There is just one rythymic problem that needs correcting and it is a common one, I've even heard Rampal do it, i.e., rushing the first 16th note of a 4 - 16th note pattern, especially if the first 16th is slurred to the second. If you play it back at half speed, it sounds like its a 1/32 note followed by a dotted 16th, instead of two, equal 16ths. We oboists play the C-major version of this concerto and if you studied with Mr. Still, you knew how to do it right and its much better that way.
@KRISYSable Actually she does have proper embouchure, learn what it is. I've been playing flute for years. You try playing the same thing as she did. Then we'll see who's better. I've been in many concerts, and seen many, and she is by far the most talented I've ever seen. And she is most likely following the dynamics for this piece. You're probably a beginner who just wishes to be an 1/8th as talented as her.
and the passion comes from where Nadia? Flawless and definitely makes a point... tell me why I get the feeling that I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of this person?
Bravo!

yawannabeme, professionals use music all the time. Just because one is a professional doesn't mean they have to have it memorized, and i would bet you she does, she just has the music there as a precautionary measure. Once one practices a piece enough, trust me they'll have it memorized
musicians always have music just as a guide line in case...
as have i memorised it but i would never play without my music...
Even though you DONT play with sheet music... do you have a sound like hers? You are 14... i would suggest you learn to watch arrogance... musicians get cut down very fast for arrogance.
@mel210591 Hell yes tell him/her let them know we don't take kindly to that you are no better than the next when you are not practicing best believe they are lol
@mel210591 yes, I agree that the best DO play with music, just in case... I spent 8 months working on an immensely difficult version of the Carnival of Venice, and I had it completely memorized, then I went in to play it at last, and around the 6 minute mark I completely lost it, forgot what came next, it was a good thing I had it there. Once I looked at it I remembered, but I would have messed up badly if it weren't for the music being there...
I thought your performance was Brilliant......10 stars!!!!+++++++++++ I totally loved your cadenza did you make it up yourself or did you use someone elses??? Im just curious to kno :) I hope i can play Mozart like you one day :)
this is such a great piece. I wonder though about the slurs in the runs at the beginning when they should be tongued, depending on what interpretation you used. Also, with the jumps you want to make sure that you are really getting those low notes out so they can be heard clearly. Mozart was so evil to flute players, haha. You did a wonderful job on this!!
i <3 mozart's piano works, but i do agree that he is rather harsh on flute players :D wasn't this piece for the oboe or something originally (but he modified for flutie)? or was it concerto 1... :(
It was an oboe piece originally, yes. I had thought it was a flute piece first but someone corrected me. Then Mozart was commissioned for a flute concerto so he just rewrote the oboe concerto and added a little embelishment.
hehe, for a musical genius that was kind of lazy now that I think about it.
someone help. im uber confused. Is this not Wolfgang's oboe concerto in C major?? How come its being played on a flute? (not that i have any objections, its a lovely arangment)
got it. "Mozart orriginally wrote his oboe concerto in C major in 1777 for oboeist Giuseppe Ferlendis, it was later reworked by the composer as a flute concerto in D major in 1778"
I thought this piece was reworked because someone paid him to compose a new flute piece, but he gave this one instead. The text I read was saying that the one who paid for this FLUTE piece was very mad after finding that it is reworked from the oboe concerto.
Someone needed two flute concerti aswell as a bunch of chamber stuff and Wolfgang gave him one flute concerto and the chamber stuff, together with this reworking. The patron refused to pay Mozart for this, on account of it being almost identical to his Oboe concerto
The entry of the flute was so subtle, it just blended in.
