  • I was at the thrift store last month and found a chitty chitty bang bang toy car..not plastic..it's a real heavy metal with wings and everything..I love it!!! It looks exactly like the one in the movie!! What a great find!!

  • I saw the whole movie & it was awesome !:)

  • @NaLilNa i agree i watched it when i was very little!!

  • That car is soooo wicked awesome! As a small kid I always wanted to make one myself, but I alwayse failed :) Great movie!

  • Lol I love how they have them driving on what would be the wrong side of the road over there in England.

  • lol Toot sweets sound like what they are....so do lolli's in a lollipop jar

  • if that car was still around it would be worth an absolute fortune!!!!

  • @ItsTheCraze100 It is around. A guy who worked on the film in England owns the first one built and is roadworthy. He recently tried selling it at auction but it didn't meet reserve. The man's name is Pierre Picton.

  • @BoUrnNe26 The New Zealand movie director Sir Peter Jackson bought the original film car at auction last year for just under $1,000,000. I think it's now kept in New Zealand

  • @Allandrover where did you hear that? Just curious because I know the owner who has had it for a long time, Pierre Picton, recently tried to sell it at auction last year but it didn't meet reserve.

  • 3:00 he was gonna crash lol

  • the wheel isn't even spinning but i love the film :)

  • @elfel1991 That's the spare!

  • me encanta esta pelicula, mi papá me llevó a verla cuando se estrenó en México.

  • God, that is a gorgeous car.

  • you're truly scrumptious............hmmmmm zombie.....

  • @squeekersmommy2011 Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

  • this car runs like a piece of trash

  • What movie is this

  • still love this movie! and I'm 19. i just watched it the other day. When i was little i liked musicals not Disney movies.

  • My task for this weekend has been established: make sausage tarts and marmalade rolls.

  • I did my figure skating program to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang :D

  • For fuk sakes already, WHERE is part 01???

  • Mr. Garrison's rendition in ep 2, S5 "hello, shitty shitty fag fag, shitty shitty fag fag, how do you do" is way better.

  • what a man, what a man, what a mighty good man. Who else would carry her? I swear, Dick Van Dyke is the man of my dreams.

  • Why carnt there be happy programs like this now a days

  • @Lemonnater I wondered the same thing and what happened to our world between then and now....It all went to heck after the late 70's...sigh :(

  • 4:49 She hears that he made the car and she says, "And it actually goes?!?"

    That's pretty insulting.

Then a few seconds later she knows every word of the song and is calling it "sleek as a thoroughbred" and "You'll turn everybody's head today."

    What a bich.

  • @mountainwalrus100 It's basically the same as what Grandpa said. He and Truly both know that Caractacus' stuff usually fail at one point or another.

  • You can really tell they wanted Julie Andrews by the costume she wears in the car scene! I think Sally Ann Howes is better after seeing this movie.

  • think how many yrs ago they cars like that existed.

  • That stupid woman driver could have killed them all!!

  • I wonder what MPG Chitty does? Maybe 12 if it's lucky!

Sounds like a diesel engine too.

    Top speed?

  • Entire reason I came to love hot rods. This was TOTALLY my favorite movie when I was a kid.

  • I'm 48. I first saw this movie at the Fox in St. Louis when I was nine, ten, eleven. I don't remember. The scree was a GIANT screen. WAY bigger than what we have now. I still LOVE this movie. My niece is 4. When she comes to visit, I will rent it for her.

  • when that car rolls out of the workshop it makes the hairs on my stand up!!

  • I am touched..nostalgic..fascinating

  • Haha A Slight Squeeze On The Hooter xDD

  • this include one of the most important thing of us humanbeing

  • know mouth shut

  • They're all on drugs :(

  • I remember when I used to watch it everyday as a child. It was and still as of today, is one of my favorite movies. Good times. Good times.

  • this car is the only reason my friend wants to be an engineer

  • i love this song

  • omg! this is the best movie ever, absolutely LOVE it!!

  • Picture S.A.H. in black lace. I can't go on...

  • The actual car was recently sold at auction. Believed it fetched over $800,000 USD

  • Anyone realize how huge this "car" is? When he passes grandpa at 1:25 you can see the windshield is much taller than grandpa.

This is more like a convertible Suburban on 30s than a car.

  • 3 people didn't like being bang banged!

  • @xr6lad now its 5

  • @xr6lad Stop ruining my childhoood!

  • @AmazingItalianGirl congrats!! iz it 4 a musical at skool or something?

  • im like the train part

  • @AntJags24 Every time I see the train, It reminds me of Thomas The Tank Engine.

  • I love how quickly they learnt the song. ;L

  • one of the coolest things about this movie, particularly the first few minutes of this clip, is that they purposely show old, slow modes of transportation in the background! when they're driving Chitty, you see horses, horse-drawn wagons, bicycles, and even people walking--such slow, outdated ways of getting around compared to the automobile, and then just the one car at 2:52. Chitty is not only beautiful--she's the future of transportation! very cool film making technique!!! =D

  • @rofflemows2 Walking and bicycles aren't outdated...just old (a couple million years for the former and a couple hundred for the latter) :)

  • don't let Mr. Toad of Toad Hall see that car!!! it'll be gone in a flash!! O.O

  • IM AUDITIONING FOR JEMIMA!!! im 12 years old (i know i sound old for the part) WISH ME LUCK

  • @AmazingItalianGirl GOOD LUCK!! o.0

  • @rofflemows2 i got a call back and now i have to sing "truly scrumtious"

  • @rofflemows2 I GOT THE PART OF JEMIMA!

  • 6:27 haha love the outfit!

  • ja wahr das schön habe ich gerne angeschaut

  • everytime my sweetie and i watch this together we get to this part he cracks up. apperently this song is so hilarious to him. never gets old. he laughs like a a 5 year old loves potty humor. its real cute

  • I find a slight squeeze on the hooter to be an excellent safety precaution

  • Ahhh women drivers ;)

  • dick van dyke in chitty chitty bang bang uses his normal voice but in marry poppins he uses a british actsent but the movies both take place in england so whats up with that

  • Anyone know this upcoming number by heart ?? LOL

  • I wonder where that car is right now; I would like to buy it!

  • @puffrooster There's a replica of that very car available for hire in the National motor musem New forest, I know ive seen it

  • @sootyferrari65 For hire? You mean I can take it for a ride, myself!?

  • @puffrooster People use it for partys weddings and gatherings but im pretty sure you can

  • @sootyferrari65 - If you can, the deposit would have to be quite a bit.

  • @puffrooster Nobody told me how much when I worked there but im guessing a few hundered to a thousand english pounds for a day

  • @sootyferrari65 hmmm, might be cheaper to just rent an Aston Martin for the day!?

  • I think I got Chitty's 2nd Cousin, twiced removed...Pretty Shitty Bang Bang <:~/

  • "Goodbye Grandpa"

    "Nasty Smelly Things Motor Cars"

    :) <3 this movie!!!

  • great looking car

  • is it just me, or did sally ann howes switch to an american accent at 07:33. sounds so different! maybe even a voice over!

  • either its me, or the video is lagging.

  • One of the best family movies ever. Total innocent fun. A true classic.

  • that train shot must have been a difficult one<!

  • ... and then they ate her

  • i love how they wave at everyone~ if u do it today, when u go in ur car, the ppl wud come around going "wat u waving at? weirdo..." lolxD

  • @Sabsoong : Probably not all of them, where I live there's this guy that walks around town alot and he waves at everyone, I saw him two days ago and I knew that he was waving at me and my friend and I waved back to him :3

  • @yamiyugifangirl LOL how nice<3 dats wat me nd my friends were doing when we went to rome and we sat on one of the tour buses and started randomly waving at everyone xD and where dyu live anyways? lol

  • @Sabsoong:Seymour, Indiana

  • @yamiyugifangirl lol cool xD london hahaha

  • Don't you just love musicals - every1 automatically knows the entire lyrics to the song :0

  • Actually most cars from the period sound like this; its the carburator.

  • i love this movie I really do, and the kids too, but whenever they sing like that the first thing that pops into my head is the twin girls from the Shining.

  • 3 people have no soul

  • @SweetLittleNeko13 maybe they disliked the out of sync audio. its fucking annoying tbf

  • they allow women to drive cars in that country? outrageous! outrageous, i say!

  • Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. One of the world's first super heroes. She's magical, mystical, beautiful, graceful,...and the girl can kick some bad guy butt, too!! She'll always remain a true lady as well.

  • Ahh...what could be nicer than a drive along the English coutryside?

I do like to be beside the seaside.:)

  • This is one of my favorite movie growling up! Still love it today

  • Forget asking "are we there yet"

I'll just sing this and drive my friends nuts.

  • lol i wonder if at 3:02, there was really something off camera that made Dick Van Dyke cringe like something was about to hit the car or if that was just written in and/or improvised.

  • Comment removed

  • sound track is off

  • I still wish they had movies like this I was 11 yrs old when this came out.

I remember Mary Poppins and the gnome mobile and a lot other good movies I used to watch. To bad Disney can't seem to make the old movies like they did before

  • He can make cars like that out of junk laying around and they're still poor? O_O

    hehe.

  • truly sounds like julie andrews.

  • my mom says i used to love this as a kid. surprisingly enough u find me under the hood of a lot of cars rebuilding them nowadays. whoda thunk it.

  • i love Truley's voice!!! i give it 100 stars! :)

  • I was 9 years old when I saw this movie

  • @0812201 OH, Thank you so much. I really didn't know.

The design of Chitty Chitty Bang Bangs Engine , the venerable GEN II, the actual real life automobile , that worked in the film, still works, and is driven to this day by Mr. Picton, was all because of Mr. Alan Mann Racing . =^.^=

  • I may be a 6.3ft samoan kickboxer, but i still have such a soft spot for this movie lol!!

  • @MussLove This movie really deserves such love. Its so amazing.

  • @uaesucks i love it

  • @MussLove

i bet some other people have got soft spots by the time you've finished with 'em!

  • now she was able to put the car in reverse before and back up......

  • Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will be with Pierre Picton to the time he leaves us on this planet. There are many copies, really good ones, I must say. The car that is the Genie, Genii, Jenny, Jen 11, (magical being); the real automobile, registered in United Kingdom; that's Pierre Pictons car.

It will not be sold, it's not for sale. As far as the rest of world knows, it will never be available to anyone at any price 'till Mr. Pictons survivors say so.

Pierre loves Jenny. We all do. =^.^=

  • the car sold for like $220.000 in 2003

  • 1st Part of Pierre Picton Quote: "...as you know, this is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and, uh, I drove Chitty at the beginning of the film, number 3, in the race; I'm racing along there, and then to avoid the child who rushed across the race track, I avoided the child, skidded, crashed, and caught fire. And then, after that, Jeremy and Jemima found Chitty in Mr. Coggin's scrap yard. And then then magic started. Jeremy and Jemima; and that's the wonderful story."

  • 2nd Part of Pierre Picton Quote: "But now, as before, the actual engine is an early Essex Competition, Ford Essex Competition which, uh, 3 litre, and put together by (???) Racey? ; Ford's Racing Manager in the 1960's. And I've owned Chitty for over thirty-three years. It's a very nice; and I'm very honoured, to own the actual motorcar from the film. It's "Fantasmagorical", and Thank-you very much. Good-bye."

  • I did my best to quote Pierre Picton from an Interview done at Great Darmouth, United Kingdom (UK). There was a persons name about the engine design that I just couldn't make out and tried to research, sorry. Here is the Youtube link : watch?v=mucZZYOXvuo And Pierre Picton quote follows: There may have to be two parts: OK =^.^=

  • Very great clip. But it's better if it begins 30 seconds earlier.

  • Love this song. It's a CLASSIC !!!

  • Not only does Gen 11 still exist, the Cub 1 does as well. Amazing!

  • This movie was produced two years before I was alive. To this day, watching the film, when Dick Van Dyke rolled that car out of the shed then Heather Ripley and Adrian Hall get in Pierre Picton's lovely Gen 11, I darn near cry. It's such a great song. :) I named my best little buddy raccoon plushie Chitter Ling Raccoon (CLR; after the product that removes Calcium Lime and Rust) Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Tony Green must have felt the same when he had Gen 22 built. Now that's Truly love. =^.^=

  • she managed to crash in the same swamp as the first one

  • i think i need a mr pots in my life HAHAHAHA

  • I have always disliked Truly's "wedding dress" outfit. But I love this movie, I just think she should wear more regular clothes.

  • Chitty chitty bang bang is a 2004 dodge intrepid

  • Is it just me, or is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang so much more awesome than the Batmobile? Go Chitty! : )

  • 03:28 Wow. You're first road accident after 3 mins of driving the silly thing! LMAO!!!

  • I want to build a car like that!

  • Yow, for kids, they sure can harmonize.

  • I want that car so much! WIth the flying and boat abilities!

  • i want that car

  • I think Truly looks friendlier with her hair down

  • I always say 'ooooh' when I see the pretty car come out of the barn! Chitty is so beautiful!!

  • someone should make a porno called chitty chitty gang bang. haha jk.

  • I forgot how nice and chivalrous Dick is in this. I've rarely seen such acts today, although I try to enact them myself.

  • anybody else hear jeremy start to say "can we go for a picnic?" before he realizes he's supposed to be saying "drive" not "picnic"

  • @luv2writeksa totally. I thought I had imagined it the first time.

  • 4:02 if only all men were still like that...

  • @crazzygirl100 some are :)

  • my kids

  • I love these kids. If any two children should have stayed children forever, it's these two. Luckily they can, because this film will always be around.

  • aww! at, 7:36, Their singing is SOOO sweet!.. like the words in the song :) their so sweet, their names shud be lolly and pop x

  • AHAHAHAHA you make me laugh lolly and pop hahaha : D

  • lol gen 11 for the plate

  • I love that song "chitty bang bang",when they sing i always sing along.

  • Here is a bit of Chitty trivia. The wood dashboard came from a British military plane. I believe she has a Ford V-8 engine. Correct me if I am wrong.

  • @SonOfGod1966 Close, the instrument pannel/dash is aluminium I believe ..and I think it's an automatic Ford V-6 engine, as Dick couldn't drive manual..

  • my favorite childhood movie!

  • Magnificent.

  • This is the best part of the film, the moment the barn doors open and the car rolls out..everyone thinking it would be some sort of cheap film prop, instead its a thing of beauty, along the lines of a Rolls Silver ghost.
