@NaturalMan1488 I didn't think it was special to Caucasion ethnicities, I most certainly thank you for your very enlightening and genial contribution.
Jau, dettane var ei god frilynd låt - som han Ringnesen hadde satt god pris på. Stamping var au i god tradisjonell takt det, ein skulle kan hende hell ha bruka tresko
Hehe ok so imagine you played your whole life and your like a 90 year old fiddler really drunk and happy for what might be the last time.. What would your feet do while playing the fiddle?
Guess this never caught on in the innlands since i never heard this kinda stomping before. I might be wrong though.
Anyway it intrested me atleast. so now il go do research on Norwegian folk. Guess it served it purpose ine one way or another :p
I know the stomping is part of the Norwegian style but it's just so ridiculous. Either ONE of them keeps changing the time or their just doing it for fun, regardless of timing. Still great though. 5/5
they're just kidding with the the disharmonic rythm/stomping.. it must be!:D im norwegian, and i've heard alot of folk music, and disharmonic rythm is not a part of it.:P
the first video cameras came out around that time. this is the type of quality that one would expect from those first ones. we saw a really cool example once in class about a guy laying food out on his hall way. don't remember the point of it though...
It's awesome. YOu guys (youtubers) don't know anything about norwegian and scandinavian folk music. Otherwise there wouldn't be comments about stomping, and it wouldn't be that hilarious to you. Educate yourself!
I don't think it is funny, but the stomping doesn't seem to compliment the music in any way (bad rhythm). My guess is these two just weren't very good at it. Stomping is used quite effectively in Faroese folk music and obviously shares roots with Norwegian folk music.
It's not that I want to give you a hard time or critisize your musical knowledge, but trust me: this is not a part of any form of norwegian folk music, it is a joke. I guarantee that, as a norwegian with a strong interest in folk music.
@Ikkeroger The tune at the end is an unusual version of a Norwegian folk tune so widely played that it's ended up in Shetland tradition too. I don't know its name, but there are obviously bits of Norwegian folk tradition you've missed out on.
This is about the funniest/ sickest thing I've ever seen, omg I just think they're kidding around. I'm norwegian and I swear I've never heard anything like That before! It sounds like that title should be "a piece on the tortured dying cat".
Endangered Norwegian Folk music? Why is it reffered to as that? Is it becoming a lost art? How sad that would be. :( A folk group at Disney's Epcot plays Norwegian Folk at the Norway pavilion almost everyday. So at least it's being showcased in the U.S.! I love the sound of it!
that was funny !! i liked it...how come norwegian fiddle /folk is endangered, when there's great in-time foot stompin like that to be had?? lol ha ha ha det var fin rytm !
