i may sound stupid for asking this, but if i get this camera since it is a film camera, is there ANY WAY to get the pictures i take onto my computer? and if i get my pictures developed, i can scan them, but would that make for a less quality picture? sorry, i'm new haha
@Kara899 I have a video on removing the Diana Lens. bitDOTly/kDianaRemove replace the DOT with a . sorry, youtube doesn't like links in these comments.
@SabrinaCrapCaptain The Diana F+ cams run about $55 without the flash unit. If you get the F+ with the flash, they run about $95-100. You can also get the Diana+, but it doesn't have the plug holes necessary for a flash unit. They run about $50.
@nekochie yes, it can be difficult to remove the lenses the first few times. I have a video demonstrating this. Look for the How to Remove the Diana+ Lens vid.
Hi kai, thanks for your videos, they have been really helpful and totally convinced me to get a diana +. I just wanted to ask if iit was alright to change between different lenses with the same roll of film. Will it affect the film?
@IneDeLeukste You won't get the circular image associated with the fisheye lens. The reason for this is that the 35mm film back only uses about 32% of the image area in the center of the standard 6x6 negative. The circular distortion and frame happen outside this area, so it won't appear on your 35mm negative. I've shot with this combo and I think it's a good combination. The fisheye lens acts like a superwide angle lens that eliminates the tight cropping you get when using the 35mm film back.
@kaituba i think i'm just going to get the fisheye 2. i was gonna do what you did (the holga fisheye lens) but my brother offered to get me a fishy hehe thanks!! :D
I just got a diana f+ for christmas with the fisheye lens and the 35mm. I tried shooting with the 35mm in and using the fisheye lens. I can't seem to get the effect of the fisheye. Is it due to the film?
Also, I bought the lomography film but keep getting basic 35mm results. Do you think it could be due to the flash or because I'm taking the pictures inside?
This lens is made specifically for the Lomography Diana+ . You could probably mount it to a Canon or Nikon SLR using one of the new lomography lens adaptors, but since the lens lacks aperture control, it might be of limited utility. For your SLR you might be better off buying a fisheye accessory lens that attaches to the filter mount of regular lens.
Thanks! I'm currently working on the pinhole video, but I'm unhappy with the footage I shot. The video camera batteries died on me during the shoot. I've been trying to edit around what I have into something workable, but I think I will need to reshoot.
I'm planning on it. It may take a little time, I need to get into the darkroom. Will post them to the website. I will send out a notification via Twitter. (kaiphoto)
what are the differences of the actual lomo fisheye 1 0r 2 and the diana f+ with the fisheye attachment...which would be a better buy to get?

Do these cameras break easily because of what they're made of? Please help :)
Curtleeeee 5 months ago
@Curtleeeee The Diana cameras are made of plastic, so they are a little breakable if you drop them on a hard surface.
kaituba 5 months ago
Sorry if this is a dumb question but, would there be any issue in changing lenses while in the middle of a roll of film?
BabyInu58 6 months ago
@BabyInu58 No, there isn't any problem changing lenses mid-roll.

just a suggestion to all, youre better off buying the fisheye 1 or 2.
i have 5 friends with Diana's, and they all broke very quickly.
yes, they can be fixed, but they kept on breaking down.
and most of the time, only half the photos come out badly distorted.
i have had a Fisheye 2 for a while now, and it hasnty broken once, and takes perfect photos every time. <3

Hey Kai,
I was wondering if it is possible to use the diana + fisheye lens in combination with the diana + 35mm back?
Thanks

Kai, do you think this fisheye and finder will work with the instant film back or is that rear bit of the finder going to be in the way?

@hallsf I don't know. I'll see if I can get my hands on an instant film back and check it out.
