What if the gang was using Joey and Pauly to get rid of possible threats to their gang by giving the two a hit list? But the gang had predicted the possibility of a defection against them if the two figured out what was going on, so they put Joey's name on the bottom of Pauly's list, and visa-versa, so when all targets were dead, one would eliminate the other, believing that their loyalty to the gang would get the best of them.

Not sure. I think you knock off some of the other ones and then go have a chat with him and see if he will join you instead of being against you.

If he doesn't and you get in a gun fight in the warehouse it is a ricochet from his own gun that kills him taking you (somewhat) off the hook for his death but the ones that are left don't believe you.

Just a thought. You are the expert here.(that was more than you wanted wasn't it?) :D

Love the zip shot outside the door to show the angst, changing shots behind the propeller when car coming, constant changing shots in dock house, moving to the back seat for the final shot (I can go on more)---this is a director's dream piece. Instead of killing Pauly, he drives over to his house (or wherever he meets him) and robs him. He tells him to give him something special, something he would never give away, in exchange for his life. He (Pesto) then keeps this thing as 'proof' of his killing Pauly. Basically, what we have here, is a fake murder of course. In terms of what Pauly gives him... I don't know... Maybe a wedding ring? A letter from a distant friend? Please consider my idea. Thanks.
