I was told the 12mb Cache on the quad is a real winner, but then again most games nowadays are only uterlizing duo cores... so I guess it just falls down to how much you wanna spend.

Vista 64 bit takes uterlizes your memory better supposely, I donno... it's gonna be my first vista as well but a few friends of mine that play games and knows computer hardwares/softwares don't seem to have a problem with it.

With the thousands that alienware machines cost, you could build an extremely amazing pc for the same or less. And really, how many people that care about the quality of their game are going to be playing not rooted the ground? Not very many. Invest in a great desktop for games, buying an alienware laptop is just foolish.

True, but to add on things (64-bit OS, 4 GB of RAM, and another Video Card) to make it run like a decent gaming computer would cost quite a bit, and with the battery life being as bad as it is (stock settings even) it's not like you could use it any where for an extended period of time without it being plugged in. I'm just saying that considering how much it costs to make this into a decent gaming rig, no ability to upgrade it, and it's poor battery life, it's just not that appealing to me.
