I like the way you write about the game and the anime, specially about Bon Clay!
Its a pitty that there's no jap version of this game, though. I'd rather play something with the original voices in it... well.
but i'm happy to see that there are people like you who still play the good old games. I love this game particullary because of the freedom you are given to sail around with your crew, wether you choose straw hat's , buggy's, crocodile's or create one of your taste.
I was actually on the fence about adding those in, because they interrupt the action and flow...but since annotations are entirely optional, it shouldn't be a problem.
Plus, if there are any people out there like me who would want to know what kind of (bad) poetry Mr. 2 writes, it should (hopefully) turn out to be more interesting than annoying, because the heartfelt scene of this poetry's utterance was otherwise completely lost the in 4Kids version of One Piece.
@amyrose9889nenasonic It's fairly complicated and not too well documented, but he's an "okama," which in this case refers to a crossdresser...any other particular aspects are open to whatever interpretation you want, but others of his kind actually consider him a tad "butch"...so he's a bit too masculine and definitely not to be confused for a homosexual.
@Evi1Hunter4 You actually can, since I had that problem in several other attempts!
The life bar tends to "stick" at 0 HP after an attack that would've been fatal, but not absolutely "you couldn't have survived that" fatal...so if it's not unreasonable to do so, the game keeps people alive for one last hit. I figure it's to make a "survivor's" Secret Attack maximally devastating.
Any less HP, and he would've definitely lost...I was surprised, but I decided to go for it anyway.
Oh, Bon Clay you strange strange man.I'm surprised the game left in the Japanese text, since 4Kids is known for erasing things like that.
I think Mr. 9 and Vivi used bazookas when they tried to capture Laboon the whale, but that's easily missed. I guess they just wanted all of the transformations to use projectiles.
Bon Clay in Unlimited Adventure was hard to use, his spinning not helping much in tracking down opponents, and he never used his devil fruit powers there. Shame.
Why Usopp? Wouldn't Sanji be a better choice, considering the two of them actually fought?
I can see you were trying as hard as you can to land a hit with all three transformations though. Of course, the real Bon is way more strategic with his Devil Fruit powers.
@Overhazard Well, Bon Clay actually did beat up on Usopp (and took his goggles) and Eyelash...although he did so even more effortlessly than seen here. Don't worry, I've got some other plans in mind for our poor Love Chef, though.
You wouldn't believe how many times I had to try again just to get one of each transformation, particularly since it's easy to simply blow Usopp away, because he's got pretty low durability...and the AI sure isn't playing to his strengths or trying to avoid attacks.
@YuuGiJoou I knew you had to play again and again to get what you have here, even more so than normal. But Usopp has low durability? I thought durability was his single physical proficiency. He's like the defensive wall among the Straw Hats.
@Overhazard Usopp is a normal human without Devil Fruit powers or Charles Atlas superpowers. He's got ingenuity, grit, and determination...but against opponents he has no real business fighting, he'd be killed...particularly here, before he's got all those neat Skypiean dials to get an edge on all the monstrously strong people in the world...the Impact Dial notwithstanding, which is just a one-off inclusion for this game.
In-game, Chopper (then Luffy and Zoro) are the most durable Straw Hats.
@YuuGiJoou Usopp went up against Luffy and did a number on him to the surprise of all of the other Straw Hats. Also, I'd say he DOES have superhuman durability due to having been hit repeatedly with Mr. 4's bat and continuing to get up and fight. Out of the blunt objects in this series, Mr. 4 packs among the biggest wallops--even in comparison to the characters presently in the manga.
But I guess it works for the game to make Usopp seem normal around all these monstrous fighters.
@Overhazard Usopp does indeed take quite the brutal beating now and again, but that seems to be true of everybody in the One Piece world who happens to have enough determination to just get up and keep on going.
I think maybe they all have overactive adrenal glands and really abuse the fact that there are really very few ways to be killed in One Piece outside of backstory segments. (Not that they don't, but it's still hardly the norm.)
I never really bought that he could take Mr. 4's beatings.
@YuuGiJoou Yeah, I guess it's more determination than actual physical defensiveness. In the One Piece world, you only lose consciousness when you give up, I suppose.
OKAMA WAY!

Wow, you can't finish an opponent off with a failed secret attack?
