I live in nebraska (omaha) and we have a HUGE co-op. If you google us you'll see it. Its 40 dollars a year plus 10% tax on each other, you get to pick out what you want each week from a list of available items. Then volunteers bring it to various areas in the city you can pick it up from. They will also deliver it to you if you are disabled or have a good reason why you cant pick up.
They are a bit pricey, and im not currently a member, but I will be as soon as I can!
@faylinameir I do shop at the local farmers market (which all the same vendors go to) and sometimes its actually cheaper since they dont have to pay all the fees for the co-op. Unfortunately NEbraska is very cold, so the FM is only like June-Oct =-(
I wrote a blog on it....see my blog and search 10 steps to start an organic produce co-op and it will bring it up. I can't paste the link in these comment boxes.

do you get to decide what you want?..or they just pack your basket?
StrawberryBigMac 3 years ago
All the baskets are the same, however we are able to make suggestions on future orders.

Yes, you got some Avacados, they're good for you and low in fat ;D I hope you eat 10 of them a day Inspire2Act ;P
I tried an organic avacado, not my thing. Though they are survival food, one bite and you won't be hungry for 6 or 7 hours, fills you right up.
