatsoever from a genre of music that glrifies gang culture etc. Any road up, I'm off to listen to some John Coltrane, Billy Holiday, Marvin Gaye and Gill Scott Heron...I suggest you do the same!

  • @nigerbify I genuinely made an attempt to bridge a gap there and try and talk to you like an adult, unfortunately it's like talking to a brick wall. You can't see past the gang culture can you? You can't see that a few artists DO NOT REPRESENT AN ENTIRE GENRE. I really feel sorry for you being so bitter.

  • @MondoMatty You'd have made a better attempt if you'd actuall read anything of what I have said. Sadly however, you have come to the debate with a dogmatic approach and fixed agenda, and therefore have failed to grasp, or address, one single element of my argument.

We shall have to leave at that, 'tis a a shame, but there it is.

  • @leedou72

If you're saying punk started from racist skinheads, you're just being plain ignorant. Don't hate on rap either, can't you see you're simply doing what older people in your day did to you? Dismissing youth music taste? There are plenty of meaningful and truthful rap artists out there who don't just rap about "bitches and money".

I'm a nineteen year old who has been listening to lots of music since I was a baby (my father a skin / punk, my mother a hippy). Open your fucking mind.

  • ha ha ha ha ha ha .....priceless..

  • @leedou72

What a well constructed reply, nothing much left to do except dismiss me because you know i'm right yet don't want to admit it.

  • thats a discrase

  • thats what SKINS truly represent . . . th real movement is still out there & race has nothin t do with it far as they're concerned . . . shame they're a small minority now & tarred with th same brush as th neo nazi faction . . .

  • r.i.p bill o sullivan

  • Believe it or not....early 1969 you couldnt buy Air-Ware DMs on Tyneside...we had to travel to London to buy them along with Harringtons and a good pair of loafers...mind...you could buy a nice pair of "Royals"!!!Think DMs appeared on Tyneside early 1970....already by that time suedeheads were appearing!

  • hey wbfc, how did your lot do this year(not the toon, the other mob, wisby(?)

    Rember the shoes called ''squires''?

  • Whitley Bay won the FA vase at Wembley....a great advert for non-lague football!!

    Yes....Squires and the ole Weejuns!!

  • you could get airware from the stores at swan hunters shipyard, but they didnt have the stitching around the top of the sole, which meant they were neither use nor ornament

  • Aye...after seeing the Chelsea chaps attire....got myself a pair of monkey boots and a Dark blue Burberry mac!!!

  • didnt the skinheads also wear Doc Martins both male and female in especially in them days?

  • a lot of girls wore 'monkey boots' remember them
