ben, i think you should get a different chin rest, the one that's at the center, because when i see you playing violin, your chin is resting on the little bar of the chin rest, not the chin rest itself. might be more comfortable if you have just change the chin rest and buy one that's centered.

Hey, I was wondering if you could give me some advice. When I play in 3rd position, it sounds really scratchy and weak and shaky. Would that be the violin, its a fairly new Roderich Paesold, or does it just take awhile to get a clear, sharp sounds from the higher positions on the violin? What sort of violin do you have? @Trydont You just got to buy a Violine and you need to get a Violin Teacher.

And Age does not stop you from learning an instrument. But because you are 25, that means that you might have a Full Time or Part Time Job. So you don't have as much time as a Child to learn the Violin.
