I'm confused about why it's considered offensive that Amos and Andy were voiced by white men. The Simpsons have ethnic characters voiced by whites and I have never heard a complaint about that. I won't excuse the thick lipped caricature, but this story, like a lot of Amos and Andy stories, is standard sitcom/cartoon fair. Amos and Andy aren't depicted as bright, but neither are Homer and Barney or Fred and Barney or Ralph Cramden and Ed Norton. The drawings are bad, the story is funny.

Over my life's work history I have worked with several real African's and have little respect for what African-Americans. A lot of what is today called racism had nothing to do with racism in its day. In 1963 while in the military everybody enjoyed the show Amos n Andy even by the black population. Another intersting tidbit is that "Speedy Gonzales" was canned from the Cartoon Network because of the stereotypical depictions of Mexicans. However, it remains very popular all over Latin America!
