Inva Mula's pronunciation is not very good but vocally, she is probably one of the best Marguerite of the ast 30 years ... Alagna is mediocre, as usual ...
@koelschwolf As stated in the summary, it's a representation in Orange's ancient theater, in France, during the "Choregies d'Orange", August 5, 2008. It was broadcast live on television but no DVD planned.
the chorus is basically the angels of heaven saying margarite has achieved salvation even though she killed her bastard that faust impreginated her with
@hapreh That's because she finally came to her senses and realized the terrible crime she had done and felt remorse and repentence. That's why she asked, "God forgive me". That's why God had his angels say she was saved because she repented of her evil deed.
What in the world is this??? Today it seems to be popular to take a composer's creation and twist it into something totally unrecognizable from the original libretto.

Alagna is truly not singing well. Seems like most lyric tenors start pushing soon after becoming famous; few recover. Is this the fault of their egos, the lack of understanding from the institutions that should be nurturing them, or is it due to some decadence because the art form has been stagnant for so long? Or for some other reason?
Bravi to all of them. Much more impressive than last production in Vienna October 2008. Here Alagna sings with power and enthusiasm from the beginning to the end, in Vienna he seemed to be pushing high notes and working hard in the aria in the 2nd act). Fortunatelly his voice gradually loosened up and developed into a lovely lyric tenor as Faust is supossed to be.
The scene in Orange is more impressive as well, comparing to too minimalistic :-( stage setting in Staatsoper.
Perfeito!

I simply don't liked the end because Marguerite don't go to Heaven... I like to see them do this...

Whats with the chorus??
