@fsudude99 I think the storm was a lot more serious then you realize. I live in Vermont which was just flooded really bad this past spring. I remember there were kids at my school who were just devastated when the homes they had lived in their entire lived had to be condemned after all the damage. Now, with all of the flooding again things are really bad for us. Thousands of people have no power and the news is saying they might not get power for weeks. Not to mention running water or damages.

@Eunnette i've never been in that area, so idk if you guys are getting flooded that badly, you just must not have the codes that we have down here. Flooding really is not that bad of a problem down here probably because of all the rain we get in the summer and hurricane codes even though our state is flat. There are some areas notorious for getting floods around here but flooding doesn't come in to play much down here.

@fsudude99 I'm originally from Colorado, and when I moved here I noticed right away that my part of Vermont has very poor drainage systems. Colorado isn't even a wet state and we had better drainage. Yes, flooding is a major concern right now up here. It's very hilly and lower areas flood fairly easily. Plus people are already upset since we've had a recent plague of arsonists in my town. I hope no one lost their home this time.

Idk why people are freaking so much over it. It's a cat 2 going to be a cat 1 by landfall >.> That's nothing. At the most it's just a really bad....well, you saw this video! It's exactly like that just stronger winds...that's it! The wind speed is probably gonna be like 60 or 70mph or something by landfall. The most that will do is maybe knock down some trees or something. Just stay inside and watch tv or play video games or whatever. lol It's nothing to worry about.

For hurricane Katrina (when it passed over Florida) almost no one in Miami lost electricity. Maybe like a few neighborhoods did. And it was a cat 1 hurricane when it hit Florida. Irene is most likely gonna be a cat 1 hurricane and then most likely weaken very rapidly when it hits land. So I doubt sincerely that you'll electricity.
