Modern fighters have G limits in the 9-9.5 range _NOT_ to protect the pilot, but to prevent excessive wear and tear on major airframe components and flight surfaces. In other words, to ensure a fighter makes it to the end of its expected service life without any major structural damage.
First, I must say that I don't know much about fighter jets. But it seems all this video highlights is that this machine can fly low and slow, and not fall out of the sky. Has the maxim, "speed is life", become passé, superseded in some way by low-level low-speed maneuverability? Even if this maneuverability translates at speed, tighter radius more speed equals higher G's. Even if the plane can turn a tighter radius than any other, but subjects the pilot to 15 G's doing it, what good is?
To all you american bashing alien boasting reatards out there, the f-22 isnt even made anymore. its now the f-something else, made in a foreign country. bash america some more, we'll bash you later.
That is incredible maneuverability. But the cost per plane is astronomical, and that is our Achilles heel, I think. We should build 10,000 cheap drone jets that can be controlled from bases, and swamp the enemy instead. Losing just one of these jets is almost the equivalent of losing an aircraft carrier, in dollar cost.

@ogdocvato planes have been able to turn on a dime like that long predating the 80s man, the su-27 was really not better or worse in most aspects than the f-15, which predated the sukhoi, the raptor is definatly the most manuverable production plane at mach 1 and higher -which it cruises supersonic by the way- as of today, now if the su-47 gets the bugs ironed out and upgraded to a true combat aircraft that may not be true anymore

That is incredible maneuverability. But the cost per plane is astronomical, and that is our Achilles heel, I think. We should build 10,000 cheap drone jets that can be controlled from bases, and swamp the enemy instead. Losing just one of these jets is almost the equivalent of losing an aircraft carrier, in dollar cost.

I really hope they don't stop fixing the raptor.. They're grounded at the moment.. I hope the oxygen related issues that they're currently having get fixed. :/. I don't want to say goodbye to the raptor :(

the really scary/sad thing is that these models, the F-22 & F-35 are already being phased out and replaced by smaller, faster, deadlier, less expemsive on dual fronts, because they're pilotless Predators. Our dreams of future air/space battles will likely never occur. Plans are to make air/space travel strictly for scientific and transportation needs. @ogdocvato planes have been able to turn on a dime like that long predating the 80s man, the su-27 was really not better or worse in most aspects than the f-15, which predated the sukhoi, the raptor is definatly the most manuverable production plane at mach 1 and higher -which it cruises supersonic by the way- as of today, now if the su-47 gets the bugs ironed out and upgraded to a true combat aircraft that may not be true anymore

The way it seems to float around and hover is just bizarre. It doesn't seem to obey the conventional laws of physics. It's definitely more like a UFO than a man-made plane.
