interesting you type that...back about 7 yrs I went to an old skool revival type night in Newcastle Under Lyme - it was the first time I'd been to a rave in 3 yrs, but really 6, as I consider my last night Kinetic's 4th b/day - as I was disillusioned with the music at this stage. I took my 'whistle' as part of nostalgia/culture - because...that was the place for it. In seemed to me like I was the only one...I was aso confronted and told it wasn't the 'done thing' anymore....and it seemed to me..

that the 'younger Ravers' were there for an image-conscious purpose than for out and out passion and belonging to the music/Scene....it other words it felt crap and diluted and something bygone, rather than a progressive extension of what once a safe place to 'brock out' and forget the mundanities of life...I never went back after that, I just collected my tunes and mixed for my own pleasure. It's sad, but the scene DID deterioate...rapidly
