  • this is new ... prolly recordeed in 2008

  • this is too funny!

  • rare footage?

bullshit he's wearing modern jeans :D

  • Oh god...

  • This is brilliant ! Like the South American band in the Fast Show, it is really very hard to play something badly when you are actually very good.

    You try it.

Yeah, we do understand it is not REAL folk music.

  • ROFL yeah this is definitley a joke. Norwegian folk is actually pretty awesome.

  • Great, fags makin fools of themselves on youtube. There isn't nearly enough of that going on.

  • Please dont say some people believe this is not a joke.

  • haaaaahahaha, trampinga ga meg latterkrampe.

  • im sorry but it is people wearing moddern day thing with modern day equipment not haveing any actual norwegian song tools

  • Bare bra! Hahaha

  • lol

  • Got Roaches, Fleas Termites? call Sven and Oles Scandinavian extermination services

  • This is just hilarious! :)

  • This is just hilarious! :)

  • Kjempebra! So good to see this, and realize that our Lag is actually better than these guys on Ringnessen...! Takk skal du ha! :P

Genial!

  • it endangered cause its shit

  • Haha.

  • Who said Norwegians have no sense of humour?

  • hahahahaha!!! greetings from a norwegian..and the acordionplayer is from my hometown.....he is actually a great musician :)

  • Brilliant, bravo! Long live Norwegian Ffolkk.

  • Ahahah Stian Carstensen og Ola Kvernberg e awesome folk :D

  • hahahah xD

  • AWESOME!!! This made me laugh so hard I still can't stop. 5 stars!!!!!

  • I think it's the rhythm that's endangered rather than the folk music.

  • thats definitely not 1967

  • Thats got to be FUCKING hard to stamp out of time so well.

  • this is bloody hilarious!!!

  • wtf with them retard-feet?

  • And they say white people have no rhythm....

  • @ReverendMadamMel this video is a joke. White people actually have more complex rhythmic skills than any other people on the planet.

  • @NaturalMan1488 I didn't think it was special to Caucasion ethnicities, I most certainly thank you for your very enlightening and genial contribution.

  • @ReverendMadamMel

    Uhhhh, who?

  • @ReverendMadamMel Their trying to stomp a mouse on the floor you bloody idiot!

The song is called "the mouse-stomping song"

And please don't take anything of what i just said serious :D

  • This is fun.

Well done Stian Carstensen great joke!!!!!!!!

  • Genius. Brilliant. A fine homage to a fine folk tradition.

  • I didn`t know that Elvis played fiddle...

  • EPIC COMMENT!

  • Besides that, any moron can see it isn't from 1967.

  • Eurovision Song Contest, Katowice, 2010

  • lol @ Stian - coolest guy on the planet!

  • i love norway and the musik too ^^

  • Haha! It's a joke fer chrissake.

I recognice approximately two Norwegian jazz musicians.

  • maybe they had a cockroach infestation?

  • Haha, i can't believe people actually think this stomping is part of the music :P

It is a joke they thought would be funny to film and pretend it was original....And it is funny:)

  • Hehe ok so imagine you played your whole life and your like a 90 year old fiddler really drunk and happy for what might be the last time.. What would your feet do while playing the fiddle?

Guess this never caught on in the innlands since i never heard this kinda stomping before. I might be wrong though.

Anyway it intrested me atleast. so now il go do research on Norwegian folk. Guess it served it purpose ine one way or another :p

  • I know the stomping is part of the Norwegian style but it's just so ridiculous. Either ONE of them keeps changing the time or their just doing it for fun, regardless of timing. Still great though. 5/5

  • they're just kidding with the the disharmonic rythm/stomping.. it must be!:D im norwegian, and i've heard alot of folk music, and disharmonic rythm is not a part of it.:P

  • As a musician, I know that's really hard to execute. WOW!

  • Ha ha, jolly good show indeed.

  • "recorded in a small village on the west coast of Norway, 1967"

At least you could have used a camera of that time... would look more authentic, you know.

  • the first video cameras came out around that time. this is the type of quality that one would expect from those first ones. we saw a really cool example once in class about a guy laying food out on his hall way. don't remember the point of it though...

  • It's awesome. YOu guys (youtubers) don't know anything about norwegian and scandinavian folk music. Otherwise there wouldn't be comments about stomping, and it wouldn't be that hilarious to you. Educate yourself!

  • I don't think it is funny, but the stomping doesn't seem to compliment the music in any way (bad rhythm). My guess is these two just weren't very good at it. Stomping is used quite effectively in Faroese folk music and obviously shares roots with Norwegian folk music.

  • disharmonic rhytm/stomping is part of the Norwegian folk.

  • It's not that I want to give you a hard time or critisize your musical knowledge, but trust me: this is not a part of any form of norwegian folk music, it is a joke. I guarantee that, as a norwegian with a strong interest in folk music.

  • I've seen Norwegian folk band stomping but they sure are not in rhytm, that might be joke , yeah

  • tempo

  • @Ikkeroger Does that not explain how this is endangered? XD

  • Comment removed

  • @Ikkeroger The tune at the end is an unusual version of a Norwegian folk tune so widely played that it's ended up in Shetland tradition too. I don't know its name, but there are obviously bits of Norwegian folk tradition you've missed out on.

  • they should be endangered

  • Herregud! Dette er verdens beste video!

  • Det var moro!

  • no sound at all :S

  • Great music, if the stomping hadn't been there i would record this.

The guy on the right is just freakin killin me

  • this is ******* funny never laughed so much in years (that was a joke) buut it`S funny anyway

  • What sucks is that clearly these two know what they're doing and I'm sure they can JAM!! Give us a real JAM guys!

    It is hilarious, none-the -less!

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha

  • hahaha this is fake

  • Hehehe:) fliring!

  • haha

ER det SÅÅÅÅÅÅ vanskelig å trampe takta?

  • hæhæhæ

  • Ha ha

  • hehehe

  • love the feet stomping!!!! very funny!!

  • Uh its done for a reason, its part of the music...

  • uswually it is but this is bullshit

  • This is meant as a joke. The foot tramping is completely "off" the beat.

  • no...you just have no history

  • You don;t seriously think this was serious do you? wtf? Anyone can see its a "joke" and is not 40 year old footage!

  • hahah......it's a joke.....

  • HAHAHA

  • faen dokk sug!

  • this was really funny !! how can they play so well and stomp so terrible? uff da

  • to evryone who didn't understood what they was doing with their feet...its all a joke!!

    XD

  • Hahahahahahahaha what the hell is with the feet? :D

  • This is what american line dancing was copyed from, back in the 19th century when the scandinavians invaded the mid-west!

  • This is the oddest rendition of Ringnesen I have ever heard. If they could leave the feet be, it would be passable!

  • @sverdslynger - Hallo....?! It's called comedy.... forstår du det ikke?

  • HAHA! døds bra:D

  • This is about the funniest/ sickest thing I've ever seen, omg I just think they're kidding around. I'm norwegian and I swear I've never heard anything like That before! It sounds like that title should be "a piece on the tortured dying cat".

  • Hahahahahahaha!

  • Okay, I think I just figured out why this is endangered! lol...

  • Is this a springar?

  • this is HILARIOUS.

  • This is colossal! I love it.

  • This is a joke? yes? Because no one in their right mind would stomp like that.

  • Ah us Norskes do things a bit differently

  • Vakkert :D

  • yeah! i would like to know how this song is danced...!

  • @ProphetCassandra - Do a YouTube search for Reinlender, and you will see.

  • I envy your sense of rhythm.

  • Endangered Norwegian Folk music? Why is it reffered to as that? Is it becoming a lost art? How sad that would be. :( A folk group at Disney's Epcot plays Norwegian Folk at the Norway pavilion almost everyday. So at least it's being showcased in the U.S.! I love the sound of it!

  • @rohirrim11rider - Norsk folkemusikk er jo fantastisk! - Når det spilles godt! Google-search "Landskappleik" and you will find the good stuff....

  • jaevli bra! det er jo ola kvernberg!!

  • NO SKRALLAR DET I BERGET!

  • that was funny !! i liked it...how come norwegian fiddle /folk is endangered, when there's great in-time foot stompin like that to be had?? lol ha ha ha det var fin rytm !

  • Is there a big roach infestation in Norway?

  • Ok so.... this is a dry joke? Ya, a joke, has to be

Hihi. Folkemusikk er konge dog!

  • Ha. No one is as pigheaded and stubborn as my fellow Norwegians.

  • hihihi

  • Hshahahahahaha
