I honestly can't tell yet. I"m looking for a new mic myself and someone is selling a blue baby bottle on craigslist. I know the sound I'm looking for, but to get there you need to use a high quality (tube?) preamp, a lot of compression and maybe noise reduction. Ya need all these things working together to critique a mic.

You sound best facing the mic. But what I was listening for was sibilance of the mic itself. And I'm blown away by how transparent and smooth this mic is on your sibilance ("s" sounds). Smooth as a baby's butt.

actually you shouldnt call it a baby bottle cuz that another microphone....youll just get people confused...yours just a bluebird...the baby bottle is better and more expensive than the bluebird.

It sounds really good when you start talking up close. I have a baby bottle microphone which was more expensive than the Bluebird but I think that the Bluebird has a better sound from what ive herd.

Damn. I was doing a sound comparison to Blue's Spark Mic... I thought the Spark sounded muddy... this thing sounds great... how does it sound recording acoustic guitar? An acoustic drum like a bongo? Tabourine?

@ZildjianGretsch That was in the old days of analog recordings, or low bit depth digital recording. With 20 or 24 bit depth it doesn't matter. It's still true if you record in only 16 bits, though.

dude i have an mxl 990 running to my tascam us-1800 audio interface and when i listen to my recording the sound is only coming from one side (left)

@Frokeyman92 i had the same problem... it's because the interface has sum problems or its broken...i bought a usb connector the one i bought it's called the blue icicle. its really good it makes your mic sound beter too cuz its a preamp as well. i say buy this or buy a new interface..if you want to hear how it sounds come listen to my songs...

@Frokeyman92 if ur using fl studio u can open up a preset called stereo enhancer and it makes both side equal thats wat i do to fix that problem

The sound quality is great! Very clear. I can hear it well but it should be louder when you are not talking right at the microphone.
