  • That LP sure looks big on Randy especially during the solo. Great video

  • Wow, Ozzy;s voice is awesome on here, you can tell it was early in his solo career.

  • I remember this show like it was yesterday. I forget which song but you can hear my buddy screaming

  • oh my gosh....I was a senior in high school and loved the oz....I tried to get tickets! sold out early!!! He was awesome. Parents hated him, class of 1981 loved him.

    DHS '81

    30 years !

  • oh my gosh....I was a senior in high school and loved the oz....I tried to get tickets! sold out early!!! Love the oz.

  • @PurpleSnowFox Bob and Lee only played live with Ozzy on his short British tour, his first solo tour ever. They were replaced before Ozzy started his first U.S. tour. So any footage you see from the U.S. or Canada will always be with Rudy and Tommy

  • i literally did not watch ozzy at all in this vid,the whole time my eyes were on god's gift

  • This is just really epic.

But is it just me or is this a bit higher pitch then it should be?

  • @Zyo117 its not just u

  • if and when I get to heaven, I am gonna kick that 'pilot' so hard in the balls....

  • @tzotzo I doubt that pilot made it to heaven.

  • @PurpleSnowFox Rudy and Tommy.

  • retards lol

  • @buzzsaw177 I remember being totally stoked about this show as it was the first leg of the tour and we all couldn't wait to see Randy. Needless to say it was amazing...Ozzy, Rudy Sarzo and Tommy Aldridge were all on top of their game but of course the highlight was Randy! When I first saw this vid I could not believe that it was from my show..brought back a lot of memories. I remember that Les Paul and his poka dot V and just being mezmorized knowing I was seeing something really special.

  • @buzzsaw177 I have been to over 300 concerts (I'm 47) I have vivid memories of this show. I have the ticket stub right in front of me as I type this- Row H seat 3 center orchestra! I was 17 in 1981 and this was my 10th concert. I had previously seen AC/DC with Bon Scott in '79 at the garden, Priest and Maiden with Paul Di'Anno at the Pallidum a year before this show amongst others. This like those shows is a piece of rock history that I feel very fortunate to have been part of.

  • @buzzsaw177 Tommy Aldridge was a monster on the drums. I remember he had this way of swinging his arms over his head that was amazing. Rudy constantly played with his right hand over the top of his bass neck, also way cool. It was a show I will never forget. They just dont make 'em like that anymore. Randy's death was a loss to the music world that can never be replaced. Those tracks still blow me away every time I hear (and now watch) them..Thanks to the poster for these great vids!

  • and that, boys and girls, is what rock and roll is all about!

  • ok now this is some amazing footae thanks so much for posting

  • Zakk Wylde said the Ozzy camp is working on a Randy show for future release and speculated its this one. Seeing this show in a pro-shot form... That would be killer.

  • @62SG do u no if they played paranoid in this show? because that would be sweet, no one has ever seen film of randy play paranoid

  • @62SG Do you know when it will be released... I think it was released in UK on December, 22... That is the last bit of info on a release date I have heard...

  • Randy Rhoads has gotta be the most controled fastest guitarist ive ever fucken seen!

  • Ozzy is singing better here than on most bootlegs I have heard including Sabbath, and I've heard a lot of them over the years.

  • @Octobersun77 the pitch was raised...but regardless your right. you should hear the montreal '81 bootleg. fantastic audio! ozzy was terrible though.

  • It's cool how you can see some of the white Marshall stacks in parts of the video!

  • I saw the DOAM tour at Madison Square Garden: less than 3 weeks after Randy died. Long Live RR!!

  • @NYGman There is a recording of that show. I have it on CD somewhere but I'm gonna download it again.

  • who ever captured this terrific piece of history thank you a million times,Thanks for sharing . cheers

  • randy rhoads is a god!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome!

  • Poor picture but great sound. Thats what I expected. RIP RANDY

  • eddie van halen sucks bag! randy rhoads DOESNT SUCK BAG :D YEAAAAAAA

  • My ticket to see Randy on the DOAM Tour was 3 weeks to late. Had tickets to see Randy at the old Capitol theatre in Passaic NJ on the Blizzard Tour, but was grounded for bad grades. Remember to study kids .

  • Yeah, in tribute it said he got all A's and B's, meaning his lowest were in the 80's. true genius and Prodigy

  • I missed Motley Crue on the Dr. Feelgood tour for pissing my dad off for not cutting the grass. DO YOUR CHORES TOO KIDS!

  • @JasonBassn

I had a chance to see Motley Crue a few years but got into a fight with my big sister who had the tickets...RESPECT YOUR SIBLINGS TOO KIDS! (Especially if your 21 like I was at the time and should've known better!)

  • @zeplinnell do you still have the ticket?

  • @zeplinnell Were you going to bring an audio recording device to any of the shows... That would be pretty cool...

  • @zeplinnell Wasn't that in like the middle of May?

  • @zeplinnell Funny same thing happened to me.... I had tickets for diary concert but they were taken away two days before the concert because of bad grades, this was in new jersey also!

  • @zeplinnell man you should have ran out to see the show !

  • Last i heard the guy that filmed this does have the whole show.... sources from japan state that he was killed in an auto crash and the tape has been lost forever or thrown out by family not knowing what was on it. I beleive it otherwise the whole show would of been on youtube long ago.

  • joebangleec hey regardless of the faster speed of the tape this is a great show. Any one know where the rest of the show is?

  • this is awsome to bad i was born 30 year 2 late -.-

  • welcome to the club lol.

  • I was born about 4 years too late. Damn!

  • i was born 30 years too fucking late man :@

  • on the super 8 tape this was recorded on, as with a lot of super 8 film at the time, the play back is slightly faster. thus the pitch of the sound is actually raised, slightly. listen to the bat's head soup or tribute album for the correct speed. nonetheless, rr & ozzy [as with msot bands] did play all things slightly faster in concert.

i would like to start a project to trace back the old rr/ozzy videos to the actual person who filmed them. there is a strong chance he has more stuff!

  • heres some info ud like to know i guess. there were some professionally recorded stuff, ozzy r whoever owned them gave them to vh1 to do a documentary on, and vh1 "lost" them. i say we raid ever vh1 place in the us till we find it! lol. but chances are many diff guys recorded these things. but im sure if u found them, theyd have more. the easiest thing is to track this vid and find the first post of it where it originated, then contact the uploader.

  • thank god the person behind the camera knew to keep randy in the sot the whole time thanks for the awesome video of randy people like you keep him alive in our hearts and souls - rip randy rhoads

  • Holy shit can ozzy hit ONE of these notes today?

  • He cant even hit them tuned down... RIP Randy

  • Whoa! Usualla Ozzy guitarists have to tune down to make it easier on ozzy. This is the first time ive ever heard it actually tuned UP!

    RIP Randy

  • Monster!

  • randy rhoads lives forever

    the six string god

  • R.I.P. Randy, you will live forever in our hearts, minds, souls and music that we cherish and play along right with you.

  • thers not much video footage of randy rhoads so enjoy this as much as you can! theres so little.

    long live RR

  • and the sound

  • too bad the video quality sucks

  • Awesome man! ... chek out some of the vids of me playin geetar! lol... and maybe subscribe if ya want

    :p

  • Does anyone know of any interviews where EVH talks about Randy Rhoads?

  • There's an interview on youtube -

Edward Van Halen Interview 1982 Part 5

  • EVH avoided talking about Rhoads quite a bit almost annoyed having him mentioned or asked about during his(EVH's)interviews.I read somewhere that Randy confided in his close musician friendsthat he thought that George Lynch was a much better player than EVH.

  • You Tube just removed the 2 really cool Mr. Crowley 'picture disc' EP Tracks that were posted. You can still leave messages, if you have it book-marked the old fashion way, click on the Picts above left.

  • randy could play circles around eddie van halen. randy rhoads was a sweet, mellow, humble guy who had a pure passion for music. he never had the attitude or the ego that eddie van halen has. randy was the best guitar player ever. hands down.

  • Guitar Player Magazine Just had a Poll for the 40 Best Rock Metal Live Albums and there was not even an honorable mention for Tribute! Absolute Stupidity. 20 Years ago Tribute Won Best Rock Guitar Album.

  • Hey Hey.... It says it all when listening to Randy vs Eddie who replicates the studio version??? HAHAHA RANDY !!!

  • That's because Randy got it right the first time!

  • Hendrix Halen and Rhoads I know eddie breathed a sigh of relieve when he didnt have to compete with Randy :)Not only did Randy have the chops he was a very melodic guitarist unlike Halen.

  • I was at this concert in May of '81. Ozzy played two shows that night and Motorhead opened both shows. I had front row dead center for the first show. What an experience! I was mobbed!

  • He is two guitarists in 1 his guitar work was fast clean and his switching was fast and smooth.I will never forget the day Randy died. After all this time I still think about him a lot.He was truly the best.

  • this is the first time ive ever see RR rather than reading about him, its a time machine! you want to scream at him.. DONT GET IN THAT AIRPLANE!!

  • probably the 2nd most influential guitarst of the 80s after Eddie Van Halen.

  • eddie self taught , randy never sold out like eddie did

    randy still the best

  • I think randy was the best of the 80's but Stevie Ray Vaughan was probably more of an influence though.

  • Stevie Ray more of an influence? To who? Blues and Hendrix fans? Apples and fucking oranges.

  • theres only one word for randy and that = legend

  • Jesus CHRIST, he could play clean. You can hear every note played clearly, even with the heavy distortion.

  • Diary of a madman: "paranoid live with Randy Roads, over the mountain flying high, you can´t kill rock' roll"

  • Randy was way over the top. Most guys can go fast but with no feel, Randy just pushes the guitar around and throws every lick, feel and tone imaginable in to a song. Ozzy had to feel like this was Utopia.Cause Black Sabbath was heavy but very elemantary. Thanks for the video.

  • WHo cares about the quality of this video. This is VERY HARD to find stuff on Randy Rhoads. As a matter of fact anyone out there with decent condition Rqandy footage of this concert please comment below and ill respond. Im looking for anything Randy rhoads. Mainly concert footage like this thanks !Hope this is ok to post this request. If not I apologize and take it off the board. It is a request for Randy material thats it.

  • I agree man, 3dEnthusiast, it would be better if you cleaned up your wording! A video shot from the audiance is going to be lousy, granted. Considering the vantage point, I'd say it's better than most!

  • can't complain here, as far as I'm concerned slash is good but I have never seen a les paul put sounds like that out. he was and is the man hands down. revolutionary,? Randy I miss you every day. NO ONE WILL EVER TOUCH THAT no one
