Whats your point in posting this comment? That the Bible has contradictions? I know it does. If I didn't believe that I would be a lot less tolerant...
My friend, pardon me for saying so, but you are quick to jump to the wrong conclusion. I was posting this to illustrate that the Bible says to love thy neighbor and thy enemy, and to complement what was posted in the video.
And you are a Christian! Why do you take offense to the Words of Christ?
And I see no contradiction whatsoever in what was said in Matthew chapter 5.
Ah, I read it wrong, the verse I mean. I know this verse. I thought you were posting a few verses, where one says to hate your enemies, and love your neighbors, and a totally different one that says to love all. Do you see now why I thought you were bringing up a contradiction in the Bible?
Even if you didn't, I would not care, and I don't believe the Heavenly Father would care much either. I have trouble believing God really cares what we believe. Its kinda creepy to think God is obsessed so much with what we believe that he'll send us to hell for not believing the right things. Instead, I have come to believe God cares about our actions, and that will land us in heaven or hell.
I look at it this way. God loves us. He sends a Messenger saying "don't walk off the edge of that cliff." Some don't believe that the letter is from God and walk off the cliff. Some say that they believe it but still walk off the cliff. Some walk off the cliff and resent God for putting a cliff there.
But in the end, I don't think we should be mad at God for not wanting us to walk off the cliff. It comes down to a matter of trust, and people have difficulty with that.
