  • Now i can finally say is smoking is bad and so is your car. shame society doesn't think hive like but individual minded because if so then we would have not only safer roads but healthier life style.

Why buy petrol car when knowing it exceeds 150miles/ks only realise your either in jail for petrol guzzling car that really should be doing speed limit electric cars are those examples while they can exceed fast speeds but it's common sense in end.

  • compare car that can run on electricity and recharge based on kinetic energy from break callipers charge motor for more juice.

  • Governments are dumbest people on planet while not all things are easy overcoming but when new technology comes out they tend not fear it but embrace the it like organic food become expensive, that's understandable it's new technology while not new in scientific terms but for consumers alike it's new launching 2012 averaging around 28.000 49.000 based on countries and yes will be heavily taxed,

  • I love the fact it's rear-wheel drive.

  • it's coming in 2012!

  • Mitsubishi just announced that the iMiEV will soon be using Panasonic's new SCiB batteries that recharge in only 15 minutes. Cool. I spend that amount of time waiting in line for gas each week.

  • I still wonder why these companies aren’t making smaller(3 door) versions. I have no stats but at a guess I would say that most cars travelling on the road at any point in time only have a driver. Yeah it’s nice to have the ‘convenience’ of a larger vehicle but for a large percentage of the journeys we don’t need one.

  • Any family that needs more than 1 car could buy one of these for city use 99% of the time, the other times when more than 160km is needed use your gas car, wont be long until electric cars have 300km+ ranges

  • Well the Music is cool...not so much for the car though :D! But its still ok for big cities, but still i prefer normal Petrol motors...just because of the sound!

  • jeśli takie samochody czekają na nas w przyszłości, to ja idę się powiesić....

  • Drugi Fiat Panda tylko w lepszym zapakowaniu

  • Any electric car freak out there (green nazi in my book) - you are killing this planet, one car at a time. If it weren't for mindless, brainless, thoughtless pricks pushing this kind of crappy electric 'ecological cars' realy clean technologies could become popular. PNG, advanced combustion engies with low emisions or effecient turbines...

Good going eco-dicks, keep up the good work.

  • @ZiobroV

It would help if you explained your position. If you want people to take your side, you need to explain why these cars aren't as eco-friendly as one might believe.

  • @KnghtJackt57 It all comes down to production process. Energy needed to make a car like this, filled with batteries, is greater then energy needed to produce classical combustion powered car. If we go further and compare the power and resources needed to make both it will become clear that electric cars made today are polutting our planet more due to diffucult manufacturing process then standard cars. Effieciency is also disputable when making of the car is taken into the account...

  • wpadkitelewizyjne.ulinks.net Wejdzcie w to Polewki 120% hahaha xD

  • The biggest problem I have with these types of cars is, most ppl dont think of where that power is coming from to charge these silly stupid things.. Also most countries don't even classifi these as cars so there is no safety testing.. If you want something thats faster and safer, get yourself a table!!!!

  • It's not on the wrong side you fool, is on the wrong side for your country!!!

  • lol Um the steering wheel is on the Right side of the car. plus theres more Countries in this planet that drive on the left side of the road plus have a right hand wheel.

  • @GayBoyRunning Actually more countries drive on the right, plus most of those RHD are former british colonies somewhere in south africa driving whatever 30-yrs old pieces of junk they can find for shed money.

I grew up in LHD country, now have been living in the UK for past six years. Don't see much difference from driver's perspective.

  • @AndiPandi6t9 too right!

  • lol steering wheels on the correct side*

  • @tedro052 usa has a thing about right hand drive..... i find that dweeby!

  • It's not ugly but way too small

  • LOL I didn't notice the steering wheel is on the wrong side until 1:16. I am British though...

  • two words ugly bitch mitsubishi is my favorite car manufacturer but nissan leaf took it on electrics lol

  • Not soon enough ! USA need more electric and hybrid cars !! All gas cars to be finished with !!

  • Well were i live this lil ugly car isn't going anywhere in the snow.

  • Why do all these electric cars have to be so god damned ugly?

  • Is this going to be a review? Max speed, torque, acceleration, bhp, range? Anyone?

  • so want this car already to be industrized...

  • The "wrong side" was supposed to be a joke. It would have sounded weird to say on "the right side", since it sounds to much like "the correct side".

  • As of today - 2010 May 4 - there is still no commercially available & affordable ($10,000 to $20,000) electric-only vehicle in the United States that is allowe to drive on all roads that gas cars can. It is sickening. All the fault of the oil companies & big automakers all those who support them: everyone who votes for a Democrat & Republican instead of a Socialist, Green or Libertarian.

  • Cool video !

  • the tesla gets 500k from a recharge.

makes this car look like a gimmick.

  • on the wrong side :))) ...

  • @wzupy So what its only 1.50m width!!

  • how soon I still waiting ...

  • Maybe Brian Moody isn't such a great driver - be funny if he got in a wreck or something.

  • Really? He mentions the placement of the steering wheel? It's Japan specs! What a tool you are, Moody.

  • ... So Americans drive on the 'Wrong side' of the road? These people crack me up. Notice he didn't say "The steering wheel is on the Right Side" That would have totally confused these people here in the US

  • The fucking idiot comments how the car is Japanese, then he comments on the steering wheel being on the wrong side???

    Please someone slap this retard...

  • Brian Moody - HA!

  • thats amazing,if mitsubishi start to sell a lot that car and it proves its reliable and it has high quality ,the company can grow up more perhaps sell that the other japanese automakers

  • nice car,anything but gas.

did u see the lincvolt car neil young the singer is trying to build?i'm betting the possibility of a 100 mpg 1959 lincoln could be done.i thank neil young for putting his money time and life into this.

he needs our support as much as the world needs his right now i think.

    check out his car here

    lincvolt

  • Looks a lot like a Nano clone to me

  • These cars are being kept off the road until govts have the systems in place to tax us in alternative ways to get the revenue they would have got from petrol. Toll roads big-time meethinks? Also, they will initially be selling us obsolete slow junk to begin with knowing that we'll have to keep upgrading to get a decent car. This will be phased over several years even though the ultimate technology the perfect electric car is here right now. It will be annoyingly phased-in for profit!

  • @stopjunkscience Not true. Look at the expansion of the GE Watts Station which will create and expand upon the grid to power these. Expect by 2020 - 2025. The plan for them is you drive up, they open your hood, disconnect the cables, take your old battery out, place old one in charger, take a fully charged one out, place in your engine bay, reconnect cables and close hood. You pay about $15 - $25 for a fully charged one and be on your way.

  • @d14d The GE Watts Station grid and infastructure is going up now in cities with a pop of more then 250k. Gas stations are also being phased out. Not those in grade school today but thier kids will not know what it's like to fill up at a gas station.

  • @d14d It is expected to cost between $10 - $20 to charge up at the GE Watts Station. Credit cards, EBT, and cash is looking to be accepted.

  • @stopjunkscience We've had electric motors for over a hundred years...and this car needs to be tested?...Ha Bloody Ha!.. There's been about a dozen electric Smart cars being driven around London England for years now...still being tested...Ha Bloody Ha...our Govts aren't at all Ethically, Politically and Economically bankrupt are they? Ha Bloody... you know the rest!

  • Its funny how left hand car drivers think that a steering wheel on the right is wrong when for overtaking purposes alone it makes perfect sense from a safety viewpoint.

  • the us version i think the steering wheel will be on the left side

  • crappy review. didn't even say how fast it goes... or how long it takes to recharge the battery.. or where you can plug it. idiot

  • You could recharge the battery in car parks, and make the payment by your debit card. We already have these car parks here in Hong Kong started from last week. The recharge time is around 1 - 2 hours. It costs around 1 USD for every 50 kilometers, much cheaper than using gasoline.

  • There are a variety of plugs available at the recharge cable for the user to select by himself. This is because the plugs are not standardized by various car manufacturers yet at this moment.

  • glad they actually made a good electric car instead of those other piece of shit completly new designed ones. I remeber the i MIEV from a few years ago on their japanese website so im pretty sure the quality of the car wont be much to disappoint.

  • Yes,they may sell it to the public soon,,but they have spent ten years telling us we must have one,,soon,,what a crock of shit man.

Make it,,work out all the problems,,keep it off the market for so long that when eventualy they get it to work right,,f/me we all want and more to the point NEED one, heheheh and we fall for this cack every time man,,the cars are already working and ready to sell,,but they need us more juiced up before they give us the HIT,,right,heheheh..got to lovehow they work

  • What's the torque figure?

  • can't remember but let me tell you, it's fast I'd say under 10 secs in the 0-60 figure

only down might be driver's position, although I'm tall I think it's not as good as it should be

  • very soon my dick. they've been saying that for the last 10 years. we'll have cars soon. soon. balls!!

  • The reason that the Japanese don't commit to selling these cars in the US is that they KNOW there will be resistance from US Oil companies whom up to now have had solid control of our policies through their surrogates - our government.

They can't estimate the costs of surmounting those import problems-and so cannot determine if the cars would be salable.

Meanwhile, our car makers have been rescued from their own ineptitude-and are completely incapable of making high-demand vehicles like these.

  • I love how these people always say, "...soon" which always means another 2 years...another 2 years...another 2 years. I'll believe it when IC it. I'd buy one first thing in the morning if it was available.

  • Because we, stupid people, keep on buying regular cars. Stop it now!

  • "i think electric cars are not for everyone. many would laugh at these cars and their low ranges and low speeds and would never buy one. but i would buy one and many others too. if electric car companies hold the production of these cars till everyone would buy one, they are wrong. many would buy them and the car companies should produce them for those people."

so is 0-60 in 3.9 seconds not good enough? or 200 mile range? tell me how you couldn't want the tesla roadster? e

  • what the fu*k is he talking about steering wheel on the wrong side? he must be crazy!

  • jajaja you right. There isn't such thing as "wrong side". That just depends on the country.

  • in my country the steering wheel is on the literal right side and we drive on the left

  • i think electric cars are not for everyone. many would laugh at these cars and their low ranges and low speeds and would never buy one. but i would buy one and many others too. if electric car companies hold the production of these cars till everyone would buy one, they are wrong. many would buy them and the car companies should produce them for those people.

  • Japanese consider steering on right as it is more safer, where driver response better which right hand on wheel and left hand on gear shift.

  • Problem with them is range and charging time. if the US is going to go with a load of electric cars there needs to be places that people can stop and charge such as hotels, etc. oterhwise its not going to work.

  • Mitsubishi sells it in Japan in the summer of 2009.

It is scheduled to produce by 3000 cars in year.

It is possible to charge it in the shopping center and the parking lot in Japan.

The government will make the half an electric vehicle by 2020.

  • In the future most people will have an all electric car for in city driving and shorter range commutes and a gas or bio fuel hybrid for longer range driving.

  • Don't expect this Mitsu to arrive anytime soon. Even Japanese consumers won't receive it before early 2010. Expect to pay a lot (it just may be worth it).

  • I don't care about the steering wheel, just sell it to me.

  • It's not fun to drive, as the RAV4-EV and EV1 was fun to drive. This little bump has no room and no range.

  • very soon is not soon enough HURRY UP!

  • i heard some car company is making a hybrid car that will get 500 miles per gallon. im going to build my own electric car that will get up to 1000 miles per gallon

  • What kind of range does it get?

  • 100 miles apparently.

  • i would so buy this

  • apple should come out wit a smart icar similar to this 1 lol that would be funny

  • No, because then they'd be protected to where you couldn't modify them in any way and that would suck.

  • u dont kno for sure if they would be unmodifiable.....first it would depend on wat u wanna do to it ....second im sure hackers would get to work on it....remember when the iphone first came out......it was pimped shortly after. either way the electronic powers of that thing would be crazy!!!!!

  • ermm, what are you talking about??? Apple already released the SDK for the iPhone and every Mac is upgradable but it's not easy to get inside an iMac because it's an all-in-one and the mac mini can be opened and upgraded fairly easy :), i think Apple should make an iCar or an iDrive, it would have so much technology :P

  • nah, it wont happen cause to many people will hack into the car.

  • that dont stop em from putting out iphones

  • I'd love to have one of the electric cars. Mitsu should revamp the shape, make it sportier - like Tesla, which is british Lotus.

  • This MiEV has a 47kw/180nm AC motor that is about the same power output as the Tesla. Of course it accelerates better than the 'gas' version AND cost 1/20th the running cost of an ICE version.

  • the steering isn't on the wrong side...its on the right side you numbnut.

  • No it's the wrong side. Most of the world is left hand drive.

  • The right side is the...right side.

  • the right side isn't the "right side" for this country. its the wrong side.

  • is it allowed for us to drive cars that have the 'wrong side'?

  • Are you talking about in America? If so yes you can drive cars with the steering wheel on either side here in America.

  • It would be safer if the steering was on the left here in the US but I'm in the market and this looks like the perfect commuter car I'd take what I could get left or right if that's all there was available. Maybe the right-hand version would finally allow my wife to be able to parallel park, oops! I wonder if there is some kind of customer list a person could get on?

  • No she'd just hit things on the other side of the car.:)

  • You have a good point there, I wouldn't

want to open up an entirely new can of worms. Maybe I should just stick to doing the driving. ;)

  • ive never had got on it but the looking at the exterior, i like the smart

  • I like the Mitsu Evo X.

  • Well the steering wheel is on the right side for us in the UK, can't wait for it to arrive here.

  • Are brits and japan related?

  • The British brought car manufacturing to the Japanese.

  • I see, that's why it started all wrong there. Right hand side is a wrong side and completely fucked up.

Brits did it on purpose to counter Germany.

  • no it was the aliens, they did it
