@buzzie114 I think it took that long because of limited computational power and not because of limited skill.
Rendering things like this takes up more HDD space, CPU cycles and RAM that you might think. The time required increases exponentially on smaller computers. The hollywood industries all have multi-million-dollar server farms for rendering these things. Most of us only have our home computer.
@MinecraftFun Yes i know that hollywood has that kind of farms to render, but it's only necesarly for very huge projects, like for 2012 movie Avatar etc! but example that we see here is just a small 3d enviroment with some animation, + animation is 3 for 3 seconds only, so it's not fair to comapre this to hollywood, our days PC Core i7 for example should done rendering that kind of scene for 2-3 hours max. But im not saying that this is bad job, it's realy cool by the way.
@buzzie114 I think you're underestimating just how much detail was added to this scene, and just how long it takes to render all that detail. This'd easily take more than a couple of hours on an i7, and it's not that common that you find someone willing to run a very powerful computer for days at a time - the energy bill would be through the roof. More often than not, things like this are rendered over time on P4s etc. - low energy, low noise, low cost computers.
@MinecraftFun I know how detailed it is, but still is not that huge, im not saying because i think so, i saying because i have experience with that stuff, im working in the studio doing that for long time, and we have some very good 3d animators thats work in our studio, and they doing very big projects sometimes.
@TheAdventureJake Not true, They have whole teams dedicated to working on action scenes, You'd be surprised by how fast you can actually do stuff like this with the right training :D
whoa.... when i first saw this as a thumbnail over on the right, i thought somebody was gonna get their coat caught in the door, or something. amazing.
Normally I'm really not interested in this kind of thing (don't ask how I got to your video) but I'm glad I did. I seriously didn't realise how much work goes into this, and I admire anybody with patience! Seriously well done!
nice job oh my fucking god you should make it longer i know the feeling although i use flash mx so its a cartoon thing i have to redraw every frame but your is definatly harder than mine a whole bunch

It looks good, but it shouldn't take 2 months, if you know exactly what you doing it could be done for less than 4 days

Now you know what a special effects artist feels like every Hollywood movie. Multiply your work time by 6 for every action scene.
