Used to watch all of these great comedies back in the mid 60's on Sunday afternoons. It was called Comedy Theatre and they had all of the greats on,Abbot and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, Rowan and Martin, Martin and Lewis,Donald O'Conner w/Francis the Talking Mule,etc. It was just a treasuretrove of good clean comedy that was funnier than anything out today.

I'm with you jim21jam...I love them all too...especially Ma & Pa Kettle. Have DVDs collection of many of those you mentioned...miss that kind of real humor. Blondie & Dagwood were also hilarious. Comedy shows now seem too intellectualized.... even with children! No good raw, humor. There's no "show" in the business anymore. Thank God for those veteran slapstick comics and actors that made 50's, 60's TV even more appreciated during this age! We need it!

They just released a double video of Ma and Pa Kettle....4 movies on DVD 1.The eggg and I 2. Ma and Pa go to Town 3. The futher adventures of Ma and Pa and 4. Ma and Pa back on the farm....... Great clean family dvd out now.

The reason you won't see this kind of movie on TV any more now is that there's no sex, nudity, profanity or violence in them. Too clean! TV industry won't tolerate wholesome family-friendly movies.
