  • Is it not stupid to arrest someone in their own home after they have shown you proof that the home is theirs? Obama emphasized that the cops were only doing their job up until that point. Once they realized the home was indeed Gates', they should have apologized for the misunderstanding and left immediately. To arrest the man after that is quite stupid. Being an "Asshole" in your own house is not a crime.
