I think this movie is continuing the tradition that Blazing Saddles started, that being a laugh-out-loud funny western movie, with a killer cast, and soundtrack. On a side note, two of my favorite Country Music songs, Tracy Lawrence's "Renegades, Rebels, And Rogues," and Clint Black's "A Good Run Of Bad Luck," came from this movie. I don't know exactly what you meant with'this P.C. shit',LilWitch1979,but i guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion ofcourse.I stick with the fact,that Natives are given the wrong referrence,because the word Indian,refers to India.Besides,it were white men that gave this name to the Natives,while stealing off their land .I can't imagine any Native to be proud of such a name,that wronged somuch for them.The land still belongs to First Nation People.Period.

As you point out, "Indian" is a misnomer. Lots of American Indians call themselves Indian anyway. It may be technically wrong, but it's not widely perceived by us as being a derogatory term. If not referred to by tribe, many of us prefer to be called American Indian rather than Native American (a U.S. government label). Anyone born in the U.S. can claim to be Native American, just as the late non-American Indian actor Charlton Heston did. BTW, I am Eastern Cherokee & Catawba.

just to explain this from a white person's point of view...us whites can't keep up with what you all want to be called---it changes--and how would we 'know' what you want to be called...I read a lot about Indian history and I STILL can't figure out what to call them when I talk to them !

I appreciate your comment. You're not the first person to tell them that they don't know what terminology to use. I tell people in an inoffensive way I prefer to be called American Indian. That applies to everyone, including American Indians/Native Americans other than tribal elders.
