nice work ! Yes, I agree with Octave 4, be cool, if anything let's see you post a video reply of you playing it better, otherwise, unless it's constructive criticism that's nicely stated, you know what to do with it...
Hornman64...My mother would especially love to see the reel to reel's of the old spectaculars of years ago! Any chance of those being transfered to DVDs and uploaded to Youtube??? Please!
My mother and I were both members of the Choir when Dr. Klausli was alive and playing the fabulous organ in the old church. We sang in the Plymouth Congregational Choir for more than 10 years. Does anyone know if there are any videos posted from those years or of Dr. Klausli playing? Thank you.
I never knew Klausli, I came around a few years before Oelschlager came in, who got me started on the organ. I have heard many wonderful stories of Klausli and the choir when it was under his direction
So did I and my brother. That old Kilgen was a good sounding instrument. Dave Rafferty, son of Brad and Helen Rafferty. Nice playing on that piece. I don't know about videos of the Klau, but I have some cassettes , from reel to reel of our old spectaculars of years ago.
@Hornman64 I don't know of any videos, which would have to be film in those days. All I have was poor quality audios transferred from R/R to cassettes, now to CD. Sure brings back memories.
Sounds great, Joe! I think we *sort of* "ran into" eachother at the ATOS Convention in Indy last summer...but never got the chance to meet...you are a fine organist, indeed! Keep posting! I've always loved a good Casavant! :-D
When I was an organ student, transcriptions were "verboten" Of course I played this peice secretly (from the aptly titled "Everybody's Favorite Organ Pieces" ) because it is just plain fun. We almost killed the organ with an overdose of Scheidermann. I'm glad that transcriptions have made a revival on the concert scene. (BTW try playing the reed solo in the 16' register (tenor octave) for a nice contrast)
you are a brilliant organist...iv watched many of your vids and really enjoy them...denni2579 needs to get off his high horse and realize tallent..he probly plays every note exactly as written..booorrriinngg!
Do you ever read music or just play by ear ? Sounds Terrible mate.. I love this piece and its played so badly.. Why dont you do some serious practising and get everything right? :-)
Not being critical but from one organist to another dont put up stuff like this.. You have a great talent. Use it properly
Fred Swann, E. Power Biggs, Virgil Fox, Alexander Schriener, Richard Purvis, Richard Elsassar, Joseph While, George Faxon, Arthur Howes did not use music either. Lynwood Farnham. Would you suggest to them that they should read music. This boy is having a good time. Let's enjoy without too musch critique.

I WOULD IF ANY OF YOUR SUGGESTED ORGANISTS SOUNDED LIKE THIS !!! BUT THEY DONT now do they ?? So please stop posting silly comments like the one you have just done..
And stop patronising the boy and let him know that he needs to sit down and practise.. what kind of organists are you guys ????
You are right, They don't. All but one are dead for the last 10 years or more. Likely you have not seen or heard any of them live - as I have. I have heard them all make mistakes without criticism. This is not a recital. Give the kid a break. This is off the cuff fun.
My Suggested organists are highly acclaimed professional performers and teachers. There is a difference between a professional and one who is playing and posting for enjoyment. We should recognize this and accept the performance for what it is. Yes, by all means have high standards. Give good advice, not harsh criticism. this is a fun performance & no one is paying for it. Pay $20.00 & criticize as you will. Yes, help the boy learn - U teach him what he needs to know, not just cut him down
